[Completed] [Q] LG Transpyre stuck in pseudo-bootloop - XDA Assist

Hello. Recently I have attempted a root on my LG Transpyre VS810PP using the method using the method found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...lg-devices-t3049772/post59309508#post59309508 . Being the very well versed and cautious tech-user that I am (sarcasm) I neglected to backup my system data and apps. I was still using the default firmware. While the root seemed to be successful allowing me superuser access I initially noticed nothing wrong. After doing various things including deleting bloatware and giving greater power to many of my existing apps I noticed something when I went to change my background. When I went to settings a received a popup message saying "Unfourtanatly, Settings has stopped working." The second of my genious actions was deciding to just deal with this and I ended up using the phone for another week after realizing the problem. Recently though I was fed up having my settings as well as my phone contacts completly inaccesable and just figured "OK I'll just do a factory reset and everything should work great." Sadly it's rarely that simple and when booting up I ended up in what I would call a pseudo-bootloop. It's not really a bootloop but after booting the phone boots into a screen asking to activate your account, atleast this is what should happen under normal circumstances. Instead I end up on a white screen with the settings popup again unable to progress due to the activation being required in order to get to my home screen. I am confused as to why even after a factory reset the settings menu, and therefore activation menu, is still unable to start. Anyone know where I could find information on getting out of such a bootloop or atleast allowing me past the activation screen in order to let me use it is a media device.

[Completed] [LG G3 D855] Won't connect to store and a few other issues! Please help!

My problem is slightly getting me desperate at this moment. but I do know there must be a way to fix it.
I have an LG G3 D855 phone. Runs on Android 5.0. I have rooted it a couple of months ago, had no issues with it, but in the last few days my phone ceased connecting to the Google Play store. Mainly all the Google Play services are inactive because the phone couldn't connect with my Google account. It kept asking me to Retry, but with no success.
While still rooted I took notice of a method that could've been the solution to this problem - edit the hosts file with a text editor by placing a # in front of the 2nd row of numbers, although the example number given as an instance wasn't matching the form of the number written in the hosts file on the 2nd row. I tried placing it on both rows, each at a time, but with no success as for some reason the hosts file would not change despite saving and exiting. The hosts file is as it was before at the moment, I suppose, with no modification.
My last choice was to factory reset my phone. Which I did. But the problem was still there - ''Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.'' it says this time around. I figured that upgrading the firmware of the phone would fix things, so I went in the SuperSU app settings and tapped 'Full unroot'. It would take forever the first time, so I restarted my phone and the 2nd time it seemed to have worked - the SuperSU app would stop working each time I tried accessing it. I rebooted my phone and the SuperSU was no longer there. However when I tried upgrading the software of my phone it wouldn't let me as my phone is suspected of having been rooted. I read on the internet that there is a more manual way of unrooting your phone by using a root explorer app and deleting some files yourself.
Here's the catch - at the moment I have no internet browser on my phone nor access to the store to download any apps whatsoever. So I'm stuck like this.
I'd appreciate it tons and worlds if any of you could guide me on what to do. A last method would be to flash the phones ROM again or something like that. Keep in mind that I've been an Android user since March and this phone is my first Android phone. I don't have all that much experience, so detailed explanations are really welcome!
Thanks for the help in advance!

[Completed] Crash loop due to stuck text-to-speech download

Hello,
I'm trying to get an Alcatel Idol X (One Touch 6040D, no custom roms or modifications) out of a crash loop, but have been unsuccessful so far. The trouble started when the phone wanted to download and install text-to-speech voice data ("Female for English"). At some point this download/install crashes, causing the phone to reboot. When rebooting the phone hangs on the Alcatel screen with white background. I have to power it off then on again. Then it boots and starts the download/installation again, causing it to crash seconds after.
I've tried the following to no avail:
Clear cache partition from recovery menu.
Force stopping "Download Manager" and clearing cache & data. I have to be very quick to do this, otherwise the phone reboots. Unfortunately clicking the clear buttons has no effect. The used disk space stays the same (80.00KB data, 12.00KB cache). The phone will not reboot at this point, but many apps (Google Play, Settings,...) and processes are crashing repeatedly (android.process.acore, android.process.media and com.google.process.gapps). Eventually, so much has stopped working that the phone reboots.
There's a thread, I found almost a month ago on Androidcentral, about this very same problem. But what worked for the thread starter and other people, i.e. the clearing of cache and data of the "Download Manager" doesn't work for me. Probably because the cache/data clearing is not actually executed. So that might be something to look into further. See point two above. My replies in that thread haven't been responded too, unfortunately.
I'm aware that the cleanest solution is probably a factory reset from the recovery menu. However that would mean data loss of photos and app data, that haven't been backed up. My main goal is to get the phone into a state that a recovery/syncing of that data can be done. After, I don't mind doing a factory reset.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Kind regards,

