Hello!
I've had the stable CM11 for some months now and my WhatsApp history keeps on deleting itself! I have a Galaxy S4 i9505. I would have to reinstall WhatsApp to get my previous backup, but that only backs up at 4am, so everything from the current day is gone. Now with the new update from WhatsApp, this is getting more frequent and more annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a fix? I could live it with before as it only happened every couple of months but now its every couple of weeks. I use WhatsApp as my main source of communication between my friends and I so this is really cumbersome.
If you know a fix, please do tell me.
Thank you!
Hello,
there is this strange issue I am facing at the moment:
When I boot up my phone, there is internet, I can browse via Chrome, I can fetch mails and everything.
But after 10 seconds, 99% of my connectivity is gone. Chrome says, "Oh no! there is a problem with the website" I am trying to visit (every website). Tugabrowser force-closes then, Aqua-Mail tells me the SSL-Certificate is invalid, Youtube just closes without any error. I can search for apps in the PlayStore and see results, but cannot download anything.
It doesn't matter if I try it using the LTE-connection of my phone or using WiFi.
When I reboot the phone, it works completely for the first 10 seconds and then I get the same problems.
To complete the strangeness: WhatsApp and Spotify work every time (I mean even after those 10 seconds, when everything else stopped working).
Help is highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards
Hecke

Tried clearing the Cache of Contacts app, cleared data, cleared unwanted SMSes, all in no use. Please suggest some work around.

It's not solving the issue of battery draining..
It seems like it solves the contacts slowness but the battery draining is huge!

Same issue
Started several days ago.
LG G4 contacts very slow to find a name. When answering a call, only number displayed without a name.
Viewed device CPU per app and the contacts storage app (android.process.acore) consuming ~15% CPU almost all the time.
Have no idea what happened but phone quite useless, as searching for contacts takes very long time.
Anyone has an idea what to do or what happened?
Sad to face problem with the primary usage of a phone - contact and calling

Try this: Remove accounts from accounts and sync from settings which you are not using. Mostly you might have lot of google accounts linked to your mobile use your primary account and if there are some accounts which you are not using please remove it or sync limited google apps with those apart from primary account.

Why do you want to make a new thread and not want to continue here ?
Hi guys,
I am facing a weird issue with my Whatsapp as mentioned in the title. The Whatsapp keep stopping/force close when connected to the internet (either by WIFI or mobile data).
I have a LG V20, Nougat with latest version of Whatsapp installed. It was all good until a few days ago Whatsapp showed the error message "Unfortunately Whatsapp has stopped". It gave the options to open the app again or send feedback. When clicked on open app again, Whatsapp opened for a split second then showed the message " Whatsapp keeps stopping" and gave the options of close the app or send feedback. When opened Whatsapp again, it force closed and keep repeating the same error.
I did not update my phone nor done anything to it. I have the latest Whatsapp version installed before the error occurred. However, about 2 days before the error occurred, I did remove and re-add Google account. I don't think that would cause Whatsapp error as I don't register Whatsapp through Google account and during those 2 days Whatsapp was operating normally. I don't do backup to Google drive, all backups were done locally on phone.
I have done almost all necessary solutions to fix the error but none of them work. I have:
1. restarted the phone
2. rebooted the phone into safe mode
3. cleared cache and data of Whatsapp
4. uninstalled and reinstalled Whatsapp from Google play store
5. uninstalled and reinstalled Whatsapp from Whatsapp's official website
None of the above works. The Whatsapp will force close when the phone is connected to internet. Until recently I noticed that, when the phone is totally disconnected from internet, Whatsapp can be opened normally. With the Whatsapp opened and I connect the phone to internet, it immediately show the error and force close. How strange is that?
So now, I only can type messages in offline mode and press send before connect the phone to internet. The messages can be sent out by keep opening Whatsapp repeatedly. Incoming messages are delayed and no notification at all, I have to periodically keep re-open the Whatsapp to check for new messages. When there are new messages I have to read them in offline mode. This is so frustrating.
I googled and the only one came to this:
OnePlus Community
Introducing our new OnePlus Community experience, with a completely revamped structure, built from the ground-up.
forums.oneplus.com
They seemed to have same problem (with different phones) with me and no solution.
In the mean time, I am also contacting Whatsapp support team, but their replies so far did not answer my problem.
Any solution to this weird issue would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
I got my new S22 Ultra a month ago..i installed whatsapp..it stucks during restoring chat history…but i overcome this problem by forcing stop the app during the restoring process ( a solution i found after reading many threads.. untill nw it works but um afraid one day everything is lost. Also it takes much time to save hundreds of stickers again)..then everthing is ok for a month till 30 september 2022.
Since 30 September 2022, My WhatsApp has been messing up pretty badly. Over the last five days I randomly (and this is true - no errant reboots, no app crashes, etc.) get the error message "Something went wrong with your chat history" on WhatsApp, which has a Restore option under the dialog box. This is practically useless as the progress bar never successfully completes, but even goes back at times.
This forces me to reinstall WhatsApp, and pray that I don't have to start with a new chat database again. Because it takes multiple attempts to get back on the app. And i can't restore hundreds of stickers. This plunges me into another time lag, as the app's verification put in progressively increasing wait times every time I reinstall. Why i got this message over last 5 days every morning???How can i solve it without taking the restore option as it took me 5 hours trying to restore chat history and stickers???I hope you response quickly..
I have tried many solutions: clearing cashe..turning airplane mode on and off..reset networks settings…turn the mobile on and off…unrestrict whatsapp from battery saver…remove the backup at google drive..close whatsapp from recent apps…during trying to solve the issue, i noticed one day that the error occurs during backup is being uploaded to google drive so i choose never to backup to google depending on the local backup but i unfortunatley woke up the next moring and the error occurs once it was searching for new messages.
Please help to retrieve a permanent solution specially as i found many people suffering from this for months in many threads...
Hi, you probably need to let the program fully restore the chat database... Can you leave restoring during night, for example, when your don't use the phone? Did you give the app the proper rights to access storage, etc?

I tried but it always stucks at different points and if i leave it, it fails ending to an old group chat history... although when i force stop the app, the chat history is back completely.
