That's messed up... you should try low pressure blower.... btw this is mbetty.. have been that happen before and that solution worked a few times... different devices tho
Wow that's very disturbing. Hope you find a solution and now I have to stop leaving my note on the floor and onto a table or something.

There must be a hole between lcd screen which let an ant to go under it. Im sure that hole will cause some dirt to go inside as well which later can create something like a dust cloud inside. Those are common issue with htc device. Htc sensation exactly..but i never heard its happen to sammy product before..keep crossing finger..this is something to worry about

Have you been to the store to see if it is under warranty? And what they told you?
Supposedly the screen should be sealed. I think! Or not!
Just contact Samsung and ask them what you should do. Obviously this should not be possible.

I'll attempt blowing some can air into the speaker grill. If that fails ill contact Samsung cuz I bought this from amazon.
if it's still eligible to return, send it back to amazon and just say that it wasn't working properly and you'll get a replacement in a day or so.
ask me how i know....lol.

Could have got in the micro sd slot and crawled around. I worked in the field years ago for a cable company, a lady called in and said her cable box LED display was cutting off numbers so 8's looked like 3's and so on. I went to here house and noticed about 20 roaches inside her box!

Wow that's bad. I would not want to touch anything in that house. Would have to disinfect like the biochemist do.
Hold a vacuum cleaner hose up to wherever you think he got in and maybe it will suck him out?
the memory card slot has always been covered...and i honestly cant see him crawling in through the speaker grill. its way too tiny
Maybe the charging port? Either way tablets are not air tight, and the ant got in.
Pretty sure Amazon can work with you as well, I have always had good customer service experiences with them.

So its been about 2 days so far and the phone is awesome....BUT....not too impressed on the plastic material design.
Should I be too worried when theres like a heat wave with temps around 100 deg F???
Will the phone "warp" or "bend" or will the plastic melt a little?
Ok ok ok....of course, I will not leave it in the car during a heat wave...Of course I will not do that. But what if I walk around with the phone in my pocket. Will the phone warp or bend a bit during those kinds of temperatures?
Battery life is awesome!!!! Well, because I disabled Wifi, NFC, and all pretty much everything including GPS and for about 2 days now, battery level is still around 70%
But, I really dont like the material and I dont know how will this be impacted during a heat wave.
Whats your take on this to all?
Thx

The OP is asking a serious question.
Mine turned into ice cream in my pocket on a hot day. Had to throw my pants out. Phone was never seen again.
But seriously, no it won't melt or warp at those temperatures. Do plastics in your cart melt or warp on a hot day? Most likely not.

LOL???
Please, this is important to me as I love this phone and I am just afraid that it would be damaged during a heat wave or extreme hot temperatures.
So seriously....Can I take my phone outside during a heat wave with those kind of temperatures?
Even if its in my pocket?
Just afraid that the screen or the phone would warp or bend.
Like I said, of course, I will NOT leave it inside a car during a hot day....But, I would like to carry it with me in my pocket.
Thx!

I'm pretty sure your phone will be fine, unless there's something you're not telling us. You don't by any chance live inside an active volcano, do you?
Every day for last 1 month was hot day here in India before the recent rains that cooled things down couple of days ago.
36-38°C was daily normal high. Did nothing to my 2 SGS4s.
It takes way higher than 100°F to melt or even soften the polycarbonate. My sister has spilled a piping hot coffee on SGS3 back which used similar material without any damage.
So no, 100F is nothing for these phones.
You will always have horror stories of people magically breaking their phones by doing nothing. Those few are there for every device. I have seen them in SGS3 forums, Note forums, HTC One forums and so on.
Those are not the norm. These phones are not the toys made to be used in nice temperate climate only.
THANKS !!!!!! For the quick help on this.
Makes me feel better now.
Don't worry, samsung qc usually already test usage in extreme temperature (-20 ~ 50 celcius). Even there is user youtube video for this test on s3.

The warranty says it doesn't cover psychical damage. If I have to pay for phone again, I'm gonna get Sony Waterproof phone, no point in wasting money on something inferior. Of course you have to pay if you dropped it in water. Sorry, but why would you expect to get it replaced for free?
Just because this phone isn't waterproof, doesn't mean it's an inferior product. Almost all phones aren't waterproof.
Warranty doesn't cover accidental damage. It covers manufacturer defects. You dropping the phone in water is not a defect. Not of the phone anyway
Unless you have insurance, you'll be buying a new phone.

It depends. There are water indication stickers placed inside the phone that change color when they come into contact with water. If the water never reached the indicators, then they have no proof. BUT the indicators are always put in places where water is most likely to go first, so even if you had your phone out of the water quick enough and dried it off, it still probably wouldn't have made a difference. I say do the right thing. Instead of trying to commit fraud, just buy a new phone.

