Everyone don't wet it! The update will contain Band 12 VoLTE and E911. VoIT is in question? I got this info from higher tech support. Took about 4 days to get official answer. I believe this is the reason why we in the good old of USA haven't received this update sooner! They are working out possible issues with this radio update for marshmallow.
it's been known for at least a week or even more (on g+ post)
I will believe it when it is released.

So you can't wait a while lol? At least we will be able to take advantage of sd card. Oh and the phone is cheaper. Patience is rewarding. My old note4 had its last update in March I think to major software update from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1. 1 month vs many months. I'll take it.

Do plenty of research first. I sent my 6p back because after 4 days of normal use the frame was twisting. It would no longer sit flat. I carried my phone in my front pocket as i have done with all my phones. I also had much worse reception. I constantly dropped to 3g at work whereas with this phone I don't. If on Verizon there is also no visual voicemail so if you have advanced calling enabled you get text messages instead of a notification that you have voicemail periodically. Your mileage may vary but I couldn't wait to be rid of it.
*edit I'll also leave this little gem

Same here.. got the phone.. it's working as it should be.... there are some fixes you can get from the dev sections... not like this phone came out the box broken that MM was going to make it feel like a totally different phone from what I bought...
You know Nexus phones get the updates right away.. so why didn't you just buy the Nexus instead of the MXPE? Sounds like a personal problem...
C'mon, apologists. Waiting a few extra weeks isn't the end of the world for most of us, but it should've been out by now, given Moto's near-stock software design. The fact that it's taking longer to update their brand new, revolutionary, carrier-free flagship than some competitors' heavily-skinned, carrier-variable models is a very bad sign about Lenovo's priorities.
If 11 months from now we're finding out that the MXPE will not be receiving Android N at all, we can probably look back to this episode and say: "you know, we should've seen this coming." I'm enjoying my phone, but I absolutely don't blame anyone for hedging in favor of the 6P despite a few weaknesses (no expandable storage) because of Lenovo's poor showing this past 3-4 weeks.

Can you link to where Moto/Lenovo gave the MXPE an exact date of when MM was going to come out? Last I heard they were rollin' it out in phases... and even then, there were no exact dates... if peeps want to spend more on the 6P/Nexus and not worry about delayed updates, then they should have bought it, but yet, they didn't and are complaining about the "slow" updates on the phone(s) they 'decided' to buy instead..
Go to the dev section and install those MM updates posted there if you guys are really that bent on getting MM on your device...
I can wait, nothing in MM that I really want, much less need, anyways...
A few weeks is nothing. We'll get it.
This isn't like the Atrix and ICS, where the phone was out for a fair bit and also canned once google bought Moto. The phone is new. If other regions are getting it first, then that's just how the testing works.
They really don't want a repeat of Lollipop. I heard horror stories on how badly that update botched the 2nd Gen Moto X.

Do those dev section roms include T-Mobile B12 & VoLTE support??? That's what many of us are waiting for. If it was only a matter of wanting MM then yeah, that's a no-brainer, but no way I'm going through all that crap for a rom that doesn't have the T-Mobile support I've been waiting for all along.
From what I can tell there is no band 12 in the Indian mm but doze works ****ing wonders on this phone even completely stock. I'm on modded marshmallow now and will switch to official mm when its released. Simple enough

Really did you just ask this question? We will get 4.4.2 and even the next update our phones are 6 months old hell moto is updating the RAZR and M how old are they. I so tired of all the negativity against lenova and stupid posts like this one. Fear mongering that all this post is about. Unless you have something of probative value on this subject do me a favor and keep your ? To yourself.
The Lenovo deal is not finalized yet. Google still owns Motorola.
Why would Lenovo not want to update the phone? Also, Motorola is still rolling out updates to the X, after the Lenovo deal was announced. The Lenovo deal was negotiated late last year, and updates still continue. Motorola just announced a new watch that was developed before the deal. Frankly, I don't think anything is going to change.
Lenovo is going to want to start out by keeping their active customer base happy... The first thing they don't want to do is piss off everyone they just acquired. I'm certain Motorola will roll out 4.4.2 before Lenovo takes over. Lenovo should keep updates coming at least until they have their own line of superior phones.
A buyout like this isn't over night. Can take a couple of years to finalize.
Why does everyone care about updates so much?
Wasn't there talks from Google about phones will only receive updates until they are 1.5/2 years old? Or do I have the times wrong.

