Can the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Gold Model MT7-TL10 not support 4G LTE in the US? - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone-
I posted a question somewhat related to this yesterday but didn't really get an exact answer and I'm getting very confusing and mixed reviews online so I'm trying again as I really want to order a new phone asap but want to make sure I'm still getting 4G LTE. I currently have the Ascend Mate 2 and get 4G LTE just fine on my network. I use Cricket here in US and I'm having trouble narrowing down what bandwidth they use. I've heard 1900 but I'm not sure. I also think they use AT&T towers. Does anyone have any info/advice on this?
On the one I'm looking at on Ebay (it won't let me post a link sorry) it says it supports the following:
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE 1800 / 2100 / 2600 TD-LTE 1900 / 2300 / 2500 / 2600 (Bands 1, 3, 7, 38, 39, 40, 41)
If the MT7-TL10 cannot support 4G LTE in the US can the other version? The Silver MT7-L09 or whatnot?
Thanks!

Hey, I noticed that you didn't get any answers to this question.
I have an MT7-TL10 mainland China (gold edition) and I am not getting 4G LTE on AT&T, only 3G.
I've looked into this question also; it seems that AT&T uses bands 2, 4, 5, and 17.

Thank you! From other boards/research that is kind of what I gathered. I ended up getting the cheaper silver version (MT7-L09) since that does get 4G LTE here in the US.

I have the silver MT7-L09 on MetroPCS and I get great 4G LTE coverage in the Miami area. Hope that helps. As far as I know from when I was researching which one to get the TL10 won't get you 4G LTE in the U.S.

Your in a bit of a bind then since you have the international version! Your phone might not have the right frequency support to get T-mobile 3g/4g until they complete their move of 3g to the 1900 band.
This is an excerpt from Anandtech Review
The International and T-Mobile One S differ in what UMTS bands are supported, as the International One S targets both Asia and Europe, while the T-Mobile version goes for the Americas. I’ve made a table with the pertinent information.
HTC One S - Network Support
GSM/EDGE Support 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
WCDMA Support
One S - International 850 / 900 / 2100 MHz
WCDMA Support
One S - T-Mobile 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 MHz

You really need that 1700/1900 band for AWS 3g. However, t-mobile is currently moving 3g to the 1900 spectrum which should enable you to get 3g when it's done in your area.
Here is a map of current reported 1900 3g coverage. http://www.airportal.de/
Sorry to give you the bad news.

Yes. I believe the difference is that the US version has the 1700AWS band for T-Mobile. Global has the 2100 band that works better overseas.
Ok thanks I don't have TMobile or one of their subsidiaries anyway and tend to travel over seas in the summer so looks like I made the right choice anyway

Thanks for the help guys
I'm thinking of getting the G. I will use it in Germany for 3 wks next year, and use it once (2-3 wks) in Taiwan when I visit my friends and family. I will mostly use it in the US trying out different prepaid plans. I think I'd better get a US version, but is there any chance to get 3G in Europe or Taiwan with a US version?
Thanks.

No with the US version you will NOT get 3G in Europe or Taiwan. You will get 2G however. If you want 3G overseas you need to the global version but you lose T-mobiles AWS band support.
thanks. Is there a phone (moto x, nexus 5, or anything) that support 3G band of all carriers in all regions?

A thing that I've noticed in the reviews is that the US versions of the phone, the cases (at least the black one) has a "metallic" look on that M on the back while the Global / European version that M it's only glossy.
Just got my US 16gb model yesterday via Amazon. Back cover has a glossy black "M" logo, nothing metallic about it.
Bummer to hear this phone won't do 3G in Europe, I went with the USA model since I just moved over to T-mobile, and a lot of the 3G signal in my area is still on 1700 mhz. My AT&T phone was getting 3G in a lot of areas, but just enough EDGE data to annoy me and make me buy the G.

[Q] Will G Pro2 work on T-Mobile/Metro PCS?

Will this phone or a variant of work on T Mobile or Metro PCS? I noticed there appeared to be some spectrums missing when I look at the specs, but I am not sure if they were older spectrums that are going to be phased out slowly. Any help would be appreciated. I'm also open to suggestions on other 5.9 inch phones that would work better on T Mobile / Metro PCS.

Z3 model d6683: dual sim both 3g and 4g too?

