H60-L02, 3-btn "Software install failed!" - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Earlier today I did a factory reset (wipe system/data partition) because I wanted to restart with my phone.
It was running EMUI 4.0.1, B8XX and after this it got stuck on logo screen.
I've been trying to solve this with different ideas I can find but when I do the 3-btn reset on the package: H60-L02-L12_EMUI3.1_Android5.1_C00B535
I get "Software install failed!".
Is it because that one is EMUI 3.1 and I need to flash EMUI 4.0 or 4.0.1? I can only find OTA on EMUI 4.0/4.0.1 files, so how can I fix this?
If I let the phone boot normally it gets stuck on the boot logo

By OTA do you mean stock firmware? If you can find it, please download it, extract it and you will get UPDATE.APP, make a dload folder in SD card, copy the file in there and then do a 3 button restart.
And yes, (according to my limited knowledge), you have to install the same version. Steps for downgrading are different.

If you only did the factory reset, your probably just no waiting time enough. It can take 15min to "boot".

Yes, you nees to flash emui 4.0 again (same update you had before bootloop)

have you tried that with a full charged battery???

From this I understand that you were on EMUI 4.0 and were trying to flash EMUI 3.0 directly without doing a rollback.
So to perform this very action you need to first rollback your phone from 4.0 to 3.0, there is one available here. Do that and flash a full UPDATE.APP of the version you just rolled back to. You'll get Lollipop up and running after this transition.
Good Luck!!

Stuck on boot animation

Hey guys, android 5.0 has been causing many of my apps to crash. Before I installed it, I had to flash the stock rom 4.4.4 since it was rooted and had a twrp recovery. After successfully flashing the stock rom, I installed 5.0 through OTA. It's my third day with the new version and the problems are pretty bad; nearly all apps crash. I turned off my phone to see if restarting would help. After trying to turn it back on, the boot animation would be constantly running. I can get into fasboot mode but for recovery mode, there's a message saying "No command." The final problem is... I did not turn on USB debugging through the developer's options in the settings which means I can't flash/ downgrade to 4.4.4 or any other rom. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, my phone is basically a brick right now.
Thanks!
You don't need USB debugging to be on to flash through fastboot mode.
Just follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701 to flash again and it should work
I did not know that. Thanks a ton!!! :good:
I´m running Android 4.2.2 and now want to update straight to Android 5.0. Is that possible or do I have to update successively from 4.3 and higher?
I have already tried flash the google factory image and got stuck on the spinning circles for hours. Have tried the wipe cache and factory data reset, but nothing happens. So got back to 4.2.2.
Any idea on how i can taste Android 5.0 in my Nexus 4?

Are you using the Nexus 4? This is the Nexus 5 thread. However all you need to do is unlock the bootloader then run the install for the factory 5.0 and wait like 15 mins for it to boot up the first time. If you want to keep data then that's a whole different story as flashing the factory image wipe contents of your sdcard. ALL OF IT!!

Thanks for the answer! I was just wondering if there is any problem in updating it straight from 4.2.2 to 5.0. I'll try couple of times more and hope to get any luck!

Help Please!! Unable to access stock recovery

Hi,
I have my Honor 6 (indian version) rooted on EMUI 2.3. Thought of upgrading to lollipop today.
Mistake: Did a factory reset on the rooted phone.
Then downloaded EMUI 2.3 stock image from here hihonor.in/support/downloads
After flashing this image the software version was b115. Then downloaded EMUI 3.0 from the same site and tried a local update.
Now, the phone does not update, it restarts and shows version as EMUI 2.3. I am unable to access stock recovery. My bootloader is unlocked and can fastboot and flash stock recovery image (extracted from b115 rom). The flashing shows a success but still cannot access stock recovery.
One more strange thing, after all this if I try to do a factory reset from the "Backup and reset" menu, it does not reset the phone. The phone restarts and boots back into EMUI 2.3 with nothing reset.
Please help/suggest what should I do