Kinda but you have it backwards. It was that they WILL received updates for 18 months but that has never really been a firm thing and it's still up to providers. This doesn't mean they will stop receiving updates after that 18 months though. Motorola has shown a willingness to update timely and I have no doubt that will continue. I'm sure the hold up is playing the Verizon game.
From what I understand its not really Motorola that holds the updates. Its Verizon they receive the update for said phones and they add their little programs and secret squirrel crap to the update before the consumer receives it.

Look at there android tablets. I havent seen anything of updates on them in a while.
It's going to be a while for 4.4.2. David Schuster just said on his g+ page " I understand your frustration, we are also frustrated. We have been working to get you this upgrade as quickly as we can but there have been some unforeseen delays with requirement changes. We are actively working on getting you this update."
In other words Verizon is insisting on more ways to make your phone theirs.

All they have to say is NO. But they won't. The Droid line Motorola has made for years any other provider would take if they could get it. TMZ started with these crazy loud videos playing that you couldn't pause or turn off the volume about a year back. With Android 4.4 Google said NO and now the app crashes each time it try to open with a video ad.
If Samsung, HTC, and Motorola got together and stopped letting Verizon screw up there software with extra crap it would all be fine. Apple said NO.. Guess what.. They still sell the iPhone.
Motorola is contracted by Verizon to make the droid branded phones for them. This isn't like the X, or the HTC one, or the samsung galaxy or note phones, or the lg phones - Verizon hired Motorola to make the droids, rather than Motorola coming to Verizon with a phone to sell. Moto has no choice but to follow Verizon's specifications. They can't say no, and they definitely can't update the phone without Verizon's approval.
The iPhone is completely different. The carriers are begging apple to sell the phone, rather than the other way around. Apple has power in that sort of relationship that no other phone OEM has, and probably will have for a long time, if ever.
David schuster said the fix would take "a number of weeks". So, by the end of May? Is that really that long a time?

Should I get the OPO, or wait for the confirmed OnePlus Two? I mean, in a blog post, 3 winners of a photo contest get hands on w/ the two in hong kong. It's coming in Q3. Should I wait? Or gun it? I am stuck w/ an apple iphone 5 so :/
You should go for it. The price doesn't get better than what it is right now, $249 for the 64GB, and $349 with one year of Dropbox Pro. Plus, I read somewhere that OP is going to use the invite system to sell the OP2, which unless you don't mind the hassle is kind of a pain in the ass. I am keeping mine until I get more details about the OP2, if it doesn't come with a fingerprint support, I will probably move to next Nexus 6, but keep the OPO as my back up phone.

If I was faced with the same decision I'd still buy the OnePlus One now. It's cheap, you don't need an invite anymore, and it's a beast of a phone. The OnePlus Two isn't going to be as cheap, and they'll be reverting to the invite system again.

It's hard to know to be honest... I've had the OPO since July of last year and, as everyone in this thread has said, it's an amazing phone, and that doesn't even include the price. I would say it depends on what you're interested in. If you like having the 'latest and greatest' phone with the newest CPU / GPU and most RAM (like me ) etc, I'd wait. But if you just want a great phone that will be able to run the next few versions of Android and all the apps in the world (minus some future games that require OpenGL ES 3.1 or something, but that's a good way off yet!) and has a great community to back that up (even when OnePlus leave it behind), as well as an amazing price, I'd go for it.
Had the same kinda question facing me. Stick with my Nexus 5 until the end of the year when the OP2 or new Nexus' are out, or go for the OPO.
Went for the OPO. Blows my N5 out of the water and will take me until the end of the year. If the phones i mentioned above are too expensive I'm happy keeping the OPO into next year.
Helps i got £100 for my N5.
Feels like such a premium phone. Took it to work on Friday and people were amazed that it cost so little.
Still a fantastic phone for the price had mine well over a year and still going strong was considering upgrading this month but I am sticking with the OPO for longer. It does everything I need on a phone the screen is still good, battery life is excellent, takes decent daylight photos and is fluid on CM12.1.
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Hey guys, this seems like the most relevant thread to post in, but I agree with some of the previous comments, I really like the specs on the OPO, I currently have an HTC M8, with the same chipset, which runs phenomenal, however AOSP ROMS aren't the best for HTC Devices, they've always suffered from a lot of bugs, and GPE support has started to lag behind with the M9 being out.
I just purchased a 64gb model and am anxiously awaiting for it to arrive. My question is, how is the overall build quality of this device? I wasn't impressed with the N5 build quality and from videos and pics, this phone looks solid, but I've read about numerous users complaining about touch screen issues. Is this phone pretty solid? And how are AOSP ROMS on this device? Pretty bug free? Thanks!

