BlissPop 4.0.3 Bugs on SM-T530 - Galaxy Tab 4 General

Hi. I just flashed the latest BlissPop on my SM-T530 and I have two Problems.
1. I´ve changed the LCD-Density to 160 just to see how it looks like and now I can´t get back to 200. If I open the Avanced Display settings, LCD density shows 200 DPI but that´s not true. Changing the settings seems not to work anymore. How can I get back to 200 DPI?
2. The camera is not working at all. Not just the back-camera.
- The resolution seems to be wrong. Everything is "streched"
- The menu is always in the wrong position if hold the tab crosswise. If I hold the tab upright, the menue doesn´t appear at all.
With the Google-Camera-App, I do not have these two problems. I can even take Pictures with the front-camera (back-camera stocks immediately after activation. I can see a dark picture. With the default-app, there is nothing to see at all. If I change to video, it seems that the front an also the back camera works fine. But although the device indicates to me that it takes up a video, no video is beeing saved.
Is there any way to fix these two problems? Or is there a other lollipop-rom, where the camera works?
If not, how can I flash the [TW][5.02][ROM]T530 ,T530NU,T531,T535 LP deodex 4pda teamwork , Xposed [03.06.2015]? Just download an flash with twrp? I´m a little bit afraid, i could brick my device...
Thank´s for your help

1.LCD-DPI changes fine .
2.Camera is known problem
3. If you want you install T530 deodex rom simply by Odin
LIGHT new version for Odin (only full wipe and flash via Odin) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347840578
or in odinary method via custom recovery

Ok, thank you for your answer. So simply flashing LIGHT new version via twrp should work (I´m asking just to be 100 % sure)?

Ok, it worked with twrp. Unfortunately, the stock Rom 5.0.2 (also the deodexed version) has a lot of lags. For example, piano tiles 2 ist not playable because of the lags (delayed reaction). Bad work from Samsung... So I switched back to BlissPop, which runs absolutely smooth.
I hope, the work on the camera-bug is in progress and that it will be fixed.

I have another issue.
I thought, everything except the camera works fine but one of my apps crashes just after starting it. It's my NAS-App so I use it very often. Zyxel ZCloud. On Stock rom it works fine and it seems, that it normaly works on 5.1.1. So can this be a BlissPop-issue? Is there a way to find out why the App crashes? Can I create a debug-log somehow?

[Q] flash videos full screen problem

HI all.
I own a Galaxy Nexus and Recently Im having a problem when I try to switch to full screen flash videos pressing the small full screen button of the flash player. They are not mobile adapted. The screen just become black and I need to force close the browser.
Im using paranoid android rom "pa-maguro-1.4c-18JUN2012-042608" and kernel "3.0.34-cyanogenmod-gf09409
Few days before I dont have this problem, but recently the Flash Player has ben updated a few times and also the rom. So I dont know if is because updated flash or updated the rom.
I have tried a lot of browsers and all have the same problem.
I also tried to install a old flash player version and well, is solve for some webpages, I can switch to full screen but in most of webpages they ask me to install flash plugin.
Someone know about how to fix this?? maybe installing a specific flash player version not so old but not so new for make it compatible with all webpages?? (if this I would like someone to upload the apk) Changing the kernel or something else?? is a issue of the rom??
Well, thats its. Thanks in advance and sorry for my eng.
sorry for my english

I often have this problem. I tried with another browser, Maxthon or Opera Mobile or Chrome. According to the video site is correctly displayed via a third party application like Video MX. For embedded video on the web page is often a hassle and not very suitable ...
I do not know if it will have helped you but I give you my return the above.
I fixed this problem on paranoid android i9100, by changing to systemUI DPI to something equal to the base dpi. which in the case of the galaxy nexus is 192 in tablet mode and 320 in phone mode.
Yes, is a bug of the Paranoid rom. After uncheck "hybrid mode" the flash works fine.
Returning to hybrid mode the bug still there, and after touching everything I discover is because I changed the status bar DPI to 160 for make it smaller than normal. And making the status bar DPI to tablet mode or phone mode the flash player works fine again.
So is that, the full screen flash player bug is caused by the status bar dpi. If you make it smaller than the default tablet or phone mode the bug will appears.
If someone can report this bug in the paranoid thread will be good cause I can not post there
Cya
I think its because the status bar has to be at the same DPI as your system base, otherwise when flash goes fullscreen, the status bar conflicts flash player because its out of place.
EDIT: it's probably more of a bug of flash player than it is of paranoid.
same problem here

