Recovery boots to system software not authorized by VW - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

The phone doesn't have volume buttons so I decided to root it with Towelroot and install a 4 way reboot for recovery . Now every time I try to boot it starts with recovery booting in blue then secure fail: kernel system software not authorized by Verizon Wireless... . The phone is in 4.4.2 and can't go into adb or Odin as I can't get it in download mode. Is there a fix for this or am I completely screwed ?

I also face the same problem when i install TWRP 2.8.7.0 using Flashify.
With the phone powered off, press simultaneously volume down, home and power button to get into download mode. On the screen offering option to Volume Up to continue and Volume Down to cancel, press Volume Down and the phone will restart and you can use it.

If you are familiar with adb, and you have it installed on your computer, you can use it to boot into download mode with this command:
Code:
adb reboot download
For more information check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872128

Thanks for the replies but my S3 doesn't show up when I type adb devices and Odin doesn't recognize the phone as well. I have the Samsung drivers and have USB debugging checked before all. How can I get my PC to see my s3?

While your phone is connected to the PC check Device Manager and see if there are error icons ( yellow triangle with ! ) relating to your device. I won't be able to help much with that, I haven't used Windows in almost a decade.

Am i screwed or there is any way to unbrick?

Take out the battery, wait a full minute. put it back in and the case back together without inadvertantly hitting either the power or up/down keys. Now press the down key. While holding it down, hold down the power key. If that doesn't put you into download mode, you have done the impossible. These phones are (almost) impossible to brick.
I have seemed to have done the something similar as I was trying to reflash with ODIN and the phone went black, I left it alone for several minutes and now when I try to turn the phone on I just have a graphic with a phone and a computer with a little triangle with an exclaimation mark in the middle and nothing else happens.

i beg to differ
nothing is working for me either
So I went to This Site pathikshah. com /blog / install-android-2-2-froyo-galaxy-s/ (sorry about the spaces new user and xda wont let me post links, not spamming honest), I did exactly as it said it was working as planned until it reset after install. First instead of the vibrant screen coming up it now says:
Galaxy S
GT-I9000
Then It goes to:
Android System Recovery <3e>
on that screen it says twards the bottom:
update media please wait
E:Cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Cant mount SDCARD:
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI me
nu for format and reboot actions.
copy default media content failed.
so when I try to scroll through the recovery menu I have to push vol Up to scroll down
also it does nothing when i press the ok button (power button), unless I hold it down then it resets and goes back to the same recovery screen
I rooted the samsung galaxy s then added a rom and the rom is crashing my phone I've tried aboslutely everything don't know what else to do.
i also have a problem
i have install ROM manager and make a back up
went i try to recovery my backup it give me first the original recovery mode i know i have to select update.zip to access the clockworkmod recovery (ver 2.5.1.2 last one) i use the option restore and start it
now my phone just reboot in recovery mode
i'm looking if some one have a working ROM backup
tnx for your help

Thank you for the video link. I was up to that point unable to get the download/shoveling droid screen. Now I'm in the process of finally getting the phone back to stock after downloading the t-mobile update that cam through and bricked the phone.
no downloading mode
Hi i was hoping this will help me to reenabeling my bricked samsung. But i cant get it in to downloanding mode. the 3 button way isnt working and the way showed in the movie neither. Is there an other way to get the phone back to work?
I have tried all the methods posted here as well as many others from the link posted above. But to no avail.
I did everything successfully up until the reboot. Whereupon, it would not start. No amount of button combination helped me. And taking out the battery pack is no help either. It just won't start. I could use any advice.
Thank you.
I'm in the same boat now, attempted to odin back to stock and now I have a brick. It's just blank, I cant get it into download or recovery mode using any method described.
Is my only shot the jig method I've read about now?
EDIT
Nevermind, I got it. Pulled the battery, replaced it, held down both power buttons, inserted usb (already plugged in comp w/ odin open), boom..entered download mode and flashed..

I'm assuming you have already downloaded the drivers to your computer. Sasmung.com will have them

Lost Access To Download Mode After Kies3 Initialization

I was in a bootloop because of a failed ROM flash, however i could enter Download Mode and i used Kies3 to initialize my device and that brought me back to a working system (COI9) But now I have a serious issue, I don't have a download mode?
When rebooting, holding the combination does nothing, just continues me into Windows (Volcume Down + Power + Home) Recovery is accessible, but its the stock Samsung recovery, the option to 'Reboot into bootloader' also doesnt work, my S6 just starts up normally.
Is there a solution for this? I need Root and Xposed back, what should I do?
If you can enter Recovery mode, you must be able to enter Download mode. Usually it is the other way round and people cannot enter Recovery mode. See if your buttons are working properly. Press all buttons (Home, Power and Vol UP + Vol DOWN) then when the screen goes black, try pressing the combination for Download mode.
I 'did' try everything, it was as if the boot loader access was blocked, the ONLY way I could get in was through the "ADB Reboot Download" command, and still then it wasn't the "full" download mode I was use to, it had no info.
I genuinely lost access to it, wasnt able to get in what so ever

You mean it goes into Download mode when you try through ADB but it has no writing, is the background still blue and still says something like "downloading target" or whatever it says in Download mode. If it like that, then try see if odin recognises it.
Yes I have succeeded now, its back to working, but in still baffled as to why and how it happened

How do I fix my OnePlus One’s bootloop?

Greetings of the day,
Hello everyone, I'm having a oneplus one 64GB phone that is not getting start, everytime i connect it with the charger it goes into a bootloop. Yes the phone was rooted and I was using a custom ROM with the default kernel. The issue started when I tried to reset the phone to battery settings. I think I somehow messed the kernel and now it is stuck in bootloop. The problem is that I can't connect it to my computer or put it in debug mode as it just restarts again. Any idea how to actually boot it so I can install the kernel and ROM again?

