Hi Guys.
I am new to Android and XDA so please HELP.
I am from India. I own a galaxy tab 2 P3100 which was purchased from Singapore. However one day suddenly it got stuck in boot-loop while I was switching it on. I too it the same day to Samsung Care, but they were not able to do anything.
When they returned my tab there was black screen and error - firmware update encounter an issue please connect to kies.
Soon after that I started Reading XDA threads and downloaded 3-4 stock ROM of Samsung tab of different different regions - India, Taiwan, Germany, etc. All ROMs were 4.1.2 Android. I tried flashing them on my tab using Odin 3.09. I started with Taiwan it failed at hidden.img. Same with german and Indian.
Then after installing Indian ROM I also installed CWM recovery and and booted my device normally. It booted without any problem. However as soon as it started the whole screen was white with only back button and an error - Encryption Failed and contained a button called- factory reset.
When I click the button the device powers off and reboots in recovery and do a hard reset with lots of error. However after doing so there is no effect on the error.
Please help.

First I wiped cache partition
It was done without any error.
Then I selected wipe data/factory reset. I got this-
--Wiping data......
Formatting /data.....
Error mounting /data!
Skipping format......
Formatting /cache....
Formatting /sd-ext....
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure......
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format....
Data wipe complete.
Even with this error I again installed Indian Firmware using odin and there was no change.
Plz help!

do you also change some settings in odin like checking or unchecking the re partition option ??
also by default is re partition checked or unchecked ??
I have already tried different different options.
My Custom ROM count is over 40.
Nothing has happened yet.
So please help.
Which recovery do you have??

Hey guys, I recently preformed a factory reset in TWRP on my TF300T in preparation for a new rom install. The reset said it failed (odd) and is now showing 0mb of internal storage on my device. I'm stumped. TWRP now asks for a password and I'm not able to load a new rom or anything now. I've looked for a solution online but this issue is only showing results for the Nexus. If anyone can help. I would be in your debt. Thanks!

The password error usually occurs when you flash an incorect TWRP version on your tablet. Are you sure you didn't accidentally flash one?

100 percent sure. It worked just fine till I did the last factory reset in preparation for a new rom.
Solved!
Had to individually wipe data, system, cache and so on, then did a full factory restore and reinstalled my rom.
Hello everyone. My friend ask me to reset her phone because she forgot the pattern lock, after a few tries the phone reboot (wasn't is suppose to ask gmail acc?).
So i tried to factory reset, clear cache, clear eMMC. But nothing succeed. The thing is after I factory reset, the phone boot up the same pattern lock and the same background image seems like the factory reset doesn't work. I tries SP flash tool to flash to original firmware but the SP flash tool come up with some error.
Anyone got same problem with me? Please kindly solve my problem. Thanks. Sorry for my bad english.

Ever tried removing the SD card while factory reset? Honestly, there is something that prevents phone from factory reset, and I assume it is a system level (I don't know, maybe the ROM itself). I suggest factory reset via ADB and get it flashed stock ROM, anywhere possible.

Thanks bro for the reply. I remove the sim card and the sd card. Tried the ADB to reflash stock rom by using SmartPhone Flash Tool but I got this error message "NAND Flash not detected (1041)" something like that. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Try this fix, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1866962
i forgot my other phone password which is lock..what do i have to do to unlock it
After searching through countless threads on this site, I've had no avail in resetting my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S6 running XtreStoLite 2.2.
A little while ago, I thought it would be a good idea to encrypt my phone with a custom ROM installed. I knew I had recovery and download mode, so I thought It'd be no biggie. Left the phone on overnight encrypting, came back 24 hours later and knew that it hung somewhere. Booted it up and this screen came up: Reset it and restored from TWRP backup, the same screen right here came up: http ://i.imgur.com/J37aZaq .png (sorry XDA will not let me post links, remove spaces) after this, I tried pressing the "reset device" button without success. It just rebooted the phone. Tried to restore from a different backup, no avail, then I tried to flash my custom ROM again through TWRP, no avail. I download ODIN and flashed stock Samsung firmware onto it and it still gave me this screen when I was done. Tried going into TWRP and factory resetting (where it wipes all partitions) and nothing happened. Currently, I'm trying to flash my Samsung Galaxy S6 with the stock firmware through ODIN with the "re-parition" box checked.
It seems there's a hardware flag of some sort stopping this from working. I mean, my file system is brand new, reset to factory defaults, I even checked with ADB and everything has been formatted. Checked with TWRP file manager and everything is good. But I can't get past the "Encryption Failed" screen.
Help me! Thanks.
fix
did you fix this?
Hi, i am encountering the same problem with my G920F.
I have the XtreStoLite_Deo_Mod_v.2.3 and also TWRP installed
I started encrypting but it got stuck so i rebooted my phone and got the same message (Encryption failed, please do a factory reset). So i did the reset but the same screen appeared. I also tried restoring from a back-up from TWRP but the same screen was still there. So i decided to do a full wipe and restore the phone with a twrp back up witch was on my laptop. But when i am in TWRP i can not copy files to (or from) my phone. So it is not possible to get the backup on my phone. I am able to get in to download mode and connect the phone with odin.
My questions are :
- what was the solution to the problem?
- What causes the copying error? And what is the solution? So i can put the backup on my phone and try to restore it this way.
- What are my option with odin? Can i use the TWRP files in odin?
Thanks a lot in advance
Jules
Solved the issue. After a full wipe i installed a stock firmware with odin. It still displayed encryption failed after reboot. But after the factory reset the notification was gone.
I have fixed this
Best solution is on a stock rom to reset. If rooted with recovery -format and wipe all data, reset, let sit at boot for a while, go into recovery and install new rom from USB-OTG, or odin from download mode.
So I was trying to install this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423.
on my g920i. Installed recovery, modem and bootloader as described. Instead of doing a factory reset I accidentally wiped data and my phone is completely wiped down.
So I tried mounting my phone through recovery and copy the rom so I can install it but it won't let me transfer anything ("the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected" message pops up every time I try).
I have no idea what to do. I appreciate any help!