Hi,
my name is Andrea and first of all thanks to give me your attention.
I'm in europe, italy, and was watching Z3 model d6683, it's for chinese market i guess, particular version of dual sim model. Now, i've two sim, the operator is "3 italia", and its signal is from 3g to 4g (if the area is covered by 2g signal only, i go in roaming signal, and can't surf etc). Now, i'm looking for a dual sim phone, and both sim have to get at least 3g signal at the same time. I'm not asking to surf with both sim at the same time, and i'm not asking "dual active", not interested if when i call, the other sim goes airplane mode. I'm asking if Sony Xperia Z3 model d6683 has two sim can get both at least in 3g mode during standby and always in general, cause i surf with one sim, i call with the other one, but this last don't want to go roaming all the time. Hope it's clear.
I can get this particular model because an Eshop has it online, but first need to know this problem.
Hope it can, and battery can last in any case.
Or if you know some other phones...
Thanks
None has it?
Help please, if you know this model can do what im looking for, or just another phone..
Thanks
Bro i also have D6683 in which one sim will work as 4G and other as 2G.
Hope i have helped you

So the second one can't get higher than 2g? Are you sure, could be the operator..or is just the phone? And if you put sim 1 to 3g, the second always max 2g?
Thanks a lot, some people told me this phone could be the only one to do what i'm looking for, but i guess it doesn't exist.

D6683 is designed specifically for the Chinese market. It uses bands that are incompatible with rest of the world, therefore, it would be mostly useless anywhere else.
The following is from xperiablog.net:
Sony Xperia Z3 Dual TD (D6683) network support
– Dual SIM version which supports TD-LTE in China
– 4G FDD LTE: Band 1 (2100), Band 3 (1800), Band 7 (2600)
– 4G TD-LTE: Band 28 (2600 CMCC),Band 39 (1900), Band 40 (2300), Band 41 (2600 Unicom)

?
Fdd are here in europe, my operator cover 1800 and 2600 lte. Maybe Tdd too.
But could be enough the fact to support just 3g, but the important would be both sim can get up to that at the same time. I'm just asking this.

The only way to make sure is to test it. When I went to China last month my Z3 Dual worked nicely on Unicom's 2600 band. The first time I've read about D6683, I've got really excited until I've found out that it does not support bands used on North American continent wich makes is useless as a world phone to me. If you plan to use it in Europe only, there is a chance that it will work for you. I was not able to find out what 3G bands D6683 supports because the situation there is quite messy. Chinese 3G network is 80% incompatible for rest of the world, the only network that works with foreign phones is Unicom. It's very similar in Japan as well. Understanding that this phone is targeted for the Chinese market, I am pretty sure that it would be useless in North America (and most likely in Europe as well) on 3G bands. Luckily, with the proliferation of LTE networks while 2G is being slowly phased out, we are going to see more phones supporting simultaneous LTE on both SIMs soon.

Of course stay in Europe lol.
But i do not care the fact could not work here, as the fact I want it to support 3g at least at same time.
I guess user niks answerd the question, but i asked to check a few things via mp. But probaly he's right, the phone could show if, after you set connection on sim 1, could support 3g signal on second one. It's impossibile, i have to admit

Thank you. Maybe we re not understanding each other.
I think it can support 3g and even 4g here. My question is when one sim is on 3g/4g,the other one goes 3g? Not to connect data to surf, just about quality, frequency.. at least..
I'm looking one phone it can do it. Seems does not exist.

I do understand what you mean. It would have to be tested, however, there is a very good chance that it might since D6683 can simultaneously run on LTE bands using both SIMs which no Z3 Dual (D6633) can do. Most of the networks in Canada where I live use 3G for voice (same in Australia) and regular Z3 Dual is useless in such scenario, however, there is a chance it would work fine with D6683 which would become a dual SIM phone to go to except LTE bands.
Hope it can. Maybe will buy one to test it,directly.
Ok, Sony America and Sony China say it can't, as user niks wrote.
A Shop wrote on the sony z3 product crearly it can.
Will write to that Shop and to sony hong kong for the last time.

In the UK the bands used are bands 1,3,7,8 and 20. The Gem-702L has bands 1,3,7 and 8 but not band 20. I'm pretty sure band 20 is the lower mhz (800 MHz) band for in building coverage (similar to T-Mobile's band 12 here in the US) You should get LTE just fine but in buildings where LTE coverage isn't the greatest you may only get 3G as the X2 doesn't utilize band 20 in the UK. From what I see for Three is that they use 2100mhz for 3G and 800mhz and 1800mhz for 4G. The X2 doesn't have 800mhz but has 1800 mhz so 4G should work.
Sorry. Posted on the wrong thread.
I am on Three in Austria here use "3" LTE 2600 and 1800 MHz perfect for Mediapad X2 703L and 702L,since the two have no Band20
But Three in UK use LTE Bands 1800 and 800MHz,only Mediapad X2 701L supports 800MHz (Band 20)
But LTE 800 is used only in rural areas and in the city the 1800MHz
Hiya, I'm on the 3 network in the uk, GEM 702L and I have no problem with 4g or any other network issues.
Bought the phone from 'Oxford Street' on amazon, not directly from china.
many thanks guys,
it turns out the phone I have ordered is the GEM 703L version, according to the Huawei web site it uses the following 4G bands
1800MHz (Band 3)
2100MHz (Band 1)
2600MHz (Band 7)
UK Three network uses 4G on
1800MHz (Band 3)
800MHz (Band 20)
and 3G on
2100MHz (Band 1)
it should be OK.
