[Completed] Flashing custom roms - XDA Assist

Hello everyone,
I am a beginner and just recently i managed to flash Cyanogenmod 10 in my Sony Xperia S (LT26i). But, I would like to test more custom ROMS in my phone (for example existenz v.1 or v.2). In order to do that, do I have to repeat the procedure from the begining each time (booting img file, and the the ROM and then the appropriate gapps zip in recovery mode)?
Is there a guide or guidline for flashing roms in general?
Thank you very much for your time.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
If you managed to flash the ROM in that way then that procedure will be the same also for the other custom ROMs for your device.

[Q] Black screen and tremble

I tried to install CM12 in my Xperia M2
But it is unsuccessful
I am not sure that my phone is D2305 or D2303
But D2303 was written on the package box
I was following the method and steps in this video
with cm-12-20150126-UNOFFICIAL-eagle and boot-recovery.img from galaxyfreak
One more thing is
After I installed the rom and select reboot system now
It respond that the root access possibly lost and ask me fix it or not...
Than black screen and tremble are present and I can feel the heat of the phone
I am very unhappy with the result and feel hopeless
U must follow instructions in rom threat... some roms needs to be installed over specific rom. Like here. U need flash via flashtool official 4.3 , flash kernel with cust. recovery and then flash CM. Follow instructions
thank you so much

I finally understand " You have to be on STOCK before doing this! Flash stock FTF (look into M2 general section)"
And I installed CM12 successfully
The touch sensor improve so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Trouble installing CWM/TWRP on ROOTED & UNLOCKED Xperia L with Stock FTF

So, I have a ROOTED & UNLOCKED Xperia L which creates problems while installing a Custom Recovery. At first I tried the TWRP 2.8.7.0 which just wouldn't boot the phone and after using the Flashtool to reflash the Stock FTF; I tried the Rashr app and Minimal ADB and FastBoot to flash Recovery as well.
In every case the phone either wouldn't boot or just stay with TeamWin Logo Flashing intermittently.
I wonder what nooby mistakes are letting this kind of thing happen.
Long Story short - I need a decent custom recovery image (download link) that works on a Stock Xperia L that helps me take a full backup and the steps to install so I don't end up using the Flashtool everytime.

Hello..
I think ist better for you to install a custom recovery frist
after that you can make a nandroid backup using the custom recovery...this is important..because you will messed up..it will event android guru messed up their device once a whaile..
after you have the nandroid backup..you can flash any custom ROM for your devices..to find a devices please use the search bar at the top..
after you gain enough knowlage to build a custom ROM you can compile it for your devices..but for starter I highly recommend you to use any custom ROM for your device first
cherees
Thanks for your reply brother.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Trying to install a custom recovery or custom rom not designed for your phone is likely to brick it so I wouldn't recommend it. There is no custom recovery for your device on xda but here is an excellent guide if you would like to try yourself