It's their fastest phone, but the chance of M is probably 20/80. Chance of an unlocked bootloader, 5/95. I'm curious about a stagefright 2.0 patch.

I hope you're wrong about 20/80 for Marshmallow. The phone is only ~6 months old and abandonment by LG would be a pretty miserable business decision. As far as unlocking bootloader, we'll more likely get that unofficially as a result of developer effort (highly unlikely without some LG tech leak) but overall the odds are probably even worse than 5%, especially for those of us with AT&T model.
If there will not be a 6.0 update for this device, i'm gonna buy a freaking iphone and never look back on android ... srsly, i'd be done with it and its fragmentation bs forever. Vendorlock me to apple crap.

Intuitively, logically, and reasonably we should expect Marshmallow and the rumors floating around on the android sites are a good sign, but personally I won't bank on it until LG puts out something official. The original Flex was release only 9 weeks earlier than the Flex 2 the prior year (Oct 27 2013 versus Jan 5 2015) and the first Flex never saw Lollipop.

The Flex and G2 had the same SoC, yet LG abandons it with no apology to users. I can't even find a reason for why they'd abandon a phone with those specs while it still had KitKat. Heck. I don't even understand why KitKat never came to the ATT LG Optimus G despite having the S4 Pro.

I see where you are coming from here, but I think that the flex 2 is much better and more popular than the original flex. I don't fully understand why the deep price cut, but it will dramatically increase sales no doubt.
Sidebar: Thanks again to help me confirm I had bad sensors. I sent the phone to LG for repair under warranty and they replaced the entire screen. When I got the phone back it was updated to 5.1.1, so now I don't have to worry about trying to coerce an OTA (sweet!). Battery life is stellar so far and no heat issues. Marshmallow would be a real treat (pun intended) on this phone, so I will stay hopeful that we'll get it (eventually)
Anyway if LG doesn't keep his word, I won't buy his device anymore
6.0
LG Flex 2 IS getting Marshmallow, U can bet your S'mores on it.

How does the screen look compared to note 4? I ask because i love amoled. I also like the fact the flex is not seen much in the hand around my parts,of town. Lol. I see development is lacking. Guess no loki? Wonder why sprint would sell the flex 2 with locked bootloader? Oh well. 5.1.1 and up should fix all the lag. Can anyone one tell me what it is about MM that has you feeling all this discontent? I'm confused, is MM going to transform your phone into this vastly improved device? Is this a groundbreaking upgrade frome the current operating system? Someone please fill me in because I want something lame to be mad at.

Outside of permissions control, what do we get in MM that we do not already have? I can understand Nexus users clamoring for it as they don't have half of the features out of the box as OEM devices but why us? Further, where did this notion that Samsung drops support of its flagships within a year come from. I have used Samsung devices including an S3 (ICS to KK), N3 (JB to Lollipop), and N4 (KK to at least MM) and all have been supported for 2 plus years. The Note 5 will get the same treatment.
Although I don't totally agree with those people who get all up-in-arms about not having the update, I can see the main point (at least I think): it may not bring super increased functionality or any brand new features, but the principal alone is what makes it frustrating.
Samsung, Tmobile, whoever it is should ensure a device, that is hardly 6 months old mind you, gets the newest update in a timely matter. There is no reason a phone released two years ago (HTC M8) should have MM before the Note 5. That's just simply not right.