UMI X1s - Official ROM, Custom ROM and other related stuff

Hi,
I'm a proud owner of a UMI X1s...anybody out there who wants to share information related to this phone?
I a found a custom rom to experiment with:
http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/umi/umi-x1s/
ROM Android 4.2.1, Based on ROM Official UMI X1S Version: UMI X1S 20130520-220931
After some minor adjustments (Faster GPS to set the correct continent/region) and adding a keyboard app as input method (only Chinese from the beginning) everything seems to work fine...no crash and very stable...will continue testing and probably switch to this ROM http://www.needrom.com/mobile/umi-x1s-3/ . Does anybody know other custom ROM´s.
Known issues/problems:
- Custom recovery is Chinese (English would be great!)
- I´m not sure if GPS is reliable: sometimes fast fix…sometimes not
- Performance (Apex) could be a little bit more smooth (e.g unlock screen)
- WLAN signal/reach is ok but could a little bit stronger
What really impressed me:
- Design is cool, nice display, good responsiveness, good quality, gyro sensor
What I don’t / I have to get used to:
- No LED, the buttons (home, return, config) are not completely illuminated (only the stripes below them),
- back button sometimes seems to be lazy (does not react as fast or good as the other buttons)
Kind regards,
Floris
I also have an x1s.
It's not that the back button is lazy. I've noticed (and others too) that the real physical back button is slightly to the left of the back symbol printed on the case. Just touch there and it reacts as quickly as the other buttons.
About the GPS, I've also noticed the "now fast, now slow" behaviour, but first, you may need to set it up. One suggestion: go to Google Play Store and look for "Faster GPS". It's an app that creates a custom gps.conf file, based on the continent and region you choose. Since x1s comes rooted by default, you can use it right away, and it improves GPS performance.
Then, in order to fine tune the GPS, you need to access Engineer Mode. The best way to do it is from Mobileuncle Tools app. After entering Engineer Mode, go to the location tab and then YGPS. Go to information and click "Full", then "Cold" and then "AGPS restart". You should get a fix in a short time (unless you're indoors or have little coverage).
Anyway, I've tried Tomtom, Navfree and Sygic, and the latter was the one that performed best.
I have a problem, yet no one could give me a solution:
I can't get into/reach the CWM recovery: only the umi screen is visible whatever I try to do. Firstly I took out the battery to move on, then realised that the recovery may be running in the background cause when I press the power button it reboots, as it's the first item in the recovery to be accepted with the power button. I tried to set back/reinstall the original recovery but it's the same with that. What could be the solution?

Your problem is not unknown. Looks like the latest UMI update, from May 28, is not good and causes that behaviour. The only solution is to install an older update. I did that, and then used one of the roms from Needrom. The update I used is from May 20 and can be downloaded here:
http://ul.to/q69qn8ui
Then go here and choose a rom which suits your needs: http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/umi/umi-x1s/

CM ROM: Not that I know of.
Other Custom ROM: Needrom
Nice to know that there are some other UMI X1s usere out there
For now I´m quite happy with this ROM http://www.needrom.com/mobile/umi-x1s-3/ ...anyone here tried the newer one?
I discovered that GPS comes quite fast I use YGPS (Mobile Uncle Tools)...even if I use the cold method...but if I use google maps it does not work or the fix takes very long :-/
Does anyone know, how to get GPS working?
In YGPS it says Status: UNAVAILABLE and blinking TTFF: Counting.
I modified gps.conf with FasterGPS to my region.
I have EPO and A-GPS enabled and I am using this ROM http://www.needrom.com/mobile/umi-x1s-3/

First, make sure you try it outdoors, 'cause indoors it may take a lot longer to fix a location, or not work at all.
In YGPS, the best way to do it is:
1) Go to the information tab and click "AGPS restart".
2) Click "Full"
3) Go to satellites tab and wait for the GPS to fix the location
4) After you get a fix, return to the information tab and click "Hot"
5) Close YGPS, and open your favorite GPS navigation software or GPS Status app, and see how fast the phone can fix the location. Now you should be able to get a fix in a few minutes maximum.
Thanks, it really helped me. Now GPS is working.

