OK, so when you relocked your bootloader, this problem started, right?
did you flash a custom kernel before relocking your bootloader? if yes, then that's what we call "hard brick" for devices.
alright, here's what you have to do:
1) Don't panic, panicking makes things worse
2) flash stock kernel using flashtool (you don't have to re-flash the whole firmware) and you're done!
your phone will get back to life when you flash stock kernel :good:
hope this helps

Hangs at bootloader or reboots to recovery

I rooted my phone yesterday and installed a rom.
I followed all steps clearly but once i flashed the rom and i restart, it hangs at htc logo screen for 1 minute and then reboots and shows htc logo screen again and goes directly to recovery. I am unable to see any rom interface. I tried two different roms and same result. Now tried to restore back to my sense ui and still it does not work. Help please
A wild guess: you used HTCDev unlock method and didn't flash kernel manually, even though it's written in zillion places to do so.

Good that you learned how do do it yourself..
Sent from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!
I got that problem here, and it doesn't help flashing the boot.img manually.
Restore stock ROM using RUU (and use misc_version script to downgrade the main version first). If you unlocked using HTCDev, you'll need to relock first. Read the guides, they're aplenty.
If it won't help or will write Fail-PU during restore - your phone is done.

[Q] Flashing Real ics v6 to Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman

Hello!
I want to flash Real ics 6 to my lww with locked bootloader but can't! I mean, i tried like three times following the instructions step-to-step but I would always get stuck at the first boot( black screen). Do you know a way to flash it with unlocked bootloader and worked for you?
Would it be better to unlock the bootloader and install a kernel? But how do I do that? Fastboot? Flashtools? The only instructions on kernels is
1. flash via fastboot
and nothing else...
And, yes, you guesed it! I am a noobie! But how do I get to be a pro if I don't become a noobie first?
Thank you for your answers!

As I know Real ICS wants custom kernal. It is impossible to flash custom kernel with locked bootloader. So 1st you have to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom kernal.

did you follow the steps for locked bootloader in the Real ICS r6 Aroma installer? If not, with the steps to reproduce the problem u r facing, drop a direct message to Kobzaar (developer of Real ics). He will revert with the solution for sure

You don't need to flash a kernel, it is recomend for those who have the bootloader unlock, you just follow the steps in the post of the RealICS6 for the locked bootloaders.
every think work on this ROM?
1.Factory reset in cwm
2.wipe cache partition
3.wipe dalvik cache
4.Format /system (in mounts and storage)
5.Format /cache
6.Format /Data
Try this and if it doesn't work then i think it's only for unlocked bootloader mate...
I am also having the same problem. I tried a few times already & followed all the instructions. I have an unlocked bootloader, but I can't recall whether I am on a custom kernel right now (last remember flashing the cm9). Is that the problem? If so, what do I do? Flash a kernel using flashtool & then follow the steps? & which custom kernel do I flash? Can someone give me a suggestion?

[XJ]Hard Brick & Flashtool not working

Hi! Yesterday I tried to restore my Xperia J to .31 fw from Seraphic Season 7 because I got some problem with this ROM...
When I tried to restore, flashtool has stalled at "Flashing loader.sin finished" and no longer went on for half an hour so I unplugged the device and tried to turn it on but remained in bootloop... What can I do to restore my device? Can I unbrick it? :crying:

Yes... Flashtool wiped data and cache...
Had this same problems when I tried to go from a cyanogenmod rom to a newer custom rom. I've bricked it 5 or six times over the last few days trying to get CWM that works permanently like the one I had before 1st brick.
To unbrick mine I found I hadn't got the latest Flashtool [ver 0.9.18.4] this has BLU written beside the flash sign.
Plugged phone whilst in off state whilst holding down vol button for Flash mode
Hit BLU then I locked bootload then flashed ST26i_11.0.A.3.28_WE.ftf
the last time after locked bootload I used PC companion which gave me a Jelly Bean update.
But now I stuck as I can't find a permanent CWM.
This worked because I had ST26i_11.0.A.3.28_WE.ftf in my SD card. But it would seem from what I've encountered some ROMs ,kernals and other stuff people post don't like mixing together and having bootload locked you might be able to flash .ftf files or use PC companion to get phone back into a working state.

I have bootloader unlocked and .31 firmware (with Seraphic Season 7) on my phone... So I have to relock bootloader and then flash again the .31 firmware?

That is what worked for me. Once it needed doing twice [can't remember if it was the relock or the firmware flash] it came up with error message first time but second attempt it worked. Good idea to have the plastic back off phone for dropping out the battery if you get into a loop.
Once locked Sony PC Companion sees phone as well but will probably give you Jelly Bean software. [tick box repair phone]

[Q] TA Restore got a bit scary. Future Advice?

