Help! Phone not rebooting

I tried to install the kexec recovery and my phone is rebooting the whole time. It says installation aborted. What do I do?
Was able to flash the back to stock zip. Am I supposed to flash a rom first before I flash the kexec kernel?

How did u try to install the kexec recovery easiest way if your are rooted is download ez recovery from play store. Choose version 6 not not touch or twrp and flash recovery then reboot recovery u will then have successfully booted into a kexec recovery

So all I do is start ez recovery then cwm 6.x then reboot? Then I can flash a rom?

should be in clockworkmod/backup on either the internal storage or external sdcard depending on how you have it set up. The latter requires the card being formatted as FAT32 atm though.
Is there anyway I can switch it to external sd? It saved to my internal. Or will it save to external if I change it to fat32?

There should be a backup to external sdcard option in recovery that will work once the card is reformatted.
Sorry don't mean to be annoying, but if my card is fat32 it would have automatically saved there?

Not that I'm aware of. When you go into backup and recover in cwm there are multiple options. The standard backup or restore options go to internal. The ones labeled external go to the removable sdcard
And if it's not fat32 will it tell me it won't work?

Forgot the exact error but the first and second options for backup and restore are the only ones that work if it's exFAT.
Okay, also if I do backup from internal will that wipe everything on there if I wipe data? Kind of a stupid question but just want to make sure.

Part of the internal storage is labeled as sdcard and protected from the data wipe in cwm. Otherwise you'd be sol'd if you wiped data and then wanted to flash something.
Haha yeah just wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot for answering my questions!

Use ez recovery for gs3. It makes things really simple. Make sure to get cwm 6.1.0 for k exec or else you will not be able to boot. And all ways back up your current ROM for safe flashing

Flashing Odin back to stock keeps failing
I got stuck in a bootloop and have been trying to flash back to the factory image from samsung-updates.com and it keeps failing. Im trying to find a different stock image to see if a different file will work. Any help would be appreciated
On the guide vzw gs3 edition there one step 3 go to the RootzWiki link and there is a revert back to stock image.

No root needed, it will flash the recovery from download mode. It won't touch your data.

As Romman0 said, your data will be safe. The bootloader contains boot info for 3 different partitions; Android, Recovery, and Download/Odin Mode. Modifying one partition doesn't necessarily modify another. If you find an Odin package that is only the recovery image, Android partition (where root is located, if rooted) is unchanged

i cant flash anything in twrp everything i try to flash says failed. other than that twrp works fine. any ideas why?

Usually might have to reboot recovery in TWRP before flashing. Normally with Catalyst that is what it requires me to do and all works fine.

Yes, I have done it countless times. It wipes the system partition thus removing the pattern lock and the system apps.
User apps are not removed if you uncheck the data partition.

CM12 to CM11

So I was trying to get back to CM11 from CM12 via fastboot commands. Everything went fine until the "fastboot flash system system.img" command. It gave me an error (screenshot in the attachment). Now I'm stuck with TWRP recovery and fastboot. Can't boot in system. When I reboot the device, it boots and goes into TWRP recovery. I have CM12 backup in my device and on the PC. Can I flash that? Please help guys.

How did you install adb/fastboot? That error usually occurs because of an outdated adb/fastboot version. It's probably safe to restore your backup.

Did you wipe first? You'd need to perform a full wipe before flashing the zip. To do this you go to the Wipe menu in TWRP, then select Advanced Wipe, select system, data, cache, and dalvik cache, and then swipe to wipe.
Is there any reason you chose such an old build?