No, My phone is not getting on but whenever i am connecting it with my charger the phones goes in the Bootloop, and when i am connecting it to My PC while pressing Volume Up + Power Button Pc shows that the Unrecognized devices has been connected.
And i think phone is Hard Bricked. I have tried ADB software and one plus 1 drivers manually but it didn't worked too. I have tried minimal ADB too but it also didn't work.
Kindly let me know about it.

I have tried both, but nothing happens with it, Volume UP + Power shows the unrecognizable device is connected and Volume Down + Power does nothing it continues with bootloop .
Have you got Developer Options enabled?
Goto About Phone & Tap Build Number until Developer Options is activated. Goto Developer Options> Advanced Restart & enable the switch.
Press power button->Restart->Recovery.
It will now boot into Recovery.
Also have you tried keeping hold of power button whilst it bootloops. Keep holding the power button until it powers off. Then press Volume Down & Power Button to power back up (you might see a slight flicker onscreen that means it should go into Recovery mode). Keep hold of these buttons until you gain Access to Recovery Mode.
This will allow you to Recover or flash a different ROM.
If you're having issues connecting to a computer (Windows) try downloading Windows Media Center for your version of Windows. This will install media drivers to recognize your phone.. If all went well you will get the pop up with A0001 (Codename of OnePlus One). From there you should be able to enter fastboot mode through ADB.
If this doesn't help you, I'm sure that someone else will untangle the puzzle to get your device in good working order buddy. Good Luck.

Stuck at entering fastboot mode

How can I get my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra out of stuck at 'entering fastboot mode'?
Hold down power and volume down until it reboots back to recovery. I got stuck there last week and that's what worked for me.

Switch off the device. Then hold volume up and down buttons and insert the USB cable plugged to PC. You will get to download/odin mode

Download mode is different from fatboot mode, I can enter, and works ok download mode. However, fastboot does not, it gets stuck in entering fastboot mode and no fastboot command works
I got same issue here, I've tried rooting via TWRP and after data wipe and "reboot to recovery" it got stuck in same thing and doesn't move at all, if I hold power and vol down it just boots the device which i dont want since i need to flash magisk as a last step. if anyone encountered this or knows how to fix it i'd be helpful

Since we can"t enter into fastboot mode is it possible to flash boot.img with adb commands?
I m having the same problem with a21s(a217f). I can t enter download mode using key combinations and the other way launching it from recovery doesn t work, it stays stuck at,, entering fastboot mode,,
The ROM is already bricked, it says in recovery when i try to factory reset the following error:,, can t mount. /system (structure needs cleaning)
Even with,, apply up. with adb,, doesn t work, it just doesn t get detected on my computer when i checked with adb tools.
! The only thing that works is that I can access my sd card and apply a update from sd card but I don t know where to get the update file. (I ll edit if it works to flash stock rom from,, apply update from sd card,, )
Anybody got some ideas or should i burn my motherboard and replace it?
sorry for bad english
Honestly plug device into PC.
Power off device
hold all 3 side buttons. Volume up and down and power/bixby.
Should usually work.
After in fast boot you must press a button Volume button to find via odin.

It wouldn't be deleted as it's a safety protocol if the device has a bad update and freaks out.
Maybe try to person above method.
Normally I can enter download mode with any of these methods if you cannot I'd suggest trying to get the device replaced due to software malfunction

Samsung phones use a tool called Odin to flash firmware. If you're flashing custom firmware firmware you'll need to have your bootloader unlocked.
I got mine into download mode just now. It's a Galaxy A13 .. Like stated above, try to hold all three buttons down and connect to USB. I had to let go before it showed the battery charge icon. From off. If not from off try from charging. I think that's what I did just now. Plug the usb -> let it show the charging icon (from powered off!) -> hold all three buttons, let it power on, let go. DONE.
just follow this video it helped me a lot to unlock my boot loader

Question [SOLVED] Flashed a file from TWRP Official App choosing my device from the list and got stuck on the "Downloading do not turn off target" screen

Device:
- Samsung Galaxy A12

Going back to stock by flashing latest via Odin is what I would do and then start from scratch.
You took TWRP for a125f didn't you?
They have very different hardware, but I think it will work to return to stock.

Instead I re-flashed twrp, this time a version supposedly for a127m unofficially and the phone ended up blinking on and off a totally black screen. Now it doesn't enter download mode or recovery mode and the computer doesn't recognize it. I'm pretty ****ed up.

Was it fully loaded before you started?
Is it possible that the battery is empty?
I'd leave for hours connected to the charger and test tomorrow again to get into download mode.

The battery is fine, it was loading almost the whole process because I flashed the last time from the PC and was at 70% before starting. The only thing it does since yesterday (it was not turned off at any time) is to flash between the screen turned on showing pure black color and the screen off.
If I press Volume Down Key and power key what it does is not to enter the Download Mode as before but show the Samsung A12 logo and then the warning of "unlocked bootloader" with the "Press Power Key to continue", then the same screen From Samsung A12 but with a warning of Custom Software and then begins to blink again.
I cannot turn it off or enter the recovery mode or enter the download mode. The battery is inaccessible to me although I could find a way to do it if it served something.
@Bafif one last idea:
did you enable USB debugging in dev options before?
Then adb commands might be working.
1 To test if adb can see it (device connected to PC) :
command <adb devices>
Perhaps necessary to enter twice.
If yes you'll see a notification on the screen.
2 Then you can <adb reboot bootloader> to enter download mode.
If you don't get the notification I'm probably not able to give any further hints.
