EMUI 3.1 - Difference between Smart and Normal battery modes - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I would to know the technical difference between those two modes. I have seen that in Smart mode, that is supossed to limit the CPU power, the CPU speed reach the maximum speed (1,3-1,7Ghz) as normal mode does, so I don´t know the difference.
Thanks in advance

it limits cpu and gpu load and you can feel a few lags in smart mode
whereas in normal mode performance and gaming FPS are higher with no lags
In smart mode standby time is as great as doze in marshmallow i.e about 1% drain in 5-6 hrs

Overclocking: Queries

Hi,
I need to ask a few questions regarding Overclocking.
What is the minimum speed that I can set during display out (so that the device does not hang when the display becomes "on"?
If Overclocking consumes a lot more battery, then wouldn't underclocking result in a longer battery (provided the display remains off)?
Can it increase the internet speed (I have an edge connection)?

With VOX-OC i use the settings
228 - 180 - 180.
I have tried several other settings but I think it makes my vox unstable...
With TPC on automatic mode, mine goes down to 132 MHz when the load drops!
228 - 180 - 180 is a good setting.
but it causes a slight delay when you try to unlock the keypad(if its locked).
I use 228-196-196.
and the battery life is not exactly inversely proportional to speed.
so you will not get any noticeable increase in battery life if you drop it below 180Mhz mark, though it will definitely make your device show a lag or delay when you wake it up from sleep.

Automatically set CPU speed depending on conditions

Hello
Is there a application that allows me to, for example, when motion has been detected to the screen the default speed is set, while if no motion has been detected the CPU is set to 75% and when the screen turns off and the phone is locked, the CPU is set to 30% (all of these are examples)
Something that automatically sets the speed when different conditions happen. I believe SetCPU cant do that.
Thanks
SetCPU. You can set yourself the speed of the core cpu when the screen is off, or when you're charging the phone. Other than that. Your CPU actually knows when to increase the core speed and when to lower it down.

Ah SetCPU supports the things I asked? Did not know.

It does exactly what you're asking for. Use the profiles feature for the screen off setting. Otherwise, it automatically scales based on usage.
SetCPU can't set speeds by gestures/motion as far as I know. It can only do charging status, screen status, battery % and temperature...
For maximum flexibility what we need is a Tasker/Locale plugin that can change the CPU speed. Or maybe you could program Tasker with intents?

The CPU Load is always high? anyone can hel me?

Hello , I've received my xz for ten days , but the CPU load is always high even when the phone is idle. Just like the screenshot, there is obviously no app currently running in background , but the CPU load can reach 38% and all 4 cores are on. Back to the days with my z3, the snapdragon 801 often only have 1 or 2 cores working in idle state, so anyone can tell me what causes this problem?
Btw, when I switch on the stamina mode , the phone will become very laggy, I think it's also related to the CPU load problem.
I appreciate your help , thank you.
You need to check the battery and see what apps are displaying there as to taking up your usage..
If you cannot figure it out you may need to perform a factory reset and monitor as you install each of your apps.
the stamina mode will make the phone laggy as it also decreases the performance of the CPU

thank you?i used the top command in terminal , but no app was consuming a lot of CPU , that's strange

[HELP] Only 2 cpus working on performance mode

Hi all, while I was playing a game, I noticed some lag on balanced mode, so I decided to put on performance mode, but lag was still there.
Because of this, I downloaded cpu-z and it seems that on balanced mode just CPU 0 is working, while the other three are stopped (which is fine, I think), but on performance mode, CPU 1 and CPU 2 are stopped, while CPU 0 and CPU 3 are at full speed, heating up the device a lot (up to 70°C).
I'm currently running MIUI 8 v7.6.8 global, full stock.
Is there a way to make all CPUs working at the same time, without keeping all of them at full speed?
Added screenshots of cpu-z both on balanced and performance mode.

Try this.

CPU performance goes down after 15% battery (Battery Saver is OFF)

Ok,
so when the phone reaches 15% and the message saying that i should activate Battery Saver appears, the performance of the phone goes down and the games are not smooth anymore.
I do not activate Battery Saver, but obviously something happens that limits the CPU speed. Can this be deactivated somehow?
Thanks a lot!
Probably lower voltage on battery, hence lower voltage on CPU/GPU and lower boost clocks.
But still, there must be something applied by the OS as the switch happends instantly at 15%. I' m guessing it' s something we don't have access to.