Help choosing ROM and Recovery

Hi everyone.
I rooted my Note Pro 12.2 (wifi) a while back and installed a basic rooted ROM, not CW12.
I honestly don't remember which ROM I flashed. I believe it was just a stock de-bloated ROM, and if it's the one I think it is, in the thread it says that ROM was faulty and dev has stopped for it. I see the kernel version and build in the "about" section under settings but I'm not sure if that number would tell me which ROM it is, or just the ROM and kernal that it was built on top of.
I basically wanted a stock style ROM with the ability to change things as I wanted. I'm still noticing a TON of lag. Scrolling on pages, loading apps, screen lag between touch and actual input of characters when using on screen keyboard, etc etc. I've frozen a bunch of bloatware and other things and it helped a little, but it's still pretty bad.
Audio latency with recording and MIDI apps is very bad, but I know that's improved with lollipop.
Aside from lag, it seems that GPS won't lock on no matter how long Iet it look for a signal (hard to tell if it's the ROM, but my Note 4 has found GPS very easily). Also, my Note 4 (unrooted and stock at this point) is waaaaay smoother and faster than this tablet. I realize we're talking about lollipop vs kitkat, and that the Note 4 version I have is the snapdragon one. But it still seems like performance should be better on this tablet.
So I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a good ROM for me to flash until lollipop comes out for the wifi version of this tablet. I want the stock multi-window functions (4 at a time plus floating windows), so CW12 is not an option. I want to use some of the Samsung apps like s note and Hancom office. I use the s-pen from time to time with the pen apps like write-on-screen.
The "rooted" features I want to access are turning off the camera sound (adding the switch to the settings menu in the camera app, not just replacing the sound file with a dummy file) Changing PPI of apps (xposed module) and full access read/write on micro SD cards and really important is the ability to add any app to the multi-window apps list and force orientation. I've been able to do all this with xposed modules.
Other than that, stock would be fine if it wasn't so laggy. The main reason I want to try another ROM is the lag. On screen keyboard has a lot of lag, but even my Logitech k810 bluetooth keyboard is laggy.
I'm also currently travelling and don't have a PC with me. So I'm hoping I can flash the ROM without ODIN, or perhaps I can use one of the ODIN-for-android type things on my Note 4 to flash a ROM to the Note Pro 12.2. Also I have the stock recovey, and would like suggestions on which recovery to use instead. Again, no computer with me to flash a new recovery. Ido have an OTG cable and USB flash drive so Ican back up my files before flashing the new ROM, as well as a miscro SD card.
Any recommendations for a smooth, fast ROM? Any tips on flashing it without a PC? I know I can copy the ZIP to the tablet and flash it from recovery...but it is the stock recovery...is this going to be sufficient?
THANKS!
The hyperdrive rom by sbreen (in the dev section) works great. Isnt there an internet cafe in the vicinity? Ask them for assistance flashing the beast. I love twrp. Good luck!
I tried to find an easy root apk thingy so you dont need a computer, couldnt find anything (but maybe kinguser or something like it will work)

Thanks! TWRP is I think what's on my Note II back home. My tablet is rooted already of course. For the Hyperdrive ROM, one thing I'm a little confused about is if I have to FIRST install a stock ROM and THEN flash the custom ROM. I'm a little confused about why exactly but I see that in the forums from time to time. It's recommended for certain ROMs. I don't know if flashing the stock ROM updates some other firmware/hardware driver type stuff that's needed for the new kernal to work or what.
There might be an internet cafe. I'm flying from Vienna to Lithuania today. Trying to explain to them that I want them to download and install ODIN might be tough knowing only English and Spanish haha.
Sorry for the noob question but is clicking the thumbs-up icon what generates "thanks" or do I do that somewhere else?

