The android 6.o is coming, will Flex2 have chance to update? - LG G Flex 2

Hope our flex2 will get the updata~
http://en.yibada.com/articles/59349...lex-2-lg-g-flex-lg-g4-lg-g3-lg-g-pad-10-1.htm
some website said we will, but no official information about the update

Doubt it

Lg is unpredictable..... Lol

All i want is my unlocked blootloader, 6.0 will be cool, but all i can pray for is that Lg blesses us with a unlocked bootloader.

It's their fastest phone, but the chance of M is probably 20/80. Chance of an unlocked bootloader, 5/95. I'm curious about a stagefright 2.0 patch.
Sent from my LG-H950

The article mentioned that the LG Flex may not get Marshmallow, the LG G Flex2 will get Marshmallow, no doubt about that.
And yes they hopefully fix the Stagefright 2.0 bugs too.

Do you have an LG source for your certainty that the Flex 2 will get M? LG has a pretty poor track record -- the first gen Flex never got Lollipop.

I hope you're wrong about 20/80 for Marshmallow. The phone is only ~6 months old and abandonment by LG would be a pretty miserable business decision. As far as unlocking bootloader, we'll more likely get that unofficially as a result of developer effort (highly unlikely without some LG tech leak) but overall the odds are probably even worse than 5%, especially for those of us with AT&T model.

If there will not be a 6.0 update for this device, i'm gonna buy a freaking iphone and never look back on android ... srsly, i'd be done with it and its fragmentation bs forever. Vendorlock me to apple crap.

Intuitively, logically, and reasonably we should expect Marshmallow and the rumors floating around on the android sites are a good sign, but personally I won't bank on it until LG puts out something official. The original Flex was release only 9 weeks earlier than the Flex 2 the prior year (Oct 27 2013 versus Jan 5 2015) and the first Flex never saw Lollipop.

The Flex and G2 had the same SoC, yet LG abandons it with no apology to users. I can't even find a reason for why they'd abandon a phone with those specs while it still had KitKat. Heck. I don't even understand why KitKat never came to the ATT LG Optimus G despite having the S4 Pro.

I see where you are coming from here, but I think that the flex 2 is much better and more popular than the original flex. I don't fully understand why the deep price cut, but it will dramatically increase sales no doubt.
Sidebar: Thanks again to help me confirm I had bad sensors. I sent the phone to LG for repair under warranty and they replaced the entire screen. When I got the phone back it was updated to 5.1.1, so now I don't have to worry about trying to coerce an OTA (sweet!). Battery life is stellar so far and no heat issues. Marshmallow would be a real treat (pun intended) on this phone, so I will stay hopeful that we'll get it (eventually)

Anyway if LG doesn't keep his word, I won't buy his device anymore

6.0
LG Flex 2 IS getting Marshmallow, U can bet your S'mores on it.

Guys. And gals? I am needing to snag an upgrade. I have note 4 ...The real reason is to get my bill down with the new pricing on easy pay. But on 16th they will go up 10 bucks. So ive been searching hard. 810 rumors are rampid. Id rather ask you users. Has the throttling stopped since the updates? Was this really the korean model? Or? How does the screen look compared to note 4? I ask because i love amoled. I also like the fact the flex is not seen much in the hand around my parts,of town. Lol. I see development is lacking. Guess no loki? Wonder why sprint would sell the flex 2 with locked bootloader? Oh well. 5.1.1 and up should fix all the lag. Please if you feel you might have some front facts on all this i hope u would give me all your opinions based on ownership. Thanks.

ive owned alot of phones in the last few years includes iphone 6+,iphone 6, oneplus one, lg g3,note 3,lg g2 and down the line. And im guessing it was korean bloat along with 2gb ram...? cause i have the att gflex 2 with h950pr rom installed and this phone flies and i have not seen any problems with performance. this is my favorite phone so far, just really like the design and speed. :good:

Sweet. So like myself youve had plenty of latest flagships. How crisp is the screen? Any pentile effect? Or is it as sharp as say note 3 or 4?

First thing I noticed was how much better the screen looked imo then the note 3 not as good as g3 sharpness but close and colors are better since its amoled.

