Hi guys,
I have this phone from my mother and it can't update any apps anymore. If I look at the storage tab I get the image attached. Is there any way to fix this? Although it says there is still 1GB available it says there is only 200MB available for apps. Is there any way to relocate the 1GB for apps? I moved all the apps that where possible to the SD card but still can't update. Is there any way to fix this?
Kind regards,
Bart

I had same problem. Go to the menu from where you move applications to SD Card. Choose the ones you use more often. like Internet browser, Social media apps, etc. Tap "Clear data" button to clear data. This way you free up some space.

I was just over at ppckitchen, and read about mxip_notify.vol growing out of control if you get a ton of email notifications. Check to see if you have any databases that are out of whack (use total commander and view hidden files). SK Tools is also helpful for clearing storage memory.
i found it in the end... it was some opera downloads that is whacks in its own folder...
took ages to find but used something called spacefinder plus that only has a trial until november..

God, it's really a big earthquake when people like me who have a phobia on serried objects see the pic in it. But-thank you very much for help and it's a nice and interesting app.
Nexus S Free Space After Wipe
What's the free space on your NS? I've got about 6 apps downloaded. A couple are games but other than that, none to big. My internal storage shows 834MB free. How much space is available for internal out of box? I really don't want to wipe to find out. Currently it's sitting at 860
The phone has a internal SD card.. so it says you have 800+ of internal phone space but you also have a additional 13gb+ of internal SD space.. so no worrys..

even though it's a bug
When I try to install something new I get this error.
Checking my partitions showed that I have free space.
What can I delete to clean up some space? In which partition do I need to do this?

Hi,
Some people go so far as to put all their apps from play store on SD card since they want to keep all their phone space and RAM free for a faster phone.
But to do so they need space the SD card So less media (movies & music) on it since they are the memory hog. If ur Rooted, the memory hog is ROM backups. So if u use ROM manager go to that file and only keep the backups u need.
The only suggestion I have is to keep all system apps on ur phones memory for faster accessibility.
Good luck

Hello everyone, I have an issue with my sdcard storage. I delete ALL the data, including files and folders of sdcard but it seems like 900 Mb are taken by some invisible files. I flashed CM11 with TWRP 2.6.3.3 again but the problem is still there. I formatted the internal storago with TWRP.
This can be for Google play music songs? I saved some albums on phone to use without internet conection before last flash of rom.
Sorry about my english. I hope you can help me. Greetings and thank you very much.
This captures are both with phone after flashed and nothing on SD.

It's nothing big. The OS reserves some space only for apps so it reflects on the computer.

I think the problem is with Google play music. I selected to download to device some music and then flashed the phone. I think all that rubish is music. Furthermore, I have problems with music reproduction, apollo and google play music, both goes really slow and usually the apps break. I think the problem is on ****ing google play music old files. I format the internal sdcard with TRWP but the files are still there! Facepalm... Please help :crying:

SD card is fine, but upon further testing I think the phone storage is lying and is only very small
Do you have root? Some Samsung phones (I don't know if it applies to clones too) fill /data partition with log files (many MB every day). You could navigate to /data/log (or similar) and delete all *.log.gz, *.txt.gz
A handy tool to check where is space wasted is Disk Usage
Also note that some EMMC need reboot to update free space records, so phone may report memory is still full until you reboot.
Ok, thanks for the tips. I have root, and will try your suggestions when I get time.
I think so some phones show the phone memory is full because the app installation space is full it differ to media storage rom so plz go to setting and go to app settings and move the most of heavy app to sd card i think so it may help and try it once..............and doing it power off once and then on it