Hi Guys,
So I managed to get my Z3 - D6603 to a state that I wanted: Lollipop, root and working Xposed. Only thing left to do was restore TA (Relock bootloader) so that I had all DRM functionality back - Perfect Device would result. I used Devshaft's tool to restore the backup I had taken before unlock of BL.
The fun started after the tool finished the restore and reboot the device, or rather, tried to reboot the device. The device was practically dead with only red LED visible with USB connected or a short vibrate when power button pressed. Nothing else (Very scary). Eventually managed to get the device to flash with flashtool in flashmode, no wipe. Device booted fine and on inspection I see the bootloader is infact relocked.
My question now is, what caused the 'Brick'? I would like to obtain root again by unlocking bootloader again, flashing Androplus and SuperSU, restore TA and relock. This time without getting the fright of my life thinking I had bricked my new and very expensive device. Any tips? Don't really want to data wipe again to go the PFCreator route.
Ch33rz,
Custom kernel and locked BL
Hey !
Relock bootloader (result of TA restore) with a custom kernel (Androplus,...) will soft brick the device. You can't boot a device with a locked bootloader and a custom kernel.
Don't panic, you can't hardbrick your device (but if you unplug your device during TA restore, you will brick it) !

Thanks for the reply, man.
Okay, that makes sense. However, when I did the restore I had this "Stock" kernel flashed and not Androplus. Is this still not an acceptable kernel? What criteria does the kernel need to fulfil to allow a successful restore without a soft brick?

No, that kernel has been modified so it is not stock
When on a locked bootloader you need the completely stock kernel, if it has been decompiled and recomiled (even with no changes) your phone will not boot on it.
Flash a FTF file or force a repair using PCComapnion to fix it

The fact is we do not know Sony keys, without them a locked bootloader will only boot a stock kernel

In hindsight that was a silly question. Appreciate your patience.
Still getting accustomed to modifying a Sony. Initially quite different to other Androids I've modded - mostly Samsungs.

Any kernel at all?

I've been on the lookout for a kernel for the ST21i for a while now. All I want is a kernel that lets me overclock it as the stock kernel doesn't. I have stock ICS (build 11.0.A.4.22) and unlocked bootloader (I think) and root. I haven't flashed the Enigma or Vengeance ones because they replace the custom recovery so if anything goes wrong, I can't flash the stock kernel back (I do have CWM right now). Or am I wrong, is it possible that I can somehow get the stock kernel backed up onto my computer and flash it if something goes wrong the same way I would flash a custom kernel?
Thanks to anyone who replies

Ok, first of all try to confirm that your bootloader is unlocked (the last thing you want is a hard bricked device)
-Of course, vengeance and enigma kernels are going to replace the custom recovery, because they have cmw built-in, so if anything goes wrong (even if you formatted the /system partition) you will be able to boot to recovery
so here's the thing: if your bootloader is unlocked, then go for it :good: just make sure you have flashtool installed on your computer and the firmware "ftf" file just in case (you know, if you got it hard bricked)
and try installing custom ICS ROMs, they perform better than CM based ROMs.
take care!

Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer!
1) Do you know of any way to find out if the bootloader is unlocked? When I "unlocked" it I got some conflicting messages, but when I reran the bootloader unlock script again it said my bootloader was already unlocked, so ... we'll see.
2) Now I need flashtool for Xperia then, as well as the stock ftf file.
3) Wait, what do I need a different ROM for? I'm happy with the stock Xperia ROM, all I want is to overclock. To my knowledge the ROM shouldn't affect the tweakability of the kernel, right?

1)If the bootloader script said that your bootloader is unlocked, then you're good to go
2)flashtool is available for download from the official site, just ggogle it
here's xperia tipo ftf file https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2TyPtpp6xXkTWZoMU4yV1NRb1U/edit
3)The custom ROM was just a suggestion, you don't have to change your ROM If you are comfortable with it, to be happy is the most important thing
and yes, the ROM doesn't change the kernel abilities (tweaks, etc...)
Hope this helps :good:

I downloaded the latest version and it detected my Xperia tipo dual (had to map it as xperia tipo ss, but you don't have to map your since you have tipo ss, it will be detected automatically)
download and test it, if anything goes wrong, PM me so I can provide you with a link for an older version that worked for me, will be sent to you via PM :good:
Right ho, another annoying question then.
We know that the official Flashtool works then, but I have seen a lot of Xperia hackers use Androxyde's Flashtool, at http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Does it matter which one I use?
