Nexus S Free Space After Wipe
What's the free space on your NS? I've got about 6 apps downloaded. A couple are games but other than that, none to big. My internal storage shows 834MB free. How much space is available for internal out of box? I really don't want to wipe to find out. Currently it's sitting at 860
The phone has a internal SD card.. so it says you have 800+ of internal phone space but you also have a additional 13gb+ of internal SD space.. so no worrys..

Its 1 gig of NAND for apps and the rest of the NAND acts as an SD card
Enough for me!!..

Is there any way to let the system ignore that he's below 20mb, so I can at least update all my current apps? ^^

I guess we have something known as dalvik cache in /data so a very low memory of 20 mb would leave you phone extremely slow. Lowering the space even further will make it even slower.
So better free some space or create sd-ext
Perfectly said by allspark
If you ask me, the best solution would be to partition your SD card and use hybrid data2sd. Which rom are you on currently?

Just reodex the rom and you'll get 60mb more free space
Yeah, you could use something like Hybrid Data2Sd. It's the most sweetest gift to mankind!
Check this.

With 80+ apps installed, i have occupied only 16mb in my system
BTW- You can delete the apps which dont require. Eg - Swype occupies 25mbs!

When I try to install something new I get this error.
Checking my partitions showed that I have free space.
What can I delete to clean up some space? In which partition do I need to do this?

Hi,
Whoa, ur SD is full... Take out some media(pics, music or movies)
Then puts some of ur less used Apps on ur SD card.
Then from here:
Move apps to SD card.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S4G using tapatalk2
I moved some of my apps to sd and was able to install new ones.
So its the data partition that get full. What can I delete from this partition to make more space and how?

Hi,
Some people go so far as to put all their apps from play store on SD card since they want to keep all their phone space and RAM free for a faster phone.
But to do so they need space the SD card So less media (movies & music) on it since they are the memory hog. If ur Rooted, the memory hog is ROM backups. So if u use ROM manager go to that file and only keep the backups u need.
The only suggestion I have is to keep all system apps on ur phones memory for faster accessibility.
Good luck

Done hard reset - nothing

SD card is fine, but upon further testing I think the phone storage is lying and is only very small
Do you have root? Some Samsung phones (I don't know if it applies to clones too) fill /data partition with log files (many MB every day). You could navigate to /data/log (or similar) and delete all *.log.gz, *.txt.gz
A handy tool to check where is space wasted is Disk Usage
Also note that some EMMC need reboot to update free space records, so phone may report memory is still full until you reboot.
Ok, thanks for the tips. I have root, and will try your suggestions when I get time.
I think so some phones show the phone memory is full because the app installation space is full it differ to media storage rom so plz go to setting and go to app settings and move the most of heavy app to sd card i think so it may help and try it once..............and doing it power off once and then on it
Just to be on the safe side: LG G Flex 2 Stock Android 5.1.1, not rooted

My problem is even though it says that 1.1 GB of the app is on the SD card it really isn't, it's still taking up internal storage. Or have I wrongfully assumed that App (SD Card) means it's on SD Card?
If I move to SD card, then back to internal and then back SD card only around 20 MBs are moved and it says under App (SD Card) 1.12 GB.
Any suggestions?
Also, should the System Data folder be 7 GB in size? Because it's pretty hefty : D
2 solutions either wait for android m where we can use a sdcard as internal storage or root
When you move an app to sdcard always some percent of data stays in internal storage
I think that my phone stock 5.1.1 had 9gb free out of 16gb.
Thanks for the response mate.
Yeah, I know it won't move the whole app, but what makes me wonder is why it says that most of it
is supposedly on SD, but it still takes internal storage (dunno why my earlier upload disappeared).
Is that just some kind of quirk of the Lollipop?

You can move apps but not the data files
Hi guys,
I have this phone from my mother and it can't update any apps anymore. If I look at the storage tab I get the image attached. Is there any way to fix this? Although it says there is still 1GB available it says there is only 200MB available for apps. Is there any way to relocate the 1GB for apps? I moved all the apps that where possible to the SD card but still can't update. Is there any way to fix this?
Kind regards,
Bart

I had same problem. Go to the menu from where you move applications to SD Card. Choose the ones you use more often. like Internet browser, Social media apps, etc. Tap "Clear data" button to clear data. This way you free up some space.
