Problems with 5GHz wifi on CM12.1? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Have other folks encountered issues with 5GHz wifi on their devices running custom ROMs?
Messages during boot-up seem conflicted about the functionality:

I performed this install from a clean wipe and used the latest (20151026) nightly.
Data over 2.4GHz and cellular seems to be functioning fine.
our device doesn't support 5 GHz WiFi according to many reviewers.
My mistake, sorry.

[Q]Keep changes to audio hardware.
I need help reviewing my logs to find out what change I need to keep. I rooted my device(HTC One V) and for some reason the audio drivers were changed and now sound like crap. I have NEVER found a fix for this(if one could be suggested I'd be incredibly grateful). I did, however, while using the app "Sensor Music Player" notice that when I changed the app's settings to "pocket mode"(slapping pocket changes song) the audio drivers were changed and the music sounded waaay better(got my bass back!). Now every time the app closes the audio drivers are switched back and any other sound returns to sounding bad. Long story short, I want to permanently change the audio hardware to use these settings; in turn making my sound better. Here's my log, hopefully someone can find what its changing: 12-04 15:51:02.296 W/InputMethodManagerService(1721): Window already focused, ignoring focus gain of: [email protected] attribute=null 12-04 15:51:02.507 D/SensorDataHelper(30307): load ->id:2, prox(false), acc(true):{9999;9999;2350;30000} 12-04 15:51:02.507 D/ (30307): try to load preset while service is stopped 12-04 15:51:02.537 D/ (30307): SensorService onCreate() 12-04 15:51:02.557 D/ (30307): SensorService onStart() 12-04 15:51:02.557 D/ (30307): SensorService onStartCommand() 12-04 15:51:02.737 D/SensorDataHelper(30307): load ->id:2, prox(false), acc(true):{9999;9999;2350;30000} 12-04 15:51:02.777 D/SOUND_METER(30307): setAudioSource 12-04 15:51:02.777 E/AudioPolicyManagerBase(17539): profile found: device 400000, flags 0, samplingrate 8000, format 1, channelMask 16 12-04 15:51:02.777 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): AudioHardware:penInputStream devices 400000 format 1 channels 16 samplerate 8000 12-04 15:51:02.777 I/AudioHardware7x30(17539): msm7x30_set_audpre_params not present 12-04 15:51:02.777 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): AudioStreamInMSM7x30::standby() 12-04 15:51:02.787 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): AudioStreamInMSM7x30::standby() 12-04 15:51:02.797 I/MPEG4Writer(17539): limits: 2147483647/0 bytes/us, bit rate: 12200 bps and the estimated moov size 3072 bytes 12-04 15:51:02.817 I/AudioHardware7x30(17539): do input routing device 400000 12-04 15:51:02.817 I/AudioHardware7x30(17539): Routing audio to Speakerphone 12-04 15:51:02.817 I/AudioHardware7x30(17539): msm7x30_set_audpre_params not present 12-04 15:51:02.817 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): value of device and enable is 3 1 ALSA dev id:11 12-04 15:51:02.927 I/AudioHardware7x30(17539): do input routing device 400000 12-04 15:51:02.927 I/AudioHardware7x30(17539): Routing audio to Speakerphone 12-04 15:51:02.927 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): new_rx = 6 12-04 15:51:02.927 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): new_tx = 11 12-04 15:51:02.927 E/AudioHardware7x30(17539): updateDeviceInfo: E rx_device 2 and tx_device 3 12-04 15:51:02.927 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): No active voicecall/playback, disabling cur_rx 2 12-04 15:51:02.927 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): value of device and enable is 2 0 ALSA dev id:6 12-04 15:51:02.927 D/AudioHardware7x30(17539): case PCM_REC 12-04 15:51:02.927 E/AudioHardware7x30(17539): updateDeviceInfo: X cur_rx 2 cur_tx 3 12-04 15:51:03.457 I/MPEG4Writer(17539): setStartTimestampUs: 268525 12-04 15:51:03.457 I/MPEG4Writer(17539): Earliest track starting time: 268525 12-04 15:51:03.918 I/ActivityManager(1721): Start proc com.facebook.katana for service com.facebook.katana/.service.MediaUploadService: pid=30496 uid=10153 gids={3003, 1006, 1015, 1028} 12-04 15:51:03.948 I/dalvikvm(30496): Turning on JNI app bug workarounds for target SDK version 10... also if someone can determine why my ROM and kernel are making my phone's audio sound like crap.... RK3066 device (Gemini Joytab) Custom rom?
After owning this tablet (to be specific the Gemini Joytab 9.7 duo 10313BK-rev2) for a number of months, I've kept my eyes peeled for custom rom development on this platform and seen nothing. In the interest of kick starting something, I've noticed that there is development for numerous other RK3066 devices. I'm knowledgeable in most things root related, but development is slightly beyond my knowledge at the moment. Would roms such as this be compatible? Or maybe work after minor edits?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922577 I can't be the only one who owns this device, and wants to improve it! Click to collapse It seems that there's work to move Cyanogenmod to RK30SDK/RK3066 devices http://www.cm3066.com/ Custom recovery is a good start! Saw a thread which details CWM for our device, although I haven't flashed yet due to lack of custom roms to necessitate a custom recovery. I'm unsure how compatible this particular project would be with our tablet though. Any chance you could test, as you have a custom recovery installed? Or has anyone else found a rom which might be easy to port?

