Bricked Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 5100 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, everybody. I have my Galaxy Tab 2 bricked. It's been lagging for the last few months and one day just turned off. I tried to turn it on, use different combinations like vol up + power and so on, but nothing happened - the screen is totally black as the Black Hole. Nothing happens too, when I plug in the charger (even for 24+ hours). I tried to connect in to my PC, and sometimes I see in the corner of my pc's screen, that unknown device is connected. It lasts for about 3 seconds, and then I see "disconnection" window. I had cyanogen 12 on the board. Gonna be very grateful for help. Sorry for my poor English.)

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
On the contrary, your English is good - (much) better than some English-speaking people I run into on Facebook
At any rate, I am connecting this thread to the forum your device experts can be found:

[Q] Milestone 2 Verizon Full Brick

Hello community
My Name is Marvin and I come from germany so pleas apologize my bad english.
First of all I bought a not working Milestone 2 on good terms.
I don't know wich bootloader or android version is installed.
its on from Verizon with a querty keyboard
I use Windows 7 64 bit
The main problem is, that the phone don't start, and any key kombination to send it into recovery or boot mode dont't work. (like power + vol down / power+ up key/ ...)
but when i connect it to the wall charger the white led flashes and if i connect it to the PC the led stays on.
Rsd Lite does not recognize the phone though all drivers are installed.
when connecting the phone to the pc nothing happens but if you press the power button you can hear the standard win 7 sound when connecting a device but 3 seconds later you hear the sound of a disconnection.
therefore my phone is connectet till 20 minutes (without operating with it) and every 5-10 minutes you can hear the attempt of connecting and then disconnecting.
I hope you could help because I don't get any answeres in german forums and so i need help from real pro's
Hi Marvin,
Thankyou for the detailed first post, and welcome to XDA
If you have a Verizon branded Milestone 2, you actually have a Droid 2 - the CDMA variant of the Milestone.
You can find the Droid 2 Forum here. You're looking for information relating to the 'Droid 2 Global', which is the GSM-enabled version. These guys may be able to provide you with a more specific answer
Good luck!
Milestone 2 Verizon Full Brick
thank you for your redirection
have a nice day
Ps: this thread can be deleted or closed.
No worries Marvin, I have moved this thread across to the Droid 2 Global 'General' section for you
Best of luck finding a resolution!
The proper method to get it into bootloader would be to either hold both volume buttons when powering on, or hold the up arrow on the keyboard while powering on.
If that doesn't work, does the screen backlight come on at all?
have you tried, x + power, to get to recovery?
read Droid Wiki: SBF, Recovery, CWM info
too see if there is anything, you missed
like bhigham asked, if nothing is show on screen, it may be your backlight
Thank you for you help
but I tried every method to get into boot/ Recovery mode but nothing happened.
the backlight doesn't turn on and when I pull out the usb cable the led turns off.
So if I try it only with the battery nothing happens
when I put the usb cable in the phone the led turns on :/
I have another battery from another droid 2 ( damaged one) but this does not work at all, the led doesn't turn on even when I put the usb cable in the phone
no Idea?
i really do not want to replace the motherboard :/

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 won't boot/charge/turn on

I live with a friend and they just showed me that they have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that won't boot, turn on, or charge. When pressing the power button the screen flickers black for a second then turns off. Here's what i've tried.
Power Button + Vol Down
Power Button + Vol Up
Power Button + Finger on Screen
Remove back panel and detached battery for 15-30 mins
Tried all of above on and off charger
Tried letting sit for days charging
Still same results. The tablet never got wet/dropped. Just randomly happened one day they unplugged it from charging in the morning :/
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
EDIT: This is a Verizon LTE Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

Maybe battery is too low..u can try plugging charging for 2-3 hrs and then try to boot....
Else
Then no option left rather than go to a service center.......

We kind of figured as much, I just didn't know if there was some other button combo or magically hidden reset button somewhere inside the tablet :/
I've been reading about problems with the Galaxy Tab 2's and weird battery problems/freezes...

Too late for you, but for others with this issue...
I was having this problem for a few days, removing my micro sd card somehow magically fixed it. Think it was trying to boot from the sd card.
Leaving mine in download mode for till the battery died is what caused my tablet to do nothing. I didn't have all the files ready and my setup was crap.