Either way you're not going to see it in a screenshot. I once had quite a long conversation about a guy who thought dead pixels would appear in his screenshots. He then started calling android ridiculous because it didn't have that feature.
This guy is obviously trolling, nobody could be stupid enough to post a screenshot thinking it would show physical damage. Just report the thread and don't feed into it anymore.
edit: This thread feels vaguely familiar to me. Pretty sure someone tried to troll here a while back with the exact same scenario, posting screenshot and all.

Does anyone have suggestions for a waterproof case for the LG G3? I see mostly cases for iphone and Samsung.
This thread would be more at home in the Accessories section.
More towards your question, the G3 is more or less waterproof on its own honestly. I've seen a water test with it on YouTube and also my phone ended up getting soaked like crazy in a freak rainstorm and everything is perfectly fine haha

The LG G3 is NOT waterproof nor does it even meet water resistant classification requirements. Thinking it is will just get you in trouble.
Sure, phones today are sealed up a little tighter than before. I think glue is more commonly used in the manufacturing process now. But the G3 does not have a back that seals, nor are any of it's buttons or ports sealed. Therefore it is very easy for water to penetrate and kill your phone. It may not happen every time (hence the videos), but don't be dumb and expect your phone to survive any contact with water. You may consider yourself lucky if it does.....

Just because LG didn't take the time/money to pass a super vague "test" to be certified doesn't mean that it isn't. Plenty of phones these days have been tested externally and shown that they are in fact water resistant. Most blow that crappy 3' for 30 minutes "test" out of the water. See what I did there? I'm of the belief that the LG G3 is NOT waterproof. It may be resistant to water splashes but compare this phone to any waterproof device from phones, to cameras to watches and you can come to a conclusion that this device is not waterproof. I have seen that video as well but I doubt few if any who doesn't have money to throw around will attempt that.

I've seen those videos, but you are the one telling the OP that the phone is basically waterproof. You are telling him to risk his phone based on your expertise. You should also have to put your money where your mouth is and swim with your G3 for 20 minutes and post the result.

You need to calm down man. Its okay to voice your opinion but being rude about it doesn't help anyone. This thread isn't even asking if the g3 is waterproof he was asking is there is a WATERPROOF CASE for it like the lifeproof for iPhone.

It was suggested that the OP doesn't need a waterproof case because the phone "is basically waterproof"
I'm just calling bull**** where I see it. I also don't consider my post rude. If people claim the phone is waterproof, then they should be willing to test their theory with their own personal phones. Otherwise they should shut the f-up. Now THAT might be rude, but I'm fed up with people claiming to "know" stuff, and then not back it up. If the OP follows their advice, then he risks ruining his phone while they haven't risked anything themselves with their "expert" opinion. So I'm calling them out.... to all the people on this thread that have claimed that the G3 is "basically waterproof" - prove it with your own phone.......

You win, no one is going to go willingly put their phone in water. That being said, I'll still not care about it not being certified for water resistance. I'll take the videos for enough as they are to not be paranoid about water (which I never would be to begin with) clearly you've got more issues than needing to prove himself to the internet though. You should seek help
The OP asked a question about a water-proof case. Going off on a tangent about how the phone might survive on its own adds very little to the topic. Please keep it on topic from here on out.
Possible option
Thus far, I have not found an actual "case" for the G3 that is waterproof, but I found one on Amazon. Just search for "Buku Wireless IPX8 Certified Universal Waterproof Phone Case Bag W/ Armband Neckstrap and Earphone Jack" ( I can't post links, as I'm a new user). I've used a variation of this for an iPhone a little while ago, and recently used my sister's, which was more like the one found here, which had room for her IPhone 5, old school hotel room key (not a card), and cash, and have not had any issues whatsoever (it kept out water and sand with full functionality). I can't speak to this one found on Amazon, but I've ordered one. While it's not a case in the traditional sense, it does offer waterproof protection, with the ability to take pictures. As an added bonus, it has an armband, which is great if you want to run or cycle when there's a chance of rain, or swim with it. I can post a review once I've gotten it and had a chance to use it.
I know it IS off topic, but with regard to what previous users posted, but I personally wouldn't recommend operating under the assumption that the phone itself is waterproof, or even water resistant for that matter, though I have dropped mine in a urinal and peed on it without any issues. I certainly would not put my own phone to the test.

I haven't examined mine. The reason I haven't, is that I'm OCD and will most definitely find SOMETHING on any phone I get. Well, for all us OCD folks, I highly recommend the Otterbox Defender. We got them for free (normally $50 each) from a TMobile rep hook up via telephone sales. For me, it's not a problem about what will happen to the phone if I drop it or anything, it's more about obsessing over there being a problem with it right after opening it up. Screen coloration issues, scratches, etc. And the worst part is having that thought that, "Well I could exchange it and get a perfect one. There's always that chance." That's never worked out. I've returned and exchanged so many phones just from obsessing. The solution is to just use the phone. Not matter what. The 4th R: (read the book Brain Lock for info on the 4 R's). Do what you would be doing if you weren't having this obsession.
