Installed this morning Google Play Services 7.5.62 and every few minutes, during normal use, it FC'c with message "Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped".
I have COS12 not rooted.
I was on Google Play Services 7.3.x and never had a problem.
Anyone else?
Just started constantly yesterday.. I've upgraded to latest 7.5.66 (1939950-438) I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

Try clearing app's cache and then wipe cache also from recovery: no FC's for me after that
Have this problem too. Tried clearing data from the app, then clearing cache and dalvik. It resolves the issue for a few minutes, but then the FCs return. The only way to stop it is to turn location to "device only".

Confirmed - No more annoying popup! Thanks for the heads up! I'm about to go away for the weekend and I just need it to work.. I'll deal with it when I get back sunday.
Anyone with a solution yet?
Solution. Flash older version, wait for Google to fix this
I'm now on 7.5.71 and am not experiencing any issues.
You guys applied any wakelock fixes to Google Play Services in Privacy Guard? See if it still crashes if you revert the changes
I am on 7.5.71 at the moment and I kerp on getting very often the msg that it has stopped working.
It seems that the cuplrit is privacy guard: if I enable wake up e keep awake then all is OK, but if I deny the error comes back.
Someone suggested to put location to device only, so maybe it' a combination on causes.
We are discussing this in the official opo forum and many support this.
I am on 7.5.71 too and I found out this:
- if I disable wake up, keep awake and automatic start (in privacy settings) I always get the fc problem, but if I go on gps settings and choose "device only" then the are no more fc's
- with default settings in privacy guard (all enabled) and with high precision in gps settings, I'm not getting fc's
Exactly, same for me.
So it is a combination of privacy guard and GPS localization.
Same problem here. So what then drains less battery? GPS location oder Google Play Services not being limited?
At the moment I have all enabled in privacy guard (so nothing is blicked)/and localization set to maximum, no FC's and overnight in 7 houd lost only 3%
This is weird.
I'm on CM12S, YU Yureka and play services 7.5.71 and even I face the exact same problems
Who here has Amplify?
The problem has gone away once I've undelayed the UrlDispatching Wakelock.

Thank you! I have a droid maxx, but I had the same problem it seems. I suspected it was something with amplify, but I thought it was more likely to be the location alarm/service. would never have figured this out. I tested this by turning the urldispatching wakelock from default to delayed by just 240 seconds. when delayed, the GP services where FCing every few seconds while running gps navigation. remove the delay and the FCing immediately goes away.
Screenshot attached, horrible problem, already disabled using disable service the google play service systemupdateservice and the wakelocks were fine but every reboot i have to enable and redisable it again, is there anything to do?
Update: i reenabled it and then disabled again, now it is not showing up, until next reboot.. but I noticed another one, fingerprintscannerstatic, which caused by google+ but I dont even have this app..
Noticed that Google Play Services battery optimization is grayed out and I can't turn in on.
Anyone Encountered that before ?
Thanks
OK,
Never mind that. it appears it the normal behavior with the 8.3.xx Google Play Services daemon
Anyone figured out, how to enforce it to be otimized anyway? Google might not want me to, however I definitely want to...
Hello!
I've been facing this problem and the two/three seconds unresponsiveness for a while and it's getting more than enough.
But let's focus on the play services thing. It says "Google play services is not responding, close it?" Out of nowhere and for no obvious reason that I could see. I mean the way Ive been using the phone hasn't changed since I bought it and before all this appear. Any help? Take a look on the screenshot. and btw clearing the Google services data didn't work.
I'm wondering if anybody else is having similar problems.
Upgraded to the T-Mobile Nougat 7.0 OTA update. After that, I'm having constant "GPS signal not found" errors in Pokemon Go and my weather widget (1Weather) is having problems finding my location to update. Restarts don't do anything and this problem only happens periodically. Sometimes the apps work! They worked perfectly fine in Marshmallow.
Other GPS apps like Google Maps and GPS Status are working fine; pinpoints my location to within 20 feet. I've tried clearing and re-downloading AGPS data, un/re-installing the malfunctioning apps, clearing cache, data, revoking all permissions to re-enable them. None of that works.
go to Setting > Apps > select app you want > Permissions > disable GPS Permission
and reopen the app and check if it crashes or asking for permission again.
try this solution with restart and let me know if problem remains
Good Luck