If LG doesn't support the G2, this will be bad for upgraders

I have to say this here, if LG does not give the G2/Optimus G2 a software upgrade to take advantage of the new UI found in the G3, and some LG features in the next 7months after the T-Mobile G3, this is bad bad news.
Yes, the G2 has KnockOn and KitKat now. If the G2 never gets the improved UI of the G3, when the G4 comes out, G3 owners will be left without features. LG needs to support their devices, and I hope they continue.
I love my G3, but I really wish this was a new Nexus phone, because G2 and G3 users may have to wait ages for Android L after whenever it comes out.
Rule #1 of buying a new phone... Never buy it for what it COULD be... The phone functions perfectly fine on stock firmware... And there is only a few things in the LG G3 that have more function than what the G2 comes with now..... Its a pretty big upgrade physically, but not too much under the hood.

^^^^THIS.
LG has done much better at supporting their devices than Motorola. Just ask all of us that bought Cliq, Cliq2, and the other model (I can't recall it's name). On purchasing the device it had a release date for gingerbread. The date was moved back for 2+ years only to have Motorola state it device was unable to run gingerbread. Within two months Motorola released a exact clone of the Cliq2 in Korea.
Leaving all stock phones on android 1.6, which is a huge difference to 2.3.
Manufacturers are in the business to make $$$$, at some point they will drop updates. If a user gets 18 months of updates, consider ourselves lucky. Just my two cents.

While I agree with you, LG is also just as guilty, Motorola has stepped up their updating as of late, hopefully it will last with Lenovo. I have never seen an update for LG F6 a nice midranger. I feel in the Android 4+ era the manufacturer should support a minimum of 12 months or at least 1 Android upgrade. With flagships this should be 18 months, especially since flagships have stagnated in the last 3 generations. I don't see how they can keep up these incremental updates and expect people to shell out $500+ unsubsidized or subsidized. I guess they assume whoever couldn't upgrade last year, will this year, but when the following update is once again nearly the same performance, I myself would not upgrade and hope people are smart enough to see that. Luckily thanks to xda we don't have too much to worry about, but I feel the manufacturers are shooting themselves in the foot. If this trend continues I see people going for the upper level bang-for-buck midrangers and upgrading those every 2 years. Just my thoughts, sorry for the rant
FYI it's not just Motorola, all manufacturers are guilty. My daughters last two phones have not had one update. One an HTC and one an LG.

[Q] Heat problems fixed after 5.1.1 update?

I really like the look of the G Flex 2 and want to get 1, but the things I read were mainly overheating and underperformance issues with the SD810 soc. So now I read some positive things after the 5.1.1 update, so my question is does the H955 version run cool and well after this update or is it the 810 afterall?

If you buy the euro version of lg g4 you can also unlock your bootloader officially (but no warranty)

Well im from Holland so it will be a euro version, and 1 year ago orso lawyers had a case about rooted phones with no warrenty. They were succesfull and since then you keep your warranty unless you destroyed the phone due to that( think Samsung even repairs bricked phones for free but that aside). So every other thing falls under warranty here even if the manufacturer claims otherwise

Good News for the G Flex 2!

Just announced at CES 2015 that the G Flex 2 is confirmed to be getting Android 6.0 AKA Marshmallow! Here is a link:
http://www.slashgear.com/android-marshmallow-update-coming-to-lg-g4-g3-not-g2-27399720/
So the phone is definitely not dead, surprised that the G3 might not get the update, for those who was debating between these two phones.
Well, low popularity doesn't mean dead. It's barely half a year old anyway. Great news indeed though.

Well these are great news !
I just got the H959 TWN version. I think I love it more than my G4 H815 except the Camera.
Flex 2 is so much more snappier than G4 and surprising not as hot the G4. The Curve and the RED back cover is nice. I don't really miss the leather back. Now I have 2 devices to play with. Best of the Best LG .......Life's Good!
Ya, I made a post a few days ago about it getting gooey goodness. This phone is a beast. I love it.
Of course this phone is going to get it. It's still new and just came out this year if there was folks thinking the opposite then idk what to say. Now the big question is when do you think this device is planning on getting 6.0? That's the big question, so far I've been running Android M on my nexus 6 for some time and it is great very nice update and I'm guessing it will roll out and be official around October or somewhere around there so I'm curious to know how long from there will it take the flex 2bto get it.
Good news will be when I find this fcking phone on ebay <270$ :'(
Anyway its good, but lock bootloader deprives custom ROMs.
Indeed good news! Some of us that called the phone "dead " we meant the lack of custom roms and in general the lg,s decision of not unlocking bootloader.
Even with m it will be also dead from developers perspective.