The battery certainly s$%^s on the tab2 but i had a very similar problem which turned out to be the usb/charger/interface cable. when plugged in it appeared that it was charging but the level never increased. after replacing the cable it began showing an increase. it still takes a painfully long time to charge. hope you get it working, its a pretty good tablet when it works :good:
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Won't boot, charge or turn on
I realize this is a late comment on the above thread but I just experienced the same problem with my Tab 2 10.1. I took a close look at both the usb cable and the female receptacle on the tablet and found some very small pieces of trash on both of them. I took a dental pick and very carefully cleaned the receptacle and then used some "canned air" to blow out the trash and I am now back in business. Maybe it will not work for everyone but did the trick for me. Good luck.

[Completed] [Q] Urgent Help Needed!!

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 1s i bought 2 months Ago in August. I rooted my phone 3 days ago and everything seemed fine. But suddenly the phone stopped responding and i tried to reboot it by holding power button which would usually give me a shot vibration but this time it didn't. So i was impatient then took out the battery and placed it back in. I held the power button again which would again vibrate to signal it is turning on but this time it doesnt. I cant even boot to fastboot mode. And occasionally if i plug it to my computer or power source through usb cable, i get a blinking red light from my notification light for awhile the it stops. Im not sure if that is saying something. Furthermore if i connect it to my computer, my computer recognizes it as nine different hard drives rather than a computer. Can Anyone help me fix this? I really need to Fix my phone. I have considered to send it to repair but that would be only in a few days so i was hoping if any of you experts out here could help me out. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
Hi,
I can't find anything helpful unfortunately and As there's no section for your device on XDA, this would be where to ask for help...

HTC One Mini keeps turning on and off after reaching 0%

Hey fellas,
I know there are several threads on this issue, but none of them seems to cover my problem. Today, my HTC One Mini got down to 0%. After i connected it to the power booth, it showed a red blinking light. Nothing special so far. But after 3 Minutes, it showed it would be charging. After two more minutes, it started turning itself on. It vibrates one time, showes me the "HTC - powered by android" screen and then suddenly shuts down again. It shuts down for about 10 Seconds, then starts itself, vibrates and so on and so on.
I've already tried it with two different cables and two different power socket adapaters, also I tried connecting it to my PC via USB. The problem does not seem to change.
I tried rebooting it by pressing the volume down and power button, and the booting screen shows up, but before I can do anything, this damn phone shuts down again.
I'd really appreciate your help, guys!!!
Hi,
It sounds like possibly a stuck power button... A very common issue on many devices. But for other opinions, I will have your thread moved to your device section, here...

I have exactly the same issue after trying to use my phone without the battery (with an external adjustable power supply). The phone worked fine for about a week untill I switched it off. Once I turned it on, it started doing what you describe above.
Have you found any solution to that issue already?

[Completed] Rca 7 Voyager 11 7" tablet is toast!!

Hi,I have the oh so freakishly dreaded rca voyager 11 7" tablet from Walmart.
8gig,lollipop 5.0 ,with 4 core processors, model RCT6773W22 B.
I was trying to root my new tablet using kingoroot. All was going fine or so I thought.at first reboot my tablet was OK but then it got stuck where it was.
So,after a few minutes it kinda flickered a bit, rebooted again but didn't come back on. ...oh here we go I thought!!! I pushed the power button and a screen just flashed and flickered but would not boot.it is stuck at the picture of a battery with an orangish colored lightning bolt (like when battery dies and you plug the charger in.) That logo only stays up for a minute or two the screen goes dark as if it's caught in a boot loop from hell.I have read countless articles, been to umpteen million sites, watched view. Just a big zilcho!!! I'm out of ideas spent gobs taking it to repair shops,3 new usb chargers,3new USB cords..and countless useless tips from friends....you guessed it....zilcho!!! Again!
Any help I can get is truely welcomed and appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!
Robbie_A and his flashing, non responsive tablet.
P.s. Am unable to hard reset tablet or access recovery options or recovery section of tablet. Also must mention I was using windows 7 pro on my laptop to do the root.
