I SCRATCHED my screen! NoooooooooooOOOooo

Damn, I hate the feeling of going over to wipe a "smudge" from your screen but finding out it is a scratch. Worst part is, I bought screen protectors but haven't put them on yet :'( . Am I the first? What would you guys do if you were me? Go exchange in store? Call and make them send me a new one?

Any clue how? I keep my phone in my old G1 nylon sleeve but have no protector or shell/skin/etc on it otherwise. It's either in the sleeve or in my hand, though.

I think I left a plastic ball point pen in my pocket with my phone for a few minutes earlier today. Maybe the tip is metal? Also I keep my keys in my other pocket but MAYBE, SOMEHOW my keys got put in the same pocket as my phone (which I severely doubt). Because My keys are the only things I can think of that would have scratched it =(. I'll do a bit my investigation later.... It sucks too because if I exchange it I'm afraid I'll get a phone with lint under the screen. My first mytouch had lint under the screen so I exchanged it for my current one, which WAS perfect. Gosh, I'm so pissed right now..

Haha, maybe I will.

Damn. That sucks. I just took my screen protector and my gel case off. I hate he added bulk of the case, but hate trying to get it in and out of my pocket even more. And the lint it collects is super awesome. Just takes away from the aesthetics so much.
Also, I had a screen protector I got off amazon... 5 for $1.99 delivered. They are identical to zagg except for less surface texture... but, still rubbery and tacky feeling.
Has anyone found a full face screen protector that is the rigid glass like type?

Sounds like most relationships....right?

make up a story about how you have a hardward issue and you have tried to master reset the phone. then they will send you a warranty replacement.
i always do this once my phones get too beat up

just call 611 and say your (speaker phone or track pad or anything) doesnt work and theyll have you do a factory reset once you say you finished reseting the phone and tell them it still doesnt work theyll send you a new one under the 12 month warrenty
lol watch out it gets addicting :/ anytime i dropped a phone id just return it lol ive seen over 20 G1's pass through :/ only thing you they dont replace is back cover and battery

+1 on the realook. Add a G1 oem sleeve for 4 or 5 bucks from ebayyyy and you got protection for under $20.

Are they selling them in UK? As the last time I contacted them they advised to wait until someone starts reselling them but not sure if anyone has. But yes I've read that they are pretty good screen protectors.
As to knight screen protectors - its the first time I've heard of them from this thread but would be interested to see how they perform and if they are actually any good.

Yeah the guy sells them in the UK and posts worldwide. Will need to do an in depth review since no one seems to have heard of them. I should receive them either today or tomorrow.

I've got one on my n4. Good full screen coverage, really easy to apply. Quite gummy in use, but not too bad. I've got it on front and back. Only problem is that my poetic bumper case makes the corners and edges detach so I can't use it anymore. I do prefer the size without the bumper, but its a shame I can't protect the sides.

EDIT - I refitted the protector as I had an annoying small hair stuck under it. I got it more central this time and the poetic bumper fits fine with no edge raising or affecting the adhesion. I've tried a couple of different wet types on other devices - this one is by far the best.

I've just fitted one tonight on my LG G2. Will post in a couple of days what I think of it. At the moment it looks a little pants but that may just be down to the way I fitted it. :laugh: Lots of bubbles that I'm hoping will disappear in time. Back looks great though.

I'm generally pleased with my screen knight however I wonder if anybody has tried to take one off ater it's dried out. I'm a little concerned it may not lift well?

Spigen Neo Hybrid Case cracks at the usb

I have the say it is the best looking case out for the GS4 but the main issue is the case will crack at the usb area. Top first then bottom. The area is thin. If they reinforce it some how this would last longer then 2 months. I have never dropped my phone and once on my phone it never came off until it now. Am I the only one?

Nope. You're not the only one with quality issues on your NeoHybrid.
Mine had paint chips which appeared from nowhere.
Seems like there are some serious durability issues with the NeoHybrid case.

My GSII NeoHybrid bumper case took a beating and kept going with so much abuse. I have to say design is 10 durability is a 2!

Running commando now that mine cracked at both sides of the headphone jack.

Yeah, my neo hybrid for the SGS2 last a long long time too. Not sure why for the SGS4 it crapped out on my so fast.

I hope people know about the short comings of the case even if it looks like one of the best cases. I wish they reinforced the area or used the same materials like the GSII case!

I had the same issue. I contacted them thru email and they were pretty fast to respond. They ask me to send a pic of the damage then they sent me a new one and it only took 3 days to get here. Looks like they're aware of the issues because the new one i received is a bit different, the usb insert part is actually a bit thicker and less likely to bend and breaks.

I got mine as a gift so I doubt they will send me a replacement. It is a official sgp item. What about the top headphone jack, is the area thicker?

Same here. Paint chips from light use. My case has never been mishandled and the paint chips. I have a red one.
I got so pissed off that I sprayed a clear coat on it lol. That did the trick. But for a $30 case it's very poor quality.

