Note5 restarts on its own... - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hey all, my wife has a Note5 that's been great so far. But today she told me it restarted on its own but didn't fully come back on. She said the blue led was on but dim but it was unresponsive. I had her hold power/volume down and it restarted. Has anyone experienced this and have any thoughts on it? As far as I know it didn't update as I try to keep up with maintenance on her phone as well. Thanks...

That happened to me after I rooted and had the phone in battery saver mode. Since running Moar ROM and taking the phone off battery saver it hasn't happened again over the last 3 days. I think it's the battery saver option being turned off that did the trick though. Is her phone on battery saver? If it is, try turning that option off.

[Q] Brightness problem (S-on,not rooted, stock rom)

hello
my friend got senny same day as i did and from same seller. basicly, the same phone. its not rooted, s is on, stock rom. brightness controll is set to 100%, autobrightness is off, power saver is off. changing brightness controll actually changes brightness but overall, screen is much darker than on my phone which is set to 40%.
her problem occured when her battery drained out, she charged it, turned phone on and after couple seconds, screen went darker.
i tried removing battery, reseting phone, made factory reset, played with brightness controll and power saver and nothing seems to help. i searched forum here, and i found no answers.
can anyone help me with this please
You can try to take out the battery and wait for 30min or more some problems are gone after this. If this doesn't help you can try to put in the battery of your phone and see if the problem is still there. If nothing helps it would be better to change the phone. Take the working phone with it so that you can show the difference in the shop.

ok thank you i will try that and report later to let you know.
anyone has any other suggestions?
ok...
i did what you said and both things (switching battery and waiting for 30 mins) solved problem.
thank you for fast answer
I got exactly the same problem, but with s-off, rooted, custom rom
Anyway - the battery pull made it fine for me too. Just wanted to inform, maybe it will help more people!

nexus 5 stop working! no sign of life! nothing! don't let it die!

Hello all,
So I have been using my phone since it was released back in 2013 with no problems except battery very lately. I'm rooted on the stock 5.1.1 with no modification whatsoever, no xposed too. As I mentioned my battery was not lasting long at all. I was watching a video on vimeo on chrome with like 6 percent battery and all of a sudden the phone shut off!
I plugged it in assuming the battery died but there was also no sign of charging on the phone too! It just looks like dead dead phone. I left it on charge for a while, still nothing, try to connect to pc to see if it is recognizable, still nothing... Screen doesn't power on, no notification light, power button and volume button combinations to boot it to the recovery doesn't work as well. Whatever I tried, I didn't get any respond back from the phone.
Has anyone experience such thing before? Or what else I should try to make it work again?
I don't wanna say good bye to my awesome nexus 5 like that. Any help is appreciated

Holding the power key turns it on normally. Heppened like 3 times now. When it is charging, but I use it for like a few hours nothing heppenes, its not turning off when I use it. And all kind of stamina and battery life savers are off. Dont have a fishy app or anything either.

S7 Black Screen + Blue LED

Hi All,
I wonder if you may be able to help. This morning we discovered one of our S7 phones was a black screen with solid blue light. It seemed completely unresponsive to touch, wouldn't wake. etc. The home, volume and power buttons seemed to do nothing. I plugged the phone into the computer, it didn't pick up a USB device.
Phone is stock from EE in the UK. No custom anything. Model: SM-930F 32GB.
EE and Samsung couldn't suggest anything to help.
We tried Power + Volume Down - This results in one of the following;
A (A battery with the current fill %) this happens when plugged in
B (Samsung Galaxy S7 powered by android) loading screen which then cycles or returns to a black screen with solid blue LED
We also tried Power + Volume Down + Home button. This does load the Warning screen about using a custom OS.
We have next day replacement warranty on the phone, i don't need to fix this phone. We only want to try and recovered some data and photos
Any help appreciated.
Kind Regards.