I can not get 6.0 if they will unlock bootloader in 5.1.1. There is lot of bad things on stock rom. Small difference between max and min display light, alarm volume and lot of more mistakes!

The high minimum brightness is there for reason. Lower brightness = more grainy display.
I doubt LG will fix that in some update. You can use app called Darker - works great but picture gets more grainy..
Grainy display and no manual camera are my main issues with this phone.

Marshmallow update for MotoX Syle (Pure) 2015

Everyone don't wet it! The update will contain Band 12 VoLTE and E911. VoIT is in question? I got this info from higher tech support. Took about 4 days to get official answer. I believe this is the reason why we in the good old of USA haven't received this update sooner! They are working out possible issues with this radio update for marshmallow.

Do plenty of research first. I sent my 6p back because after 4 days of normal use the frame was twisting. It would no longer sit flat. I carried my phone in my front pocket as i have done with all my phones. I also had much worse reception. I constantly dropped to 3g at work whereas with this phone I don't. If on Verizon there is also no visual voicemail so if you have advanced calling enabled you get text messages instead of a notification that you have voicemail periodically. Your mileage may vary but I couldn't wait to be rid of it.

Same here.. got the phone.. it's working as it should be.... there are some fixes you can get from the dev sections... not like this phone came out the box broken that MM was going to make it feel like a totally different phone from what I bought...
You know Nexus phones get the updates right away.. so why didn't you just buy the Nexus instead of the MXPE? Sounds like a personal problem...
C'mon, apologists. Waiting a few extra weeks isn't the end of the world for most of us, but it should've been out by now, given Moto's near-stock software design. The fact that it's taking longer to update their brand new, revolutionary, carrier-free flagship than some competitors' heavily-skinned, carrier-variable models is a very bad sign about Lenovo's priorities.
If 11 months from now we're finding out that the MXPE will not be receiving Android N at all, we can probably look back to this episode and say: "you know, we should've seen this coming." I'm enjoying my phone, but I absolutely don't blame anyone for hedging in favor of the 6P despite a few weaknesses (no expandable storage) because of Lenovo's poor showing this past 3-4 weeks.
So, go to the dev section and install MM...

Can you link to where Moto/Lenovo gave the MXPE an exact date of when MM was going to come out? Last I heard they were rollin' it out in phases... and even then, there were no exact dates... if peeps want to spend more on the 6P/Nexus and not worry about delayed updates, then they should have bought it, but yet, they didn't and are complaining about the "slow" updates on the phone(s) they 'decided' to buy instead..
Go to the dev section and install those MM updates posted there if you guys are really that bent on getting MM on your device...
I can wait, nothing in MM that I really want, much less need, anyways...
A few weeks is nothing. We'll get it.
This isn't like the Atrix and ICS, where the phone was out for a fair bit and also canned once google bought Moto. The phone is new. If other regions are getting it first, then that's just how the testing works.
They really don't want a repeat of Lollipop. I heard horror stories on how badly that update botched the 2nd Gen Moto X.

Do those dev section roms include T-Mobile B12 & VoLTE support??? That's what many of us are waiting for. If it was only a matter of wanting MM then yeah, that's a no-brainer, but no way I'm going through all that crap for a rom that doesn't have the T-Mobile support I've been waiting for all along.
From what I can tell there is no band 12 in the Indian mm but doze works ****ing wonders on this phone even completely stock. I'm on modded marshmallow now and will switch to official mm when its released. Simple enough

Unlikely.

yeah, "got" MM. Just a fraction of devices got the update while majority is still officially on 5.1.1.
At least getting 7.0 on a snapdragon 810 is remotely possible... maybe LG decided to skip MM and go directly for nougat. But then again, why would they. They've probably already fired the last engineers involved in the development and nobody remembers last years flagship phone, even though there are DOZENS of users like us waiting desperately for a newer firmware
There will never be 7.0 for Flex 2 . Please guys, just be real..
