[HELP]{PLEASE}Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 with unknown errors - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys.
I am new to Android and XDA so please HELP.
I am from India. I own a galaxy tab 2 P3100 which was purchased from Singapore. However one day suddenly it got stuck in boot-loop while I was switching it on. I too it the same day to Samsung Care, but they were not able to do anything.
When they returned my tab there was black screen and error - firmware update encounter an issue please connect to kies.
Soon after that I started Reading XDA threads and downloaded 3-4 stock ROM of Samsung tab of different different regions - India, Taiwan, Germany, etc. All ROMs were 4.1.2 Android. I tried flashing them on my tab using Odin 3.09. I started with Taiwan it failed at hidden.img. Same with german and Indian.
Then after installing Indian ROM I also installed CWM recovery and and booted my device normally. It booted without any problem. However as soon as it started the whole screen was white with only back button and an error - Encryption Failed and contained a button called- factory reset.
When I click the button the device powers off and reboots in recovery and do a hard reset with lots of error. However after doing so there is no effect on the error.
Please help.

First I wiped cache partition
It was done without any error.
Then I selected wipe data/factory reset. I got this-

Formatting /data.....
Error mounting /data!
Skipping format......
Formatting /cache....
Formatting /sd-ext....
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure......
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format....
Data wipe complete.
Even with this error I again installed Indian Firmware using odin and there was no change.
Plz help!

[Q] HELP! can't boot into system after flashing.

Hi all,
I just flashed my i5800 from 2.1 to 2.2, but now I can't boot into system.
The ROM flashed is the stock JPN.
I flashed according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=873645. Everything worked smoothly and I can boot into the 2.2 system. And then I rooted according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872488, it worked too. After that I tried to install some applications. But the phone freezed when I was installing the last app. I rebooted it but it stopped at the shining samsung logo. Then I entered recovery mode and tried to wipe data, but it simply stopped at the message "Formatting DATA...". (I can wipe cache though.). I tried several times to wipe the data but all failed and the phone always stops at the Boot logo when I reset it.
I tried to reflash it. The odin runs successfully as usual and I can see the blue box PASS. But on the phone the screen just shows the following words and wont reboot.
"
--Install from package.
..
Finding update package..
.
Opening update package..
.
Installing update...
--Applying Multi-CSC...
Installing Multi-CSC
--Delete App data...
Delete files, please wait
"

Try flashing the 2.1 version again, then flash JPN.
Thanks a lot for the quick response! I am going to try that. report later.
just flashed with I5800XXJI2. flashing itself worked( I can see the blue PASS box). but it just wont reboot. stuck at the boot logo. i can enter download mode. Should I try other ROM?
because my phone freezed when installing apps (after that i reset the phone and then it wont reboot), i am guessing that some part of data on the phone corrupted (maybe in /data?). Will it help if I flash a rom that contains a datafs.rfs in the ROM? And which ROM contains a datafs.rfs?
all suggestions are welcome!! Thanks.

How long was it stuck at the boot logo? Normally it takes around 7 - 10 mins in the initial boot. Just give it sometime. Or just try flashing the same ROM again.

I waited for more than 10 minutes. To be clear, by "boot logo" I mean the STATIC image containing the words "GT-I5800" and "samsung", not a single shining word "samsung".

Clear your dalvik cache, hold the volume rocker and the home button to enter recovery mode and do it from there.
Ok I see you did that...
Wipe the phone clean, enter the download mode and flash xxjpm, but flash it without the sd card and sim card.

In recovery mode, I can only wipe cache, but can't wipe data, it always stops at "Formatting DATA..." Does that matter? anyway I am going to try jpm

Hmmm. You may then have to flash a ROM which has datafs.rfs
Thank you all for the help.
I will reflash it tomorrow. Will report back by then. I hope I can post a good news here by then .
hey jpn is having the worst bootloader .I suggest to remove bootloader from and then flash it .
yes, my phone is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finally flashed with XXJPF and succeeded. I suspected the problem to be with /data, and shreyasharusia's words reminded me that it might also be the fault of the program that refuses to wipe data (the bootloader? or at least low level controlling program). So I decided to flash a rom with both datafs.rfs, boot.bin and Sbl.bin and picked JPF. Now my phone is completely ok for 5 hours.
Thanks you all so much!

Here. Go to the i5800 section.
You will have to make an account to access the firmwares though.

[Q] Samsung P6200 Stuck on boot

Hi guys,
i've a samsung p6200 and i was running on ics 4.0.4 austria, then i've tried to move to P6200/P6210/T869 CyanogenMod 10 using cwm recovery.
so, since then i couldn't install any other rom without bootlooping.
I tried putting back ICS (previous version) using odin like i did before, it completes without errors but i get stuck on galaxy logo.
I tried several ways of flashing through cwm and heimdall, all go through but end up with the same results :S
Can i get some help? I'm kinda lost here and don't know what to try next.
Thanks in advance.