Hi, try turning off the App Power saving mode!! i had these problems also and it was caused by a app that cant handle the always on setting so when you use that app and then turn the phone in standby it will cause the freeze/black screen
Were you ever able to fix this problem? I just had it happen to me and I'm in the same situation.
This just happened to me. After an hour spent with tier II tech support, no progress.
You need to let the phone die completely. Once it's dead (and the blue light) is no longer dead, plug the phone into an OEM walk charger. In my situation,my s7 edge would vibrate to recognize the charge, than reset - before it could even build up a charge (so I thought). I left it alone for an hour or so, and amazingly, it booted up like normal.
Good luck!
I have this problem. How long will it take the battery to drain from fully charged with just the blue light on.
This just happened to me as well. I hope draining the battery works. This occurred when my battery drained and the phone turned off. When I tried to turn it back on after letting it charge for a few minutes it looked like it started to boot, then went to a black screen with a solid blue light. No button combination has any effect.
EDIT: Waiting until the battery died and then attempting to charge the phone has had no effect. No combination of keys has an any effect, either.
EDIT #2: I've taken my phone into the Verizon store. They tell me it's an issue with software and the phone is dead. They said this is "rare". Considering what I see here, I can't say how rare I find it. I have insurance, so they're replacing it, but now they're not keeping up their end of the deal on when the replacement phone will be delivered.
Flash it!
I had the exact same symptoms. What did the trick for me was draining out the battery and then fully charging it, WITHOUT TURNING ON the phone. If you do turn it on, you need to drain it out again. When the phone was fully charged I booted up the download mode and flashed the stock firmware with Odin. That was it, my Galaxy S7 was fully functioning again.
Hope this helps someone out there.
Just experienced kinda the same problem.
S7 died overnight on the charger. I was lucky to wake up on my own.
Just blue led.
I let it drain out over the day so it turned off (vol- + power no working).
Charged it a bit and try to go to recovery: loaded recovery but completely frozen.
I let it drain again and recharged it after it turned off.
Then I went to DL mode and reflashed latest carrier stock rom. AP. CP. BL. CSC. All.
Flashed fine! After rebooting it said "erasing...", rebooted and is back to the blue led only.
Strongly suggesting a hw issue at this point.
I'll let it drain again, fully recharge it, flash a non branded stock rom. If that wont work i'll probably need to bring it to my carrier on monday. Too bad its friday...
//Phone is r.i.p. even after a re flash of stock fw with full battery it only boots to blue led.
//Phone even deader. No more response in any way.
(some time later)
//Just received the repair report. The mainboard and some minor components were replaced under warranty even though my phone was rooted. Good thing for me it never turned on again.

Is my phone dead?

Hello, I am using galaxy S3 stock rom and my phone keeps shutting down/rebooting when I am using it. Sometimes I let it charge and 20 minutes later it turns off and I have to try many times to boot it. Many times I let my phone on airplane mode at night at 53% battery and It drains completely. I tried other batteries but still the same thing. Did anyone ever experience this?
Thanks

If you're sure it's not a battery problem, and you've run a battery calibration after backup, factory reset, and restore, just to be completely positive, you might want to see if it is a power button issue. The internals of the button get stuck every so often, and I found that when it was usable, I still got huge battery drain, and sometimes turning off and on by itself. There was a place near me that fixed the button on my S4 mini for $15, worked just like new.
I found that the phone was losing battery when when turned off, try leaving it off overnight and if it drains, it's probably an issue with the button.
If it's just a software problem, then that won't help. What does the OS say is using the battery? Maybe check for wakelocks with a battery saving app, I'm sure someone could recommend something

I had a problem which was similar to this but the phone I got is LYF Flame 7.
My phone was automatically shutting down a few minutes after the device is locked, I investigated every setting to check whether anything like auto shutting down or sleep or something was enabled , but every settings were okay but the problem continued.
When I bought this phone, I was disabled a lot of useless stock apps . I re-enabled all these apps to their default and then the problem is solved.
So you just try reverting your apps to their default,if you have tried to disabled it.
Clear its Cache and Misc
Also try a factory reset and try to boot the phone without any SIM cards and SD card.
In my knowledge , I think , the problem of your phone is software related and hardware is okay.
And keep investigating in S3 threads.
