App to one touch silence notification while SOUND IS ALREADY PLAYING. - General Questions and Answers

Sorry for the Caps, but I asked this question a few months back, and all I got were apps to set up profiles. I could care less about those.
I want a process running in the background that will allow me to silence an incoming notification (MMS, SMS, Email, FaceBook, Battery Low, Connected to computer, etc etc).
Example: Sitting in surprise meeting, and forgot to silence my phone. If I were to get a phone call, I can mash the hard buttons through my pants, and the ringtone goes silent, just like that. I want that functionality for a notification sound. Say, somebody sends me a text message, and for that individual i have "Bye Bye Bye" from N'Sync as their ringtone.
If that were to happen in the meeting, I would have to adjust, pull my giant phone out of my pocket, wake up the screen, unlock it, then pull down the notification bar. By the time I silenced the phone, the song would have through the second verse, and my reputation shattered.
So, if theres any apps like that, I would love to know about them.

Any one?

Long alert sounds

This is something that has been bugging me for a while with Windows Mobile...
If I set an alert sound for New Text Messages for instance, and it's a long sound, then the whole thing gets played even if I open the text, or dismiss the notification. Most other phones shut up as soon as you perform some action. Is there any way to get WM to not play the whole alert sound if I've responded to the alert?

Mute everything but the ringer at night?

I don't have a land line & leave my phone charging on my headboard at night. My wife has gotten really ticked at it vibrating & making noise whenever it gets an E-mail in the middle of the night.
Is there an easy way to mute everything but the normal phone ringer (still want to get calls in the middle of the night if they come in)? I don't want to mute the phone entirely, as I could miss emergency calls. I'd love to have it quiet everything at a certain time, or at the push of a button, or by running an app or something easy.
The wife is currently threatening to fling my phone out the window if it wakes her up again, & I don't want to disable the sound/vibrate entirely as it wouldn't be effective during the day.

a couple options...
Change Activesync to use off-peak times and set email delivery as manual so that you have to tell it to check for mail during off-peak times. Then you will only get sounds emergency calls, drunk dials, emergency texts, and drunk texts in the middle of the night. This also assumes you don't have any reminders set to sound at midnight...
Use a profile app like G-Profile or PhoneAlarm to control advanced automatic switching of profiles/sounds/notifications based on time of day and day of week or other advanced switching options.
the version of htc volume overlay i have lets me turn the volume down on system all the way while keeping the ringer one up.

[Q] App to one touch silence notification while phone is locked in pocket?

Maybe somebody here has the programming skillz needed to make this app, but I want to be able to one touch any hardware button to silence a notification AFTER it rings. All the answers i get are to trim my ringtones down more, or get these apps that set up profiles. I like my ringtones where they are, and the profile thing is not what what i need as i have different times for things each day so....
the problem scenario:
I am sitting in a meeting-class-dinner-movie... Etc Etc, anything like that and BAM, I get a text message. It so turns out I forgot to silence my phone before, so here I am with "Dancing Queen" from ABBA playing in my pants.
Current method to deal with said problem:
Either stand up, or lean way back, Pull phone out of pants, Press a hardware button to unlock, Slide to unlock, Enter design code thingy or pin code, and finally, Pull down notification bar to silence "Dancing Queen"
Idea App solution: Hear notification (SMS, MMS, Email, etc) ringtone play, Frantically reach down and press ANY hardware button and instantly silence the ringtone.
Can anybody do this?

[Q] Selected sound notifications while phone is set to vibe?

I'm a guy who likes his phone to be as quiet as possible. It's always in vibrate. However, there are times where I'd like to hear some notifications, say text messages or calls from people I'm expecting, or other events relevant at the time but everything else is still suppressed to vibration. Is something like this possible through an app, or is it something that requires a bit of modding in Android? It's more convenience and definitely something I could live without, but it'd still be nice.
Make sure your phone is set to vibrate on all events. Change the ringtone of what you don't want to vibrate to a silent ringtone, and what you do want to ring to an audible one.

[Q] Sound and Vibration Management

Hello to all,
Company I work for has finally moved from mandatory issued BB's to BYOD. But, I have to admit, the BB Profile Management is very good and lets you tweak most everything regarding sound, vibration, and LED.
My goal with this post is to discover if it is possible create an APP that will interface/manage the sound, vibration, and LED on my Android device.
I have a an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 at version 4.1.2.
I very much would like to have similar Profile Management like BB. There are a lot of apps out there, but so far the ones I have review fall short of managing vibration.Profile Flow and Llama are good, but very short of what I want to do.
I want to create this app for myself as a challenge.
Also it appears that the only hope of doing this is to first root the device, which I have done so on mine.
In case you are not familiar with the BB Profile Management, below is a matrix of what a user can do.
For the most part, BB Apps (Phone, Calendar, TODO list, events, notifications, alarm, alerts, E-mail, SMS, etc...) that have anything to do with sound, vibration, and LED will be listed in the Profile Manager.
When you create a Profile, in that profile you can control the following.
Sound: For each app you can have a separate Volume Level, None, Progressively Louder Volume, or Tone in the selected Profile.
Vibration: For each app you can have a separate Vibration scheme; no vibration, number of vibration pulses in the selected.
LED: For each app, you can have a separate LED scenario; color, flash rate for the selected Profile.
In some case, you can control the combination of Vibration and Tones:
1. Vibrate and Sound at the same time.
2. Vibrate for x number of pulses and Sound for 5 seconds together.
3. Vibrate for x number of pulses, then Sound for 5 seconds after the Vibration has stopped.
Examples:
Night:
Phone Call, vibrates first, then rings (with its own sound file), gets louder over time.
Alarm Clock, vibrates and Rings (different sound file), gets louder.
Alerts, short tone, no vibration.
Meeting:
All sounds off
Vibrates only for e-mail, and text messages from Family Group
Outside:
Crank it all up
I think I got the point across.
So the $1m ?
Can this be done, can an app intercept request to the speaker, vibrator, and led and modify what it does based on a configured Profile?
I am looking forward to your response.
Thanks
Have a Great Android Day
Keith