Not to mention Note 5 is close to being two Android versions behind, with Android N already in testing.

Really bro, come on? Now I want to know what this said..
In other news, its not about being upset at people wanting the update as much as it is about people creating threads to talk about the damn thing.
This is the same topic repeated over and over. This is pretty much crossed the line into spam.
I see all the other versions that got MM and they all seem to be having issues.
I'm fine waiting if ours comes nearly bug free.
Lollipop runs pretty good on mine, great battery and pretty smooth for the most part.

The guy who posted that link is correct, but the guy lives in Tijuana, Mexico which means his phone is the international version.
Here is the link to his post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-note5/general/march-marshmallow-update-t3327363
Good luck,
Have a great day!
Coming from alot of updating on multiple older versions 4.0 & older i have to say I'm satisfied with the note 5 & lollipop software, long way from Ice cream sandwich
Something that is coming with mm is good lock, which looks like it might be fun to mess with.

Because somebody had to make this thread lol. But seriously...it's been almost half a year since MM was announced. This is beyond ridiculous.

You're absolutely right brother, but watch out! We have update haters that'll cling to your thread and troll about how stupid it is to want to update your Note 5.
Samsung and T-Mobile forever lost the little respect I had left for them. The best thing to do is to use your Note 5 as a paperweight, because it died the moment you purchased it.
I also decided to make all future purchases with Apple. Apple's doing things right as of lately.

Hi guys I just need your opinion.
Should I buy this phone or wait for the new coming phones realease this year?
I don't want to spend a flagship price tag at the time being and this phone price looks pretty appealing.

Honestly I think this phone is really good, having said that though I am in the process of returning mine. Just look at the lack of activity in these threads for this phone and lack of custom roms, if you are happy with stock phone then get it otherwise theres hardly any custom stable roms unfortunately and there sadly seems to be a lack of devs here for this phone.

Hi thank you for your reply. Yeah I think I'm just gonna have this phone stock. May I know what is the reason for you to return this phone?

If you don't need to mess with custom roms and stuff, get it.
Is really a bargain for the specs.

I just purchased one from B&H photo. I was going to get a new one, for $110 off the purchase price, of a 32 or 64gb version. But they had used white 32gb version, 9 out of 10, for $219 free shipping, so I got that. It will be here Friday. Hope it is in good shape. For $219 can't go wrong.

Yeah I'm about to pull the trigger on that deal as well. I kinda wish it comes other the doctor strange bundle.
They're a bunch of used one on ebay for around $250 ish (no original box), but for $40 more I would rather pay for a new device or reputable seller.

U got a real result there mate.
I have had my honor 8 for a few months now and I love it.
I hadn't rooted Etc and staying with stock on this one for a good while.
I know that people ain't happy with the custom ROM stuff that's happening or not happening.
This will change though, off you read what the devs are saying over on the custom ROM thread they are saying that they are working on thier own sources for Lineage 14.1 and once they have that sorted all of the other ROMs will quickly follow.
If I could start again with this phone would I still buy it knowing what I know about honor's lack of involvement ??
Yes I would for sure. It's a great phone with great specs.
I also have access to the pixel and I honestly prefer my Honor 8
John
It's a very good phone, fast, stable, good battery life and a very nice looking design. As other members said, if you plan to root and want custom rom i'm not going to recommend it, but if you stay stock, go get it. I got like one month ago and i'm happy, i didn't made root, i'm running B360 (Android 7.0) on FRD-L09 and everything it's just perfect. I like the EMUI 5.0 a lot, idk why a lot of people hate it. So, as i said, if you don't care too much about development go get it.

Well said that man
Thank you for your input guys. I did ordered one yesterday.
Yeah I feel like this day and age its kinda ridiculous to spend $800 and up to get a smartphone.
For the people that owns the phone, have you guys received Android N update yet?

Yes I have had the N update for a while.
It's all running very well, very smooth, I'm not finding any bugs.
My flat mate has the pixel and his phone is not running any better than my Honor 8
