Verizon - Visual Voicemail APK - X Play General

Anyone who may be using this phone on Verizon... I hope you can help me test something.
Motorola released an app to allow Verizon VVM on the Nexus 6 and MXPE running 5.1. The Nexus 5X and 6P, while not Moto devices nor on 5.1, don't have a suitable replacement.
I can't download the app below because I don't have an MXPE or N6. If someone could download and share the apk for me to test, it would be awesome. You'd be helping the community a ton, if it works.

Thank you in advance!!!

Ignore... found a friend with a N6 and they downloaded the apk.
"This app is not supported on this device"
Kinda what I expected. Extracting the apk from a VZW phone just makes the app force quit.

Current Google Dev Phone

I am just starting to develop apps for android and was looking at getting a dev account. My biggest reason at this moment to get one would be to buy a google dev phone, as there is no way im posting my "Hello World" app up on the market. My question is what is the current google dev phone and is it like any phones that are currently out. I know it used to be the nexus one but they received their last shipments of these almost 8 months ago.
Any help would be great!
Thanks
I'm a registered developer and google offers the nexus one as developer phone (530$ as I remember). If you'd like you can buy the Nexus S which is in the same price. What's the difference between these two phones and any other android phones? Maybe the faster updates, and the support

[Q] Fate of Google Wallet Tap & Pay

I have been a user of Google Wallet Tap & Pay since it first started. I am currently running it on my Verizon Galaxy S3 with Alliance Rom 22. After all the painful process of getting it to work (NFC Fix, build prop, etc), Google is killing Tap & Pay on all devices <4.4. I'm a fan of Touchwiz roms for some of the features, but I don't want to give up Tap & Pay, especially as new retailers are finally starting to integrate it.
I will need to upgrade to 4.4.2, and there is still an issue with the current S3 NFC chip (NXP) not being compatible with the new HCE. Does anyone know of a fully working ROM 4.4.2, AOSP based, or a 4.3 ROM with this functionality available? Do I simply have to wait for 4.4.3, and lose Tap & Pay until it drops?
Thanks,
Alan
Since Verizon has their own competing product and never supported Google Wallet, I think your chances of having it in any version of Android except by hack, like you currently run it are slim. Its doesn't seem that Google really wants to be in this payment business anyway judging from the very limited market penetration and lack of retailer acceptance.
Host Card Emulation, or HCE is not a new chip, its a new method. It allows Google to bypass carrier rules that prevent an app from accessing something as integral as an NFC secure element. Instead, it would use just NFC safely. This means that Wallet users were no longer limited to Sprint or Nexus devices, so maybe there is a chance. But I see Google's lack of marketing for tap and pay as an indication that they may let it die unless they find more marketing partners.
For more insight into Google wallet fail mode, see this interview with its creators.

I agree with everything you just said above.
My question isn't if Google Wallet will be supported - it never has been on Verizon with the GS3, and likely never will.
While HCE does not require a NFC secure element, it currently does not support all NFC chips - there are numerous threads regarding this. Some device manufacturers have added code to make HCE work with the NXP NFC chip in other phones, however Samsung has not done this. The rumor is that 4.4.3 may add this coding.
What I am looking for is the best way to keep my Google Wallet hack options going forward.
If there is expected to be a TW based rom with the elements from 4.4.3 that will allow Wallet to work, I would go with that.
Otherwise, I may as well switch over to an AOSP ROM in the hopes that the next version will allow Wallet to work again. The deadline for the death of tap and pay is 4/14/14, so I'll have to make my decision soon.
Has anyone confirmed HCE working with SGS3 on a 4.4.2 rom? Or are we all dependent on the soon-to-be extinct Secure Element?
There is hope!
There have been some articles in the past few days about mounting evidence of a 4.4.2 update for the US versions of the S3. Both Mashable and JustAboutPhones have printed leaks of the update being in the final testing phase, with possible release in the first week of May.
Both articles quote support for NFC Tap and Pay.
With Verizon, this doesn't ensure we will be able to use Google Wallet Tap and Pay, as I'm sure they will do everything they can to cripple it in favor of ISIS. However, I'll bet code can be ported from a Sprint ROM that will allow a Custom TW 4.4.2 ROM with this functionality.
I hope Beans and the AllianceRom team will be looking at this - I miss my Tap and Pay.

