Hey just a heads up.. did anyone look to see that they got the Google Play Services automatically download and run on their phones.. Also check out what this app has access to. pretty much has total control of your phone. And the best part if you force stop or uninstall, it just shows up again, TIBU can not even freeze it, even thou it shows it has frozen the app, it is still running, if you force stop it , it just starts right back up again.
Nevermind all of the google crap uses the same authorizations.

Hello
Ever since the Google Play Services update from a week or so ago I get this continuous notification. Does anyone know how to stop it? I updated to the latest G.P.S. from a few days ago and it still there. I do not have Wear installed or a AW device (yet) and Bluetooth is always off. It can't be dismissed and clicking it doesn't nothing.
Anyone else getting this?
bump
anyone else has gotten this message pop up?
I'm having this problem as well. I previously had a moto 360 which I sold and I then uninstalled the app. Probably around the same time as you, I started getting the notification (I noticed it coincided with a google play services update as well) but this was long after I had uninstalled the android wear app.
I can't turn off bluetooth, otherwise my pebble would be useless, so that isn't a solution for me (though it sounds like that doesn't work anyway). Long pressing on the notification to bring up app info tells me the Google Play services is the app responsible for the notification. Rebooting the phone gets rid of the notification temporarily but it always seems to come back.
I've just tried clearing the cache for g p s and rebooted so I will have to wait and see if it comes back.
A search of the android wear subreddit shows three people there have had the same issue so that makes 5 of us (or 4 if you are one of them), but no solution.
It's hard to tell how much it has impacted my battery but google play services is right at the top of the list for battery usage on my phone lately
HI guys, I hope you can h help me. I'm getting this error "Unfortunately google play services has stopped" pretty much every minute (it sits in an overlay and pops up every time). Here is the crash log, for what it matters:
Code:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Wake lock not active: [email protected] from uid 10013 at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1544)
at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1493)
at android.os.IPowerManager$Stub$Proxy.updateWakeLockWorkSource(IPowerManager.java:500)
at android.os.PowerManager$WakeLock.setWorkSource(PowerManager.java:1191)
at com.google.android.gms.stats.c.a(SourceFile:393)
at com.google.android.location.reporting.service.f.a(SourceFile:754)
at com.google.android.location.reporting.service.d.handleMessage(SourceFile:463)
at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:102)
at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:135)
at android.os.HandlerThread.run(HandlerThread.java:61)
Now, OK I might have accidentally caused this, in the sense that I have played around a little with the privacy guard to optimize the battery and google services is one of the apps I have tweaked - in fact the log says there is a problem with the wake lock, which makes sense, but I thought that was a good way to reduce battery consumption. Perhaps I was wrong? I mean I have disabled the application 's wake up, surely there is a way to make sure that it is disabled and get rid of the error? What do you guys think? Or is it better to get hold of an app that does all this for you?

I have also disabled keep awake, but for location reporting (since that is the main reason), you need to have wake up enabled - it caused the same issue for me.

Well, I have re-enabled wake up but left keep awake and auto start turned off, both for google services and Google play store, and no joy, the message still comes up. SHould I also re-enable auto start? For "Location reporting" presumably you mean "Location Services" as I can't find anywhere Location reporting. Once I get into Location services there is nothing to disable/enable though. Unless you mean Location under google services/google play store, if so that's is allowed at the moment.
thanks
In my case I turned auto start back on for Google service and that fixed my issue I don't remember messing with location reporting

Never Ending Error
Has anyone come up with a resolution on this issue? I am so frustrated that I am ready to move to iPhone (joking).
I keep getting the unfortunately google play services has stopped. I have no idea how to proceed. I have changed ROMs but no dice - anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks so much for your help.
Have the same problem but no solution.
When I need to enter playstore, I clean data and cache, so it works, just to enter, do what I gave to and exit. Afterward the same mess..... Next time to enter the same all over again.
Try changing your gps quick settings toggle from high accuracy to something else.
That's for the one of you with the google play store problem, using leandroid as a battery saver.
You have to go to app exception in leandroid and tick ON check the backround service on the google play apps. After these reboot and google play store should work from now on.
O.k. guys, looks like I was a little bit to fast with my comment. It happend again. New search, new fun. Sorry for this.
I know this post is a bit old, but i just got this problem today and the solution was to turn on the Keep Wake feature of Google Play Services.
On my device (OnePlus One) I had to go to Privacy->Privacy Guard->(Enable "Show built-in apps")->Long press "Google Play Services" to edit its definition->Turn on "Keep Wake"
(I had it turned off to save battery)
Since the error said Wake lock not active I just activated it xD and it worked!
Hope this helps people with the same problem!
Hello!
I've been facing this problem and the two/three seconds unresponsiveness for a while and it's getting more than enough.
But let's focus on the play services thing. It says "Google play services is not responding, close it?" Out of nowhere and for no obvious reason that I could see. I mean the way Ive been using the phone hasn't changed since I bought it and before all this appear. Any help? Take a look on the screenshot. and btw clearing the Google services data didn't work.
I set up my Pixel 2 yesterday and noticed that whenever I try to access a search within "Settings" I get a "Google Play Services has stopped working." Nothing seems to fix it. I've tried 1) uninstalling updates to restore back to factor installed version but get a "Uninstall unsuccessful" message and 2) Trying to uninstall Google Play Services in hopes of reinstalling. It takes me to Play store with instructions that I need to "deactivate" before uninstalling but the deactivate button doesn't work. I also tried emptying the cache but that did nothing too. Is this a known issue with Play Services and is there something else to try?
You could try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, call google support.
I did a factory reset and now it works most of the time. It seems like it may also be affected when "developer options" is enabled...I like to disable animations to make Android feel snappier.
