Is the OEM charger quick charge 2.0? - LG V10 Accessories

The chargers that come with U.S. carriers, are they Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 chargers?
It says "fast charge" on the charger but I don't know if fast charge and quick charge 2.0 mean the same thing?
Thank you!

Qualcomm 2.0 quick chargers and fast chargers are not the same.
The oem in the box is a qc 2.0 quick charger.

My wife's Samsung Note 4 recognizes it as quick charge.

Hi Everyone, I can't wait for the G5, the modular design looks really intriguing, with that being said, I got the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AAHT62A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 in anticipation of the Lg G5, but I have used it on other Quick Charge 2.0 Devices and it is awesome! My question is will the stock out of box G5 charger cable work between the phone and my laptop. I've been reading stuff about a 75 resistor and I'm confused.
I also thought the stock charger was in fact a QC 3.0 charger.

Stock cable works fine with my laptop. As far as the stock charger, it is QC 2.0 not 3.0. Not sure why LG did that.

So you can transfer files, photos etc to/from the G5/laptop with no issues with stock cable? I thought the cable had to have some type of 75 ohm or something resistor in it so that it does not mess up the computer and its USB port?
I just do backup on my pc lg bridge with stock cable

Here's the power bank I picked up:
http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Cert...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
RAVPower 20,100mAh with QC 3.0, USB type C, regular iSmart USB port. so it can charge regular speed charging devices, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 (and backward compatable to 2.0/1.0) and USB-C fast charging. Pretty much have all you bases covered. So I can charge my G5 and Nexus 6P at their full rate.
Also it can charge using QC 3.0 (if you have a QC 3.0 charger) to charge the huge 20,100mAh in about 4.5 hours.
I am looking for powerstation which can Charge LG g5 and second battery in Quick Charge Mode.
Anbody an idea?

Extra Chargers?

Has anyone found any cheap chargers that can charge this phone like the Essential charger does (really fast)? I have bought two different chargers and neither of them can really even charge the phone. The lock screen says it's charging slowly, and the battery meter acts like it's charging, but it doesn't actually charge. The chargers were both Quick Charge 3.0 chargers too. None of my old phone chargers with a type-c adapter will charge the phone either.

The phone requires a USB PD (Power Delivery) charger for rapid charging. It must have [email protected] and [email protected]
It doesn't support Qualcomm's Quick Charge.
I ordered this one and it rapid charges. It supports 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/ 3A, 20V/2.25A

Thanks! Now, what about if I wanted it to just charge normally (not rapidly or slowly) for if if I wanted to leave it charging overnight? Don't think I need to spend the extra money on rapid chargers for that scenario...

No idea. Honestly, I don't know of anyone who consciously needs to control the speed of their charge. I avoid charging overnight by rapid charging during the day at work.
does it really need PD? they are kind of expensive and there are chargers out there with 5V, 6V, 9V, 12V @ 3A

I'm not sure how Android is programmed to display "Rapidly Charging", but I'm sure it's not by charging standard. Probably based on supplied power, but it definitely doesn't charge as fast as the stock charger. I noticed this with my QC chargers. It will say rapidly charging for a couple minutes and then just not charge at all or say charging slowly. Frustrating as hell so I bought an extra USB PD charger.
My Samsung chargers all work, and charge the phone to 100%. They just say charging, not quick charging, but whatever... The % goes up.

Yeah...it doesn't. I'm such a tool I assumed it did and bought two Ankar QC3 wall chargers and a Tronsmart QC3 car charger. None of them are able to charge the phone at all, says that it's charging slowly but doesn't seem as though it's charging at all.

Phone needs a charger with USB-C Power Delivery and not QC. Anker has at least one model and Incipio has one as well. There are many others on Amazon.. The cool thing about those is that they also change my XPS-13. Only carry one charger when I travel.
I've got a few QC 2/3 chargers and a few USB-C PD chargers and what I've found is that depending on which USB-C to USB-A makes a difference whether I get rapid charge or not.
I'm slowly converting over to USB-C to USB-C but it is stupid expensive for some things like the power packs with USB-C...
Anyway, try a few different cables and see if it works for you, also it seems to work a tiny bit better on the Oreo Beta however my QC 2.0 car charger doesn't charge as fast as it did on 7.1.1 but luckily the car chargers are the cheapest USB-C PD items to buy, roughly about the same price as a cable.
One last note, the same charger and cable don't always go into rapid charging mode so replugging the cable in sometime kicks in rapid mode for me.

Alas, not available in the US...

Anyone know if qc 3.0 will enable turbo charging? I currently have a qc 2.0 and it's charging very slowly. Is the Moto turbo 30w the only charger that can activate turbo charging?
Hi,
I'm using an AUKEY charger with QC3 and the screen shows "TurboPower connected", so yes it works fine.

Thanks ended up just buying the original charger for about $20
I can confirm Pixel chargers work.
FYI, 18 watts PD charger works 100%

Qualcomm Quick charge works, sort of?

Using the charger tool that can be accessed with the *#800# dial codeI I have noticed that some old chargers that support Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 can quick charge my OnePlus 8T. I didn't expect this after reading that earlier OnePlus models didn't support Quick charge at all.
It quick charges with 18W 9V/2A or slightly less when the battery is not too charged already. I use a standard USB-A to USB-C cable for this. The phone only says "charging" but it is definitely a lot quicker than standard USB 5V charging. Charging always starts at 5V and switches to 9V after a while (less than 30 seconds).
I also get 18W 9V/2A charging with a USB PD charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable. In this case the phone says it is charging fast. I have not managed to get it to charge with more than 18W using USB PD.
With a (powerful) charger that doesn't support Quick Charge or USB PD the phone charges at 5V with only 0.5-0.8A current which is surprisingly low.
Does anyone know what charging standards that OnePlus 8T officially supports?
I was not able to reproduce your behaviour. Cannot get to charge faster than 10W with USB A cables or 6-7W with USB C cables. All of this was performed with various charger that support both QC and PD.

Why wont this fast charge?

I have an 8T and i cant seem to get this to fast charge it only says "Charging" Not "Charging rapidly" even though I am using an anker iq charger and an anker charging cable.

Hello,
Please check this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VOOC
Aparenetly VOOC (OnePlus calls it Warp Charge) & Quick Charge aren't compatible with each other.
They may only slow charge each other !!
Thanks

Yeah and you only get slow charging using any QC chargers. Bummer naxal is right
You can still have a pseudo fast charge using a USB-PD (Power Delivery, up to 27W) compatible charger. However, it won't be as fast as with OnePlus' WarpCharge (or OPPO VOOC) .