[Q] Help for another Android chinese phone
Hi all. I've bought on Ebay a new Chinese Android 4.2 smartphone, it is identified as Alps X416 (I know that Alps it's a generic identification for something unknown/generic, not a real company...). It's a strange but powerful phone (I choose it because it's cheap and Android 4.2): it has no SD internal card, but it can use a MicroSD as internal SD, so the space for app is really high...if link2sd could work at all, but it is not. System appear S-ON, so apps are not really moved to SD, and system memory is very low, so I'm limited in using it and system became slow. I Had no problem to root it and to install last busybox, but it's quite impossible to use ext2/3/4 filesystems for MicroSD, the original ROM doesn't support them. I was searching for original ROM (as a backup), but specially a modified ROM (cyano seems not still supporting it, so I don't know what to choose for my phone). Faster Android Mobile Getting suitable ROMs for china android mobiles are little bit difficult. If you flashed unsupported rom, your mobile will get bricked. Till you flash custom rom, make your device fine. First you may root your device. For rooting china android mobiles first of all download Moboginie or pdanet on your pc, connect your device to pc it will install drivers automatically for your device. Then download and install "VRoot" latest version on pc, connect mobile, vroot will find your device. Click on root, after 5 to 10 seconds your mobile will be rooted. Now download Minitool Partion Wizard for partition your sd you may search thread for partition sd. Create fat32 partition around 1gb. This will be your ext2 partition on sd card. Now download and install Link2sd on your mobile. Run Link2sd if 2nd partition will not detected by link2sd. Install and Open Root Explorer, go to system/etc/install-recovery.sh, if there is no such file then create it. In install-recovery.sh file type this lines. #!/system/bin/sh #added by link2sd LOG=/data/link2sd-install-recovery.log echo "$(date) mounting..." > $LOG mount -t vfat -o rw /dev/block/vold/179:2 /data/sdext2 1>>$LOG 2>>$LOG mount -t vfat -o rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /data/sdext2 1>>$LOG 2>>$LOG mount >> $LOG echo "$(date) mount finished" >> $LOG echo "$(date) mount finished" >> $LOG For more details go here for solution. Now your mobile got sufficient internal storage. Now download Ram Expander and install, set swap file size as you wish and run swap, now you will get more ram on your device. Enjoy faster android device.
[Completed] Need help optimising smart TV running android OS?
Hi I have a JVC LT32N630S Smart Android TV. Its a budget smart TV and it runs slow. There are apps on it that I don't use like Skype, Twitter and Facebook. I would like to disable them(to free up ram) but the settings app does have this feature (although it is android 4.0.4). I want to use YouTube but doesn't seem to load videos and sometimes doesn't start( I am connected to an ADSL line via WiFi ). So I would like to know what I can do to optimize its performance and get to properly use YouTube app (preferably a no root option but root options welcome if someone can help with rooting the device). I'm interested in learning more about android customization and development. I've used 'Spec Device' app to get these specification details General Specifications Manufacturer: MStar Semiconductor, Inc.