Bricked honor 8 please help

Hello, today while trying to get back to stock i wierdly bircked my honor 8
I flashed the stock recovery and stock boot img
Then i flashed a rollback package and a marshmallow package which i used for this same thing before.
Now the phone didnt start for a solid 30 minutes and ive decided to reflash the rollback and marshmallow package, but after i flashed the rollback got stuck at the boot logo, not even the stock bootanimation showing up.
The phone doesnt reboot neither in any of the recoveries nor in bootloader.
Any help would be appreciated.
Stephen
Okay so after all of this i managed to reboot to bootloader and get my hands on one of my previous unlock codes. So now ive got an unlocked bootoader, but after fashing twrp the phone is stuck at the 'your device is booting now' when im trying to get in it
I thing you have flashed the wrong TWRP, check for the latest version or at least the one for your build
uh well, hello there again.
i've tried to do the dload method which failed(i used lots of versions tho none worked)
and i've tried flashing marshmallow twrp, which at the moment, well, it cannot mount anything. no partition can get mounted.
Does any of you guys have an idea of what i could try?
thanks in advance
Does it mean that you have access to TWRP ? if TWRP cannot mount a partition, go into mount section, tick system, data, boot, vendor and then reboot to TWRP again. Then try your previous operation. If it cannot mount data, go into wipe, advanced wipe, and click on format data, then restart TWRP and try again
seems like i somehow broke the partition table, cause it shows every storage as 0 mb and mounting isn't available, cant tick the option. Looks like i will have to find some service center to repair it by my own cost, by the end of the month. Though im giving it around the 25th so i got some more time till then, so maybe i find some solution to this problem.
Hey, so I managed to make the phone work again.
I have flashed boot cust recovery recovery2 and system from the italian marshmallow firmware, then I flashed that same firmware using dload method(tho it failed at 99%)

You tried only once? Maybe you should now try to flash TWRP recovery and restore a backup made by TWRP. I can provide you one but for FRD-L09, not another. Another method would be to flash the rollback package and then retry flashing an EMUI 4.X ROM (dload method for both), hope you'll figure it out
I think i expressed myself wrong.
That was how i got the phone to work.
Oh lol I misunderstood because of the "it failed at 99%" and I thought the phone wasn't rebooting , no matter I'm glad you succeeded

Rollback to original ROM with problems

Hello,
recently i flashed a Android 9 version to my Honor 6x while having Emui 5.x. No I cant boot and TWRP says always its in only read mode, by allowing to write nothing changes, even after restart it resets my settings in TWRP.
I also cant install TWRP again because adb doesnt find my device when I start fastboot per TWRP.
Any idea to solve this, I want to go back to original or other 7.x ROM...
Try wiping everything. Did you flash an emui 8 room on emui 5? What room are you talking about. If TWRP boots try formatting every thing through advanced wipe

back to stock firmware. stuck on bootloop

Hello,
i have a Huawei Honor 6X (BLN-L21):
Multitool picture while phone is connected via fastboot:
ibb.co/Ykk6DdP
I had LineageOS 14.1 installed on my phone but I was missing some of the EMUI features. I decided to go back to EMUI (EMUI5.0). Everything worked fine. After that I wanted to install Magisk with this tutorial: How to install Magisk (xda)
After flashing the zip with TWRP the phone wanted a password for decrypting. I entered my normal screen lock pin. After checking it was saying that the password ist correct but my files were corrupted. I had to click on "reset phone" which was starting something like "factory reset lowlevel" but the same issue appeared after that.
I decided to get the firmware BLN-L21C432B382 with the Firmware Finder and I am having trouble to install that. First I wiped with TWRP then installed stock recovery and stock erecovery but when I try to force install the stock firmware, the installation gets stuck at 5% and then skips all the way to 100% and restarts. After the reboot I can see the Honor boot animation but it restarts before the normal screen appears. I guess this is called a bootloop. Any suggestions about it?
PS: I already tried to use erecovery to download the right firmware but its telling me "getting package info failed"