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. There is no forum specifically for the Alcatel Idol X but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. One thing you could try would be temporarily remove the SIM and stay away from your usual WIFI hotspots, then try booting the phone. There is small chance that it would cause the Download Manager to give up and quit in an orderly fashion, but I'm merely guessing. Since your device is not widely used, please be patient and give the experts in the Q&Q forum plenty of time to respond.
Good luck!
Hello Mike,
thanks for your reply. The trouble I'm having seems not specific to the Alcatel Idol X. In the thread on Androidcentral, people with Samsung and LG devices experienced the same crash loop.
Removing the sim and disabling Wifi had no effect on the problem. Curiously enough I'm not able to enable Wifi again.
How do I proceed with asking the question in General Android Q&A? Do I just create a new thread and copy/paste the content of my initial post? Or does a moderator have to move the thread?
Kind regards,

The easiest way would be for you to create a new thread with all the information that the members there will need to come up with suggestions for you. For future reference: if you want to make sure your data can be easily recovered or transferred from one device to another, consider using the Google sync option (generally found in Settings as "Backup and Reset" or some similar name) that allows you, for example, to recover most apps and data after a factory reset. Someone in the Q&A Forum is bound to have some ideas for you.
Once again, good luck!
Thanks again, Mike. New thread created here.
I will definitely be more vigilant about syncing and backuping!
Cheers,

[Completed] Wikipad 7 Stuck in Setup Wizard Loop (More Info In Thread).

I have recently purchased a Wikipad 7 tablet and have been using it for a few weeks. I rooted the tablet using KingoRoot and the root was successful. Using a app included with the root called Superuser I deleted some system files I considered safe to do so in order to speed up the tablet and free up some space and the tablet worked fine after doing so. A couple of days later, I decided to perform a factory reset in order to get rid of multiple large files I had downloaded but could not have the effort to find. The reset went as normal until I tried connecting to wifi in the setup wizard. A screen showing 'Connecting to wifi' appears for some time before the message 'Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped.' appears and I'm taken back the first screen where I have to choose my language. I have tried multiple times to connect to wifi successfully but to no avail. I have tried things such as turning off the router in order to bypass the process but the screen that appears after skipping wifi configuration (the one which asks permission to let google access your location) shows the same message after tapping on the left or right arrows located at the bottom to let me proceed through the setup or go back.
I have tried to search the internet for a solution to this problem, but the solutions were unexpectedly complicated for me to get around as I not understand some of the terminology used and the steps to fixing the problem seem to be specifically for one kind of device.
If anybody could have any knowledge on how to solve this problem then help would be greatly appreciated. It would be preferable if the method to fixing this problem would be as simple as possible to perform and understand. If you would like any additional information regarding the tablet in order to help with solving the problem, please to not hesitate to ask as I will provide all I can.
Yet again, any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

[Completed] Android Tablet in persistent reboot

My brother inlaw won some cheap (he won it in a vending machine ) Android tablet (7") where you turn it on, you get a splash screen (Tablet PC, Keep Moving Forward) with some animation on that text, then the tablet reboots. Every now and then I have gotten to what seems to be the main screen (like maybe 2 or 3 times) but as soon as you touch the screen it reboots.
I know jack about Android but told him I would take a look. I assume a hardware problem or maybe something corrupt in the software. I have been able to boot into what I will call the root menu. I have tired clearing the user cache as well as a factory reset. No help.
I am thinking it is a hardware issue but it would seem worth reinstalling the software (4.4.4). I have not had much luck figuring out if I can do this (everything I seem to find is on updating the OS not reinstalling or flashing), where to get the files/rom or how to do this. Any direction would be appreciated