If its rooted you can install twrp without computer (see my link) use twrp manager fromthe play store for that
You only have to flash the custom rom
(Make sure you backup on an ext sd or something, then delete everything in twrp, install custom rom, restart and done) I also always backup the launcher settings, if you backup the apps with titanium restoring is very easy afterwards)
Lemme know if this works for you!

I'm already having trouble installing TWRP. I can't do it from the app, as my device isn't listed. I downloaded the zip file of the correct version of TWRP and tried to flash it using the stock recovery. But when I boot into recovery mode, it still just goes to the stock recovery. Then I downloaded and installed ROM manager from the play store and it shows TWRP as being installed, but whenever I boot into recovery I just get the stock recovery.
I'm back home now and I guess I'll just try to do all this with ODIN.
Is there any reason I can't just install the custom ROM using the stock recovery? That's what I did last time.
Ok So I got TWRP installed via ODIN then I used it to clean wipe and flash Hyperdrive ROM but gmail app won't even open, just crashes immediately, and it's one of the main apps I need so...probably gonna look for another ROM...or most likely gonna flash the stock ROM, unroot and sell the tablet and get a Dell Venue 11 Pro. Might wait till the end of July though, the supposed release date for lollipop on this device.
Had the same problem. Install hyperdrive without the gmail app option. Afterwards install itmvia the play store.
And if you want lollipop give cyanogen a try. I love it (but its a personal thing).
Ad make sure to read the Venue reviews, they are not very positive.

I wanted to try lollipop because I use it for music, and latency is much better with lollipop. My Note 4 is running lollipop and I get way better performance from MIDI keyboards and guitar amp modelling. I really like the multi window functions on the stock and hyperdrive ROMs though, 4 at once, floating, etc. I'm sure as soon as lollipop is officially out for this device, someone will release a rooted version.
Thanks for the tip on gmail, fortunately I read it before getting too deep and just reflashed without gmail it and then installed the gmail app as you suggested and it does work. There still seems to be a bit of delay when using the on screen keyboard, not as fast as I had hoped. But it's up and running.
I was considering the Dell after trying a bunch of different audio and video editing apps for android and realizing that I just need full photoshop, premiere, and Reaper with all my VST plugins, so I need windows. Perhaps Surface Pro is a better choice but I like the Venue's chassis better, fanless, rounded corners. Also new tablets might be coming out with Windows 10 so another reason to wait...
My laptop is great but it's really big and I like a touch interface for on screen mixers and instruments. So I figured a tablet PC might work best for me. But the problem is GUI scaling. with the Windows legacy apps like Premiere and Photoshop, the buttons and menus don't scale, and on an 11" 1080 display they are quite small.
Just wait for win 10 and while waiting fine tune your 12" beast did you try system tuner pro already? You should be able to get less latency from that.
(And did someone mention "buy a Mac" already?
I am surprised, because after testing dozen ROMs I found stock ROM fastest one. Just root and debloat it.
Not so any lag or problems, but with custom ROMS I had a lot of problems.

Indeed, cyanogen requires a lot of tuning (but its what I like about Android, I am more tinkering with it than actually using it I believe

I checked out system tuner pro (didn't buy it yet just read the description) What exactly would I adjust to get lower audio latency? Just clock the CPU higher? OR does it have audio-specific settings not mentioned in the description?

WHAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?!!? I've been checking sammobile EVERY day for the lost couple weeks waiting for this! OMG OMG I'm hoping I'll be able to use the Samsung Audio stuff with this, their DAW and amplitube and all that...plus I'll get Hancom office back...Thanks for the heads-up. I'm glad I've been using CM12.1 though So I can compare the experience.
Looking forward to the rooted version of stock lollipop making its way to xda as well! Now... to figure out the best way to back up my current installation...