Heres the pic of the new one they sent me.. Notice tge difference?
I made a mistake saying is a bit thicker.. It looks the same but the new one with a lip seems sturdy when i try bending it.
As for the one asking for the headset, its the same.
I know the quality of the frame sucks but I do love this case...I always get a compliment how nice my phone is.

i also use neo hybrid spigen but everything it's okay and i love this case lol in my country many people recommended me to used spigen case than other brand.

That's so perfect. I don't want it to happen to my phone just to prove, but you can attest to durability of HTC One.

Yes, this phone is alot tougher than it looks (and it looks pretty tough) lol. I dropped mine on asphalt from about six feet about an hour after buying it and it landed facedown. No case, no screen protector. No scratches and no dings in the metal. HTC would never warranty their screen for six months unless they were damn sure it wasn't going to break easily. Especially since they are in financial hardship already. It's a big risk. Thankfully, this phone is tough as nails. Not like the S4. I broke three s4 screens in less than a year.

Dropped mine within 24 hours of purchase when it slipped out of my gym shorts exiting the car. Had one minor scuff on the top but a nice small scratch on the back. i was so mad, went and bought a case for it asap.

Perfectly. It wasn't a big drop, just shows how easily the back can be scuffed.

Dropped mine at the gym too and wasn't so lucky. Glass shattered. My new case was sitting on my porch for me when I got home so I was about 30 min from getting it when it fell. Called HTC and they sent me a new phone overnight. I'm so lucky they have the 6 month glass warranty. I didn't even consider it when buying the phone, but now I'll buy HTC every time if they keep this warranty going.

Dropped mine on concrete from about 4 feet flat on its back. Not a scratch. Glad HTC is still building quality rock solid devices. I still put a spigen slim armor or tpu case on it though. This phone is so smooth that I know I'm going to drop it eventually

Did the exact same thing but getting into the car from the gym - this is one slippery phone. It bounced a few times on the pavement which is not smooth. The left corners are both scuffed up but the screen does not have a scratch on it. No case on it at the time - I only use the case while biking as I have broke too many phones on the MTB.

I was riding my bike over a bridge and heard a *thud* behind me, felt my pocket and phone was gone, looked back and there it was sitting face-down on the bridge lol. Went and picked it up and not a scratch!! Man I love this thing.

Well I don't know what are you doing with your phone but mine is like new! Also I don't get why a lot of people complain about the pre installed screen protector, it's great and best of all it's free!

Mine is still like it isn't there. The only downside is fingerprint sensor.

I've had my phone for just over a month and the original protector is perfect. I've had the phone in and out of cases several times and there is no peeling and no marks. It feels smooth, like glass, and is clear and clean. Like I said, perfect. ?
I actually bought screen protectors with the phone, unaware that one would be fitted already, and I've had no reason to switch. FWIW I'm also using the included clear case, even though I bought a few others. Goog job, Samsung.

I had a small tear, and I wanted to see if its glass or cover, - so felt the cover kinda coming off and had to peel it eventually. But it was kinda loose too

because customers were complaining about the screen saver scratching and some even sending their phones back over it. Also samsung would send customers for free replacement screen savers. Wasn't worth the hassle in this market for them anymore.

I'm not sure buddy, I installed one of those non glass ones yesterday after I received my U1. It's the type that is installed in two parts and no heat or water is needed. I believe LK and Qitoyo are the same, bought the latter it's ok. Good overage and smooth. 10$ three pack.

Thanks. I got the Ringke dual easy which applies really well. Just that the quality of the sticker is inferior to the factory installed one I had on my Note 10

I was about to buy that one. But it mentioned it has some wings technology that wraps around the sides. That bit put me off a little. What's it like in practice?

It is great actually. The wings that wrap around go just a tiny bit towards the back glass and do not affect the look of the black glass. The wings also help secure the protector from lifting off the edges
I also put a skin on the back to get rid of the fingerprints you get on the black N20U .

I was looking for a topic like this haha. My one actually developed a few bubbles and I had to peel it off a couple of days ago. I received my unit in early September.
I am now struggling to find a good protector that works well with a case. Tried Ringkie but the protector was a way smaller than my phone!! Looks like it was a faulty batch. Tried another one - Apiker, and it peeled off when I putted my phone to my Spigen case despite Apiker advertising it won't.
I am now stranded in the middle of nowhere. Don't know what to buy to have a bubble-free screen and compatible with my Spigen case. Ordered the Spigen screen protector but it has mixed reviews...
I now regret I removed the original one.

Just get the one of the ones mentioned earlier to tied you over . They're a dry applied 3 or 4 stage peel type. I think most are made by the same factory. Leaves about 2mm on edges almost like the factory applied gap.

I couldn't find a single dry protector that would be bubble free and compatible with a case. No matter how hard I try to follow the instructions the protector either has bubbles/spots or peels off when phone is in a case. It just doesn't stick firmly. I will try my luck with Spigen wet protector. It should be compatible with Spigen cases as advertised. Already spent around 40 pounds on different protectors with no luck. I wish Samsung could offer the service for a fee. Their factory screen protector was attached perfectly.

I still have pre-installed screen protector on mine too and it's sitting well and is like new still.
