Hi,
I have my Honor 6 (indian version) rooted on EMUI 2.3. Thought of upgrading to lollipop today.
Mistake: Did a factory reset on the rooted phone.
Then downloaded EMUI 2.3 stock image from here hihonor.in/support/downloads
After flashing this image the software version was b115. Then downloaded EMUI 3.0 from the same site and tried a local update.
Now, the phone does not update, it restarts and shows version as EMUI 2.3. I am unable to access stock recovery. My bootloader is unlocked and can fastboot and flash stock recovery image (extracted from b115 rom). The flashing shows a success but still cannot access stock recovery.
One more strange thing, after all this if I try to do a factory reset from the "Backup and reset" menu, it does not reset the phone. The phone restarts and boots back into EMUI 2.3 with nothing reset.
Please help/suggest what should I do

So i was on stock 4.4.4 with root and cwm recovery.
got notification for 5.0.2 update, i reflashed stock recovery wipe user data & cache and unrooted my phone through super user app.
i downloaded the update and phone automatically flashed it through recovery, after that phone is not booting up stuck at moto M logo and keeps on restarting.
i just want to know that how can i check if the bootloader is updated or not and any safe method to flash stock firmware again wihout Hard Bricking it .
any suggestion are welcomed , i can boot phone in recovery and bootloader mode
Do you know what version you had before? The bootloader should have a version number on it and date. Like version 41.13 2014-06-16. If the date is more recent than when you got the phone, the bootloader was probably updated.
I would suggest you flash a Stock Firmware using Fastboot, it would be the safest way I can come up with.
Hello!
Earlier today I did a factory reset (wipe system/data partition) because I wanted to restart with my phone.
It was running EMUI 4.0.1, B8XX and after this it got stuck on logo screen.
I've been trying to solve this with different ideas I can find but when I do the 3-btn reset on the package: H60-L02-L12_EMUI3.1_Android5.1_C00B535
I get "Software install failed!".
Is it because that one is EMUI 3.1 and I need to flash EMUI 4.0 or 4.0.1? I can only find OTA on EMUI 4.0/4.0.1 files, so how can I fix this?
If I let the phone boot normally it gets stuck on the boot logo

By OTA do you mean stock firmware? If you can find it, please download it, extract it and you will get UPDATE.APP, make a dload folder in SD card, copy the file in there and then do a 3 button restart.
And yes, (according to my limited knowledge), you have to install the same version. Steps for downgrading are different.
If you only did the factory reset, your probably just no waiting time enough. It can take 15min to "boot".

Yes, you nees to flash emui 4.0 again (same update you had before bootloop)
have you tried that with a full charged battery???

From this I understand that you were on EMUI 4.0 and were trying to flash EMUI 3.0 directly without doing a rollback.
So to perform this very action you need to first rollback your phone from 4.0 to 3.0, there is one available here. Do that and flash a full UPDATE.APP of the version you just rolled back to. You'll get Lollipop up and running after this transition.
Good Luck!!
so, after unlocking the bootloader, installing TWRP custom recovery, and successfully rooting my device i decided to factory reset it, for some reason it wouldn't factory reset it kept rebooting. so i used TWRP to reset and i accidentally deleted my system file.
my phone is bricked, there is no OS on it and it wont boot.
My device: HUAWEI GR5 2017
Model no.: BLL-22 south east Asia variant. EMUI 5
is there a way to get the operating system reinstalled?

Either use the download method to go back to stock or find a stock system image to flash via twrp

I wasn't able to find stock rom, so I used a full update instead. Using the dload method worked!
Thank you.
I soft brick my Mate 9. I was on Resurrection Remix O 6.0.0 Unofficial (Android 8.1. ) and my front camera and fingerprint didn't work. Phone was unlocked and rooted at the time. I was trying to go back to stock and reflash the official RR (GSI). I accidentally fastboot flash stock Oero system.img (MHA-L29C567B367 - 8.0.0.367). Phone can't pass "Set up as new phone" screen and no keyboard at all. I suspect incomplete flash. It shows "FRP lock" on fastboot screen.
What I did so far?
1. Tried to grab firmware from stock recovery, getting package failed.
2. Tried dload method with that same Oreo stock rom's update.app (MHA-L29C567B367 - 8.0.0.367).
3. Tried HWOTA8 - Replace recovery but fail due to the locks.
4. Tried HiSuite - It fail to recovery my phone.
5. Tried factory reset via eRecovery. It did reset successfully but still stuck in eRecovery bootloop.
My phone now is locked on both Phone and FRP. Any idea? I really need to use the phone. Thanks in advance.
Update: Unbrick it via FunkyHuawei eRecovery method.
Mod: Please delete this thread. Thank you.
Hello,
recently i flashed a Android 9 version to my Honor 6x while having Emui 5.x. No I cant boot and TWRP says always its in only read mode, by allowing to write nothing changes, even after restart it resets my settings in TWRP.
I also cant install TWRP again because adb doesnt find my device when I start fastboot per TWRP.
Any idea to solve this, I want to go back to original or other 7.x ROM...
Try wiping everything. Did you flash an emui 8 room on emui 5? What room are you talking about. If TWRP boots try formatting every thing through advanced wipe