Tap and Pay was very cool and easy to use. Main reason I rooted my Verizon S3. Lost that ability when I upgraded then soft bricked my phone. Got it back and rooted, and looking for a ROM to load that will support Google Wallet and Tap and Pay...
I've found the link to be able to download the Samsung Pay Beta .apk file but I haven't figured out how to get it to install. Does someone else want to try? I'm stuck on a Samsung S6 Edge running 5.0.2. I wonder if you have to have 5.1.1 to run it.

US Link - https://us.mpay.samsung.com/apk
Here's a download link for the Samsung Pay .apk file I found on the Korean link. It lets me install it on my Samsung S6 Edge+ running android 5.1.1.

I called today and they told me to download the Samsung Plus app from the Google playstore. I downloaded it agreed to the terms and logged in and then inside the app there was a link that said "Join Samsung Pay Beta". So far it doesn't do anything, but it seems promising that it might work tomorrow after the beta has officially begun.

Knock Code Lock (from the LG Stylo 2+) on the Note 5? Can anyone find it?

I don't mean those cheezy version(s) on Play Store or that knock-off version from X-Posed. I'm wondering if anyone could pull a stock firmware, from the LG website, and extract the code and get the "original" one ported over? I owned a MS550 and loved that app and it's the only thing i ever really missed from the MS550 because the MS550 is like the "poor man's" version of the Note 5 but it's a damn good attempt, the stylus is incredibly accurate.
Honestly, EVERY attempt to copy this app has been a dismal failure with bugs or apps that make people jump through hoops.
I would "buy" it, out-right, if someone had the original working on the Note 5 because it's just so much easier than all of the other lock solutions on Android. I've been through them all and knock-lock is simple and effective.

Requesting iPhone 5S 10.3.3 signed ipsw

Hi guys.
I know my question might sound dumb, but if some one could help me out it would be really helpful. So I'll explain my situation right now...
I purchased this iPhone 5s from Amazon and the seller was not an official retailer, instead this guy was selling unlocked US variant of iPhone 5s 16gb (at least this is what they said on Amazon site). And till 10.3.3 I had no notable issues, but ever since I jumped to iOS 11 (not BETA) my device started heating up & battery drain was immense. So I felt maybe I should do a factory reset, and I did so, then it turns out that, my device won't activate. I searched everywhere and couldn't find a solution for it and even if there is, then this SHSH blobs come into picture, which I wasn't aware of until I got this issue. Hence I do not have SHSH blobs for my device and Apple stopped signing iOS 11.3 and below versions. And activation through iTunes is saying that it's not able to obtain activation information from the device.
But then I stumbled upon a post where some guy mentioned that refurbished device cannot be activated starting from iOS 11. So I need someone's help, someone who has a signed iOS 10.3.3 update downloaded during the time when Apple was still signing them. I'm not sure if this would work, but I wish someone could share it with me. If anyone is having a copy of it kindly help me out...
These are my device details:
Model: A1533
Current firmware: iOS 11.3.1 (GSM)
Internal: 16gb
Thanks in advance.

[Q] porting App

Hi guys, have a general question about building an App for Android.
What makes it difficult to code an app for Android on different smartphones. Why are Apps in the Play Store don't accept my U11 but same App runs on some older Phone like Samsung S6?
It is not about complaining rather try to understand what is the reason. I'm not familiar in programming, just surprised about the fact.
Thanks for explaining a noob what's happen.

Usually not a lot. Try getting the app from apkmirror and see if it installs. Could be that it's built for arm, not arm64
Which app are you talking about? Is it an app by Samsung for Samsung phones?

No, it is Arrim One, I put some money in their Kickstarter campaign and end up with a thank you but our App would not support your HTC phone. They blame Google Play for non support "He told me that the Arrim one uses AR function to detect the objects, distance and do measurement. Thus the phone used must support ARCore function, which is developed by Google. All support devices are listed on Google website"
Is that mean the U11 would not working with Augmented Reality?
That seems to be the problem: HTC doesn't support ARCore with any of their phones. Maybe some licensing issue.

Thanks, I was happy found a phone which sued my expectations for daily use now have to put my eye on upcoming technologies.
Hi. I have bought Arrim One on Kickstarter too. It is great idea behind the concept, however the implementation is bad. I have had LG G5 wich is not supported to be run ARCore, so I change ROM to RR and apply some app package trough Magisk (thanks to good job for RR team as well as Magisk creators and other clever people from community) Anyway, I have got ARCore working on LG G5, but not Arrim One app. So I have decided to buy Moto One Zoom as officialy approved by Arrim Team (https://www.arrim.net/) Now I have finished with new phone, Arrim One app still not working and developer of Arrim One app not answering...
