I have recently purchased an Umi Hammer S which I am really pleased with and have found easy to use. One thing that's annoying me is I can't work out how to adjust the settings so I just have a notification sound for text messages. At the moment every time I get an email, go into a wifi area etc I get a notification sound. Please help. Thanks x

how to stop sound of notification ?

Hello
When i receive an sms, i have a music for about 30 secondes.
What can i do to stop this music before the end ?
Can i do this with some buttom ?
Thank you for your help !!!
nobody to help me ???
if you click on Start Menu > Settings > Sounds & Notifications and then the notifications tab, you should be able to turn off the sms notification sound or change it something erm..shorter?
30 secs is a long time for a sms tune!
Thank you for your help but my probleme is not how to disable the notification, but how to stop ( with a buttom for example)because i am on call all the night for my job and i am called by SMS. I want to stop the ring when the SMS arrive, before all my family is wake up. (my wife is not very easy.Does i change her :??)
Thank you for your help
Why not simply choose a shorter SMS notification? Maybe one that lasts only 2-3 seconds?

You are called by SMS??? That's stupidest thing I ever heard. Isn't phone call better?
However, how fast do you usually react when SMS tune starts to ring?
If you're fast and don't want to wake up your wife, choose shorter tune.
If you're slow and your wife wakes up most of the time, you have two options:
- Change room in which you sleep when you're on call, or
- Change wife
I know that this is not quite answer to your problem, but I have no better one at the moment...

[Q] App to one touch silence notification while phone is locked in pocket?

Maybe somebody here has the programming skillz needed to make this app, but I want to be able to one touch any hardware button to silence a notification AFTER it rings. All the answers i get are to trim my ringtones down more, or get these apps that set up profiles. I like my ringtones where they are, and the profile thing is not what what i need as i have different times for things each day so....
the problem scenario:
I am sitting in a meeting-class-dinner-movie... Etc Etc, anything like that and BAM, I get a text message. It so turns out I forgot to silence my phone before, so here I am with "Dancing Queen" from ABBA playing in my pants.
Current method to deal with said problem:
Either stand up, or lean way back, Pull phone out of pants, Press a hardware button to unlock, Slide to unlock, Enter design code thingy or pin code, and finally, Pull down notification bar to silence "Dancing Queen"
Idea App solution: Hear notification (SMS, MMS, Email, etc) ringtone play, Frantically reach down and press ANY hardware button and instantly silence the ringtone.
Can anybody do this?

DOn't know what phone you're using, pretty much every Android phone I've seen has something like this.
Don't know which phone u are using but my Desire is muted when I press VolDown during an incoming call....
DROID X: and yes, during phone calls, that works. But I said notifications. Emails SMS, MMS, etc.....

App to one touch silence notification while SOUND IS ALREADY PLAYING.

Sorry for the Caps, but I asked this question a few months back, and all I got were apps to set up profiles. I could care less about those.
I want a process running in the background that will allow me to silence an incoming notification (MMS, SMS, Email, FaceBook, Battery Low, Connected to computer, etc etc).
Example: Sitting in surprise meeting, and forgot to silence my phone. If I were to get a phone call, I can mash the hard buttons through my pants, and the ringtone goes silent, just like that. I want that functionality for a notification sound. Say, somebody sends me a text message, and for that individual i have "Bye Bye Bye" from N'Sync as their ringtone.
If that were to happen in the meeting, I would have to adjust, pull my giant phone out of my pocket, wake up the screen, unlock it, then pull down the notification bar. By the time I silenced the phone, the song would have through the second verse, and my reputation shattered.
So, if theres any apps like that, I would love to know about them.
Current phone Droid X with Liberty 1.0 ROM.
Any one?

[Q] No notification sounds during phone call?

Is there any way to turn on notification sounds (for new text msg or email etc.) during phone calls?
I find myself constantly taking my phone away from my ear during calls to check if there are any new notifications since the sounds get muted during call and find this kind of annoying. Seems like this should be a standard option, no?
Turn on pulse notification light in display.
You really talk on the phone so much and receive so many notifications that this is a problem?

Notification pulse is turned on - that has nothing to do with sound. It bothers me because notification sounds worked just fine during calls on my Galaxy Nexus.
If I talk on the phone for 40 minutes but I get an important text message 5 minutes into the call that needs a timely response, yes, it is a problem.
Anyone have any ideas? This is an annoying issue.
+1. I'm looking to see if there's a solution for this.
Yes , I need to know the answer to the same , because missing out on important messages are a fear when I am on long calls . Thanks .
Anything new on this? Just got my Nexus 5 and I'm having the same issue.
Use tasker. Make a profile that makes a short vibration upon receiving a notification. You could use a sound instead of vibrate, but imo that would be annoying for you and the person you're on the phone with.
Nexus 5 issue.
There's a simple solution for this., just go into your settings>sounds and notification >interruptions. Here you can edit what notification will interrupt you while being on a call.

SMS notification sound doesn't play if SMS arrives after screen turns off

My S6 and S4 did this too, so I'm wondering if there's a workaround.
If I'm having an SMS conversation with someone, while the phone is in my hand, I get the SMS notification sound as normal, but then I put the phone down next to me and if a new SMS arrives somewhere between the screen turning off and the phone locking itself, there is no notification sound and so if someone adds something to the conversation, I inevitably miss it until next time i check my phone.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? is there a workaround? Thanks
it has been like that for alot of the samsung phone. I dont think there is a way to change it.
Normally i just reply and back out of the app before leaving the phone