Zero Camera mod screwed up my camera

Hello,
Today I attempted to make the Zero Camera Mod work. I purchased it a while ago but never got it working on Android Nougat. I figured, now that I have Android Oreo, I might give it a try again.
After a few attempts, it completely screwed up my camera.
The app recommends you to flash the zip it creates in TWRP, so I did just that. However, upon flashing, TWRP gave me a bunch of errors, mostly related to being unable to mount /data.
When I booted into the phone again, the entire camera app was gone, couldnt open it by double tapping the power button either.
I figured, let's try to flash the same zip in Magisk. So I did succesfully flash that zip in Magisk, only upon rebooting, it didn't seem to have applied correctly as everything was at default settings. However, I did get my camera app back so that was a relief.
I then started flashing different zips that the Camera Mod app created, trying to get the mod to work. This however, I should not have done. I now can't open the camera app anymore without the app crashing. When I open the camera app, everything is completely streched out, aswell as it's rotated as if I'm holding my phone horizontally even though I'm holding it vertically. Also none of the UI elements are visible. When I remove the module in Magisk, it's back to not having a camera app at all, same goes for removing the Mod in the Zero Camera Mod app.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix my camera again, WITHOUT having to just reflash the firmware?
PS. I should mention that the camera itself is not screwed up, just the camera app. If I take a photo with, lets say snapchat or whatsapp, it works fine.
Yeasterday I had a similar problem. After modding the camera and rebooting the camera icon completely had completely gone away. I know it's a pain in the ass, but best thing you can do is to flash the firmware back to stock again (or at least flash a custom ROM).
I tried the zero camera mod with stock rom with custom kernel (did not work) and with Renovated Ice rom (worked).
In my experience, I could say the new version of Zero CameraMod doesn't work with custom kernels (I had NK), as I could not even restore the stock camera with the zero camera app. I love zero camera mod (also bought it) but I think we must waitn until the developer could fix compativility issues that we're all reporting.
1. Dirty flash the OS.
or
2. Use one of your TWRP backups, and return to pre-camera mod.
Quick, simple, and effective.

On rooted Samsung SM-J710FN, camera & other hardware don’t work

I’ve recently been trying to root my Samsung SM-J710FN. I managed to find a sequence of actions that consistently produces a rooted phone. I found TWRP 3.0.2 (I know that later versions exist, but this is the latest I could find for this model) and flashed it using Odin. I then use it to wipe the data partition (because, apparently, TWRP doesn’t work well with encryption). I use adb push to copy SuperSU 2.79 (downloaded from here) and no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 (in accordance with instructions in this thread, downloaded from here) to /data, then I install both of them using TWRP and reboot.
While the phone does appear rooted, it does end up having some serious problems. Here are some that I managed to find:
The camera doesn’t work. When I try to start the Camera app, it just crashes after a few moments.
The flashlight doesn’t work. When I try to turn it on using the button in the quick settings panel at the top, I get a message saying that the Camera app is using the flashlight (and the flashlight doesn’t turn on, obviously).
The phone does not automatically change orientation as I rotate it (in apps that are supposed to support it, such as Google Chrome), even though the appropriate settings are enabled.
The brightness controls do not affect the screen’s brightness in any way.
(I also can’t manage to re-encrypt the phone after rooting it, but that’s probably better left for a different thread.)
Has anyone else encountered similar problems? What can I do to solve them?
Have you tried to reflash stock ROM again?
I have. In fact, I did so many times before I figured out the exact steps to successfully root the phone (and then a number of times more while troubleshooting these issues). Everything works fine after restoring (unrooted) stock firmware, but stops working again after rooting.
I finally figured it out. Looks like I should have used a different SuperSU version. I repeated the process using SuperSU v2.82 SR5 and the problems stopped.
(I’m still trying to get the phone to be both rooted and encrypted, but that’s a separate story…)
EDIT: I gave up on SuperSU and used Magisk instead. It’s much easier and seems to work perfectly even with encryption!
Can you give me link to download a Android system and Magisk. Which one you used. I have the same problem :c
Here’s Magisk: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk
As for “Android system”, do you mean stock firmware? In that case, I’m really sorry but I haven’t really kept a link to the place I downloaded it from Besides, you need stock firmware that matches your specific phone (based on the part of the world where you bought the phone, I think? I’m not quite sure), which may not be the same as mine.
I've already done it, I downloaded all the necessary files from sammobile.com
But thank you for your willingness to help

As I said before, unfortunately, I have not kept a link to the stock firmware. Further, judging by your other posts, you don’t seem to have a device of the same model as mine (I have SM-J710FN, you said you have SM-J710GN), which means my stock firmware isn’t going to be useful to you anyway.