Haha
the answer to my question should be No Error or crashes!
I read those that you have problem!
check this
you Disabled GPS permission! >> relaunched the app >> what happened?
- nothing
- crashes
- ask for gps permission

:good:
It asks for permission. I grant it. I get, "GPS signal not found".
Update: Sometimes a toast popup comes up that says Google Play Services has stopped responding (crashed). When this crashes, it seems to fix the GPS issues. So I guess now I just have to wait for a proper update for Nougat and the S7...
I have this same issue (same setup as well). I haven't opened my weather app yet (rather just look at the sky ), but I do have constant issues with Pokemon GO. It will just sit there endlessly trying to get the GPS signal, but it doesn't have issues if I am moving.
I have found multiple reddit threads and Samsung support threads on the GPS issue with no luck.

I have been reading up on all of them today, as I normally have zero issues while sitting at my desk. I have toggled many options including optimize battery usage, location itself, clear cache, downloading GPS status and toolbox, and rebooting.
Right now the changes I have made from default are turn off the new app power saving monitoring (settings>battery>3 dots>advanced settings>disable app power monitor), turned of wifi scanning and bluetooth scanning.
The root of my problem was attempting to use the pokemon go plus. It allows the app to use the location of the device in the background while the screen is off and the app is not in the foreground. It was not lighting up every 5 minutes for the pokestop like it normally does. Going to maps, I discovered my location was way off. After opening the app, it would correct itself after a few seconds, but other times it would not.
This is also affecting smart lock (unlock) which allows you to choose locations where your phone does not require a password or fingerprint to unlock. It had always been flaky, but lately actually worked fairly well.
GPS issues is far from the only issue. I see monthly updates coming to us for a while (hopefully carriers will be right behind)
turning off battery optimization for locationservices seems to have made a difference. Smart lock is now working consistently and I am no longer drifting in my app. I also rebooted right before making this change, so that could have an effect too. I am going to leave it like this for a couple days to see if it helps. This makes sense, as the doze feature in nougat got reworked.
If you go to the Location settings, you'll notice that the "Locating Method" will randomly change between High Performance, Battery Saving, and Device Only. Pokemon Go is not compatible with Battery Saving, so if you get that error message when you know your GPS is enabled, go to Location settings and switch the Locating Method to either High Performance or Device Only. (Quickest way to do that is to press & hold on the GPS icon in the notification shade, which'll take you directly to the setting you need to toggle.)
The problem I'm having is getting that setting to stick. It seems to randomly change its Locating Method throughout the day, and I can't figure out how to force a static setting.
Here's what I've figured out, works 100% of the time:
1. Go to your device administrators and disable Android Device Manager (ADM).
2. Force Close Google Play Services.
3. Re-enable ADM.
4. GPS works now.
This thread is old, but the annoying problem persists.
I have this damn "GPS Signal not found" in Pokemon Go, too since i updated to Android 7.0.
Outside the GPS works fine and a have no problems. Inside buildings i have trouble with this damn bug since Android 7.0.
Sometimes it workes, sometimes not. If the phone is laying flat on the desk, the error comes up. Then i take the phone up and shake it a little bit, then the error goes away. After laying the phone back, the error comes up again.
Stopping google play services, clearing and updating the AGPS data and reassigning the permissions to the app didnt work.
Is there possibly a new useless battery saving feature in Android 7.0 thats checks for the accelometer and stops the gps service if there is no motion ?
I disabled the battery saving feature completly in the settings.
Has someone got successful rid of this damn error ? Or do i need to flash Android 6.0.1 for better gameplay ?
Any updates on this issue?
There seems to be lots of problems with GPS on these devices, and also on devices with similar chipsets (looking at you, MSM8996) all over the Internet.
Zero solutions so far :-/
I am suffering something similar.
I have tried Sygic, Here maps, Google maps and Waze.
Basically GPS location is turning on-off every few seconds (not check mark, But signal is turning on off)
For a while GPS finds location, guides me, Then arrow just stops. After few seconds It finds location again (I will have moved few 100 meters further by then, So display suddenly jerks to new location).
Very annoying.
I am running lineage OS 14.1 (Android 7.1) on Zenfone selfie ZD551KL.
Have already tried various builds of Lineage along with full format.
