[Completed] [Urgent] Remotely modify lost device settings? - XDA Assist

I lost my (simless, older) device that I use as an iPod-eqscue over a crazy weekend however today have discovered, the device is on, connected to the internet. I've locked the device down i.e added a password and lockscreen message using Android Manager, however the location settings are set to off, as it both uses too much battery and I'm pretty security conscious however this appears to have come back to bite me in the ass. The device has battery, wifi (AFAIK, Android Manager says its "online") and Root access, I'm wondering if someone knows of a way I can modify the settings i.e turn on Location without having the device to hand? If I could do it, I would be able to trace the device hopefully
If there's some other way I can trace the device i.e install software using play store that doesn't require me to click allow on something.. because I wouldn't have lost my device then!

Hi,
With GPS off and no locating software installed, I very much doubt there's anything you can do at this point. But you're welcome to ask for ideas here,

[Completed] [Q] LG Transpyre stuck in pseudo-bootloop

Hello. Recently I have attempted a root on my LG Transpyre VS810PP using the method using the method found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...lg-devices-t3049772/post59309508#post59309508 . Being the very well versed and cautious tech-user that I am (sarcasm) I neglected to backup my system data and apps. I was still using the default firmware. While the root seemed to be successful allowing me superuser access I initially noticed nothing wrong. After doing various things including deleting bloatware and giving greater power to many of my existing apps I noticed something when I went to change my background. When I went to settings a received a popup message saying "Unfourtanatly, Settings has stopped working." The second of my genious actions was deciding to just deal with this and I ended up using the phone for another week after realizing the problem. Recently though I was fed up having my settings as well as my phone contacts completly inaccesable and just figured "OK I'll just do a factory reset and everything should work great." Sadly it's rarely that simple and when booting up I ended up in what I would call a pseudo-bootloop. It's not really a bootloop but after booting the phone boots into a screen asking to activate your account, atleast this is what should happen under normal circumstances. Instead I end up on a white screen with the settings popup again unable to progress due to the activation being required in order to get to my home screen. I am confused as to why even after a factory reset the settings menu, and therefore activation menu, is still unable to start. Anyone know where I could find information on getting out of such a bootloop or atleast allowing me past the activation screen in order to let me use it is a media device.

[Completed] Remotely erase phone (Note 3)

Hi!
Being at the moment in Cambodia, I just got my phone stolen, then 20 minutes later,... my moto!! UNBELIEVABLE!
I pass on the details but I rushed to lock and erase all the data using Google Android Manager on a computer. My phone could not be located; I assume they had already turned off the device, however I still sent a screen lock password and also requested the deletion of all my data.
1) I understand that the external SD card will also be deleted. Please confirm here that I understood properly.
2) If they already turned off the telephone, what can happen next ? Will my (former) phone receive the command to auto-delete the data as soon as it is turned on, even with a new sim card (or Wifi?? )?
I had private videos and other sensitive stuff that I feel horrible to share with such assho***, so please, tell me what are the different scenarios possible...
I assume they are not very smart technicians anyway...
Thank you very much for your quick answer.

[Completed] I have multiple problems after installing CM-11 to my phone.

My phone is an LG-E980. I'd post the exact link on my phone, but spam prevention wins.
So I have quite a number issues regarding my phone ever since I updated to Cyanogenmod 11. I chose this mod because it was the perfect firmware number for the apps I wished to run, and according to the wiki I linked above, going 12+ would disable my SIM card. However, after installing CM tonight I have alot of problems with my phone.
It seems all related to the hardware. The speakers won't play any sound no matter what I try, including alarms or youtube. With this in mind i'm certain that headphones won't work. The Camera won't even load, and finally the SIM card refuses to even work. It's as if drivers to these parts of my phone flat out don't exist. I'm able to connect to the internet still, and I have full access to my phone + it's recovery, so i'm sure the problem is easily fixed. However, I have absolutely no idea where to start. If anyone could help me, i'd really appreciate it.

Looking for help with backing up an android device

I have an android 9 device which has got broken screen but the phone is very much alive. Its developer settings are on but USB debugging is off. Screen is locked with a numeric pin that I do remember. ADB shows it as unauthorized device. I have family photos in it that I want to backup(I had no cloud backup, I know I’ve been stupid) but I don’t want them circulating on the internet. So, if I get it repaired at an electronics store is it possible my data may get stolen? Please reply only if you know this stuff. The reason I am asking this question here in general QnA is because I want most developers and security experts to see the question rather than only device specific.
1.
To backup an Android device it's Android must be rooted and USB-Debugging must got enabled.
2.
My guess is that any autorized service center has the tool to fetch the data you're are interested in, even if the 2 requirements listed aren't met.