Your EMMC is gone, tipical hard brick ! look at releated thread ....
It's possible you have executed a "Factory reset" from ICS recovery before ?

Hi,
After a weekend lost searching for a fix to my problem I've decided to take the Tab to repair at the dealer. my tab has an insurance and i will activate it.
for a small resume, i've scanned for partition errors, having received I/O error on mmcblk9 / 10 / 11.
i tried re-partition without success
at last i 've flashed my tab with pit file modified for devices who have bad sector issues and i nearly succeeded, because get an ICS boot but gave me a message that need to do a data wipe because of some encryption. when i made the wipe with the CWM recovery i get mount /data and /sdcard error...
so once that i have insurance i'll use it .
the bad news is that it can take up to ninety days, i'll prai that does not happen and take much less time.
tks

[Q] Odin back to UCLB3 (2.3.6.) ATT logo loop + rfs format failed

Hi all,
hope you can help me with this one...
I came from Beanstalk 4.4.240, rooted it way back, everything worked fine.
Now I wanted to get back to stock 2.3.6.... First I tried Heimdall, but its not detecting the phone, although Windows does (Sound at USB connection).
Therefore I switched to Odin as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523
I used the Option A, adhered to all the rules (including step 4 of wiping cache and data).
Odin flashed successfully.
After reboot though I get the following error in the red recovery mode (after the update package installed successfully):
"e: format_volume: rfs format failed on dev-block-stl10"
"wipe cache not successful"
I then did the cache wipe manually, and it does it successfully.
Upon rebooting though its stuck on the ATT logo loop...
When I then go into recovery mode, the following message appears:
"e:copy_dbdata_media: cant mount /dbdata your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for fomrat and reboot actions
Media files copy failed.
#Manual Mode#
...
Successfully applied multi-CSC"
Any ideas what to do here? I'm thinking it could be a partitioning problem...
I just want to make sure I flash the correct thing to fix this...
Oh and currently I moved on to Option B of the odin pack from above in the hope it could fix it - flash is successful, but error messages are completly the same...
Any help is highly appreciated!!!
Fixed
So I tried a different package with PIT, PDA & Phone (this buddy here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27286083)
...and it worked!! Im back at stock

Need help with Galaxy Fit S5670

Model: Galaxy Fit S5670
I wanted to install unofficial cm11 to it and so I rooted it, however in some steps i messed it up and now I have what I believe is claled a hardware lock. So basically it won't boot, go to recovery as it will show a phone-->Yellow Triangle--> PC but it will go in download mode.I have tried with different versions of ODIN and different firmwares(one package) and ops but I always find myself stuck at flashing system. It just stays there forever and won't go on. I even let it for 45 minutes and didn't do anything. Any help is appreciated as I have read many forums and guides but I cannot seem to figure this out. Note: It is an old phone so no warranty.
EDIT: After multiple tries I managed to flash it with cooper_v1.ops and with Indian firmware from sammobile. However now I came back to my original issue. I have now rooted my phone through this guide: https://theunlockr.com/2012/11/22/h...fit-gt-s5670-running-android-2-3-gingerbread/
and flashed cwm recovery version v5.0.2.7 through this guide: https://theunlockr.com/2012/11/22/how-to-install-custom-recovery-on-the-samsung-galaxy-fit-gt-s5670/
but after I wipe data/ reset and cache, installation of cyanogenmod11 gets aborted and doesn't work. I've heard this may be due to old version of cwm but I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated. Also note, I have tried cm11 from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581415 and can't find any other unofficial cm11 or even cm10 with a working link. Also, the error showing when I try to install cm11 is "set_metadata_recursive: Some changes failed" "E:Error in /sdcard/cm-11-2014-0116-NIGHTLY-beni.zip" "Status 7" Installation aborted. I also noticed that when I wipe data / reset it says "Formatting /data.... Formatting /cache... Formatting /sd-ext... and E:format_volume: make extf4fs failure on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 Formatting /sdcard/.android_secire/ Data wipe complete." The failure could be linked to the abort of the installation but I have no knowledge on it.
EDIT 2: I messed up something, and when I try to flash it with the same odin exe, same BENI_v1.0.ops and same one package it will get stuck at system but like once does work once in 50 times??? I honestly am confused and don't understand why. And it wasnt the first time I did it that it worked either.

Hi !
It is impossible for anyone to write any tool for a device that one doesn`t own
If you`re able to boot int recovery , is there any option to format data ? Format not delete or erase

Yes I Tries Format Data In Recovery Mode But Still Same Error. I Tries Wipe Cache After That Also Failed To Mount /cache error is showing. I am only able to access apply updates from ADB & apply Updates from SD Card Options
Go back to the thread where you have downloaded the recovery and be sure that it is for your device variant, flash it again and do format data again
