Always-on Clock?

is there any app out there that would keep my screen awake to display a clock, (ideally with alert for new text message and calls) and not drain the battery too much? Nokia phone used to have the feature and my friend's Nokia 603 supports it too. i wonder if there is an app on Android as well.
Cheers!
What about leaving screen on and using the native "clock" app? Lol beautiful and built in ...

leaving screen would not let my phone sleep and terminate unnecessary apps. plus not to mention i would have to turn brightness to zero every time i want to leave my phone, and it would be prone to touch as well!
I think alarm clock extreme has that feature.

Open clock- press and hold screen. Idk what the difference is.. I guess I'm confused how you want a clock with screen on and not be prone to touch ???

I believe NoLED on the market has that and gives you notification options as well.

[REQUEST] A stock-like ROM that directly ports features from the Moto X to the Moto G

I think many users would love to have a stock based rom that has most of the moto x great features, such as active notifications, flick wrist camera gesture, always on voice commands. Any dev here looking for a challenge?
It's not possible without GREAT battery drain.

Yeah, maybe the always on voice control would too much. But the rest would be great.

Not just the voice commands, Active Display is meant for AMOLED screens as they are able to keep black pixels turned off, saving a of battery. The screen on the Moto G would require to completely lit up even on a black background. That pretty much defeats the concept of AD, imo.

Droid mini has active display and it has an lcd screen just like the moto g, doesn't noticeably drain battery.

I wasn't aware of this. You're absolutely right, the Droid Mini does have Active Display.
After googling a bit, though, it seems that the Droid Mini's AD works a little different than the X's; it makes use of other sensors to turn the screen on based on the user's proximity.
We seem to be looking in the wrong direction with this Active Display thingy

Moto G shuts down very fast

Hello,
I just bought my Moto G today, When i press the Power off button, it vibrates and screen goes to black very fast. In my previous phone, it took sometime to turn off. Is it an issue or working fine.
Thanks.
Absolutely the Droid 3 was like one of fastest shut downs I ever had. So I can imagine the g can do it better
