Huawei Ascend Mate, Boot Looping, I Think... - General Questions and Answers

So a couple of days ago I dropped my phone (Huawei Ascend Mate (MT1-U06)) ... no harm done, I've dropped my phone plenty of times and it was fine but this time it turned off. Originally I though I broke it, I go to turn it on and it just keep restarting, turns out it's 'Boot Looping'.... I think. I've searched online and I was told to hold down all 3 buttons and enter go recovery mode and put SD card in with some software. Not really sure what the software is, but I bought an SD card and an SD card reader and I'm ready to fix the device!
Just to see what would happen, I went into Recovery mode and it said this:
USB Update Enter...
HUAWEI SDCARD&USB UPDATE AGENT VERSION 2.0
This phone is secureboot phone.
This phone is LOCK state.
Any help?
(BTW I'm a new user to this sight, so go easy on me)

[Q] Stuck in Airplane Mod

Hey guys, today I installed a new game and started it and came to the screen where you download game files and got "No Wi-Fi Connection"
Then I pressed the home button but my phone froze so after waiting some minutes I took out the battery and booted it.
Since then its in the Airplane Mode and nothing will turn it off..
I wiped dalvik, data, even flashed a new ROM but NOTHING.
Then I took the SIM from a different phone and the airplane mode was turned off and everything worked.
So what you guys think the problem is ?
I mean a game cant mess up my SIM Card right ?
It's possible that the game messed up a setting on the phone that lead to a SIM card defect.
Tried the SIM card in another phone?
a) If it's working, try reinserting into your phone and booting again. Sometimes it's just the swapping fixing your SIM again (registering to a new phone with the carrier)
b) If it's not working, I'd exchange the SIM.
a2) In case a) didn't fix it: factory reset, battery pull for 30mins, in case those two fail as well --> b).
Nothing worked :/
I guess I got to change it

[Q] Pioneer R1 Tablet not rooted and wont load past the animated logo

Hello,
My Pioneer R1 tablet the other night decided to do an automatic upgrade when booting up and hung for hours on 14 of 18 files updated. I rebooted the tablet for it to get to the home screen but come up with the error android phone services not initinalized and then froze. so rebooted and it got to the animated pioneer logo and just sits there never loading fully. Pioneer customer support sucks with helping and the tablet has a reset button on the back in a pin hole. I pressed that the tablet turns off. The tablet still stuck on animated logo. The tablet was running stock jellybean 4.2. The Pioneer people didnt want to do any troubleshooting. told me to send it to them to fix and that if they found anything wrong other than hardware issue i am liable for the charges on to of the shipping cost. I dont have money to just hand out to people who dont have a system setup for troubleshooting. Sorry for a long story but my question is is there anyone who can help me fix this issue.
Unfortunately I'm stuck with the same issue, tablet was running slow so I rebooted it, got hit with their "system breaking update"
Spent a better part of the day trying to find a way to reboot it into recovery mode and wipe user data/reinstall but so far no luck.
Fired off a email to support, tried calling but the wait time was 54mins last time I called.
Also there is a automated announcement while waiting for call time informing everyone that they "are aware of a problem with the tablet"
If I manage to get it into recovery and fix this I will let you know how
so after further testing :
holding reset for 30 seconds: fail
holding power for 10 seconds: fail
holding power for 1 min: fail
holding reset and then power:fail
power then reset:fail
opening case to disconnect battery; FAIL soldered to the board/battery wtf ?
pinhole on bottom of case between usb and power port doesnt sync up with a reboot option

ok well this was an counterproductive day
called Cs @ 1-800-421-1404
waited 45mins on a "20min" wait
talked to someone who informed me this was the wrong number to call for help with the tablet
called Cs @ 1-888-999-0987
"we are experiencing a high call volume at this time, leave your name # and model number and we will return your call before the end of the business day"
waited until 3pm and called again finally got to talk to someone and it was horrible
I was initially told to press the reset button on the back, when I informed them that was not the issue. I was told to email [email protected] and detail my problem, after around 10mins of this, I was put on hold where 3 different ppl picked up and re-asked my problem. Finally when I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told he wasn't there.
When I explained that this is not uncommon in tablet from time to time, ppl forget what they used as a lock code, or one of their children played with it and put a passcode on the device. I was informed that they cant give me any further information because pioneer hired them to field tech support questions and they aren't part of pioneer. The whole reason they cant just tell me how to boot the device into recovery is they dont know, you see pioneer failed to give them that crucial piece of information.
supervisor is supposed to be calling me back tomorrow so lets see what kind of bs this is.
more then likely I will be de-soldering the battery leads from the board to force it into recovery tomorrow afternoon/
only thing I've found out so far thru trial and error is :
power on ,hold power till first logo, press reset and hold. 3-5 seconds later screen flashes white once (either turning on or off)
tablet off, insert usb connected to pc, rapidly tap power and it will stay on the charging screen , pc then recognizes device as libusb-win32 device "Worldcup device"
still no recovery mode
ESI is actually responsible for the tablet as pioneer leased out their logo for the tablet.
This is why there is a ridiculous run around trying to get help from pioneer's cs reps,ESI got my problem sorted.
look for a stock rom dump soon.
so what files would be needed exactly....
so far I have :
aml_logo.img
boot.img
bootloader.img
cache.ext4.tar
data.ext4.tar
logo.img
recovery.img
and still have to copy over system.ext4.tar
packaged rom file!
ok so after following this thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195858
I ended up with this Pioneer r1 stock rom , anyone who has a stuck pioneer want to try ?

I've been doing some searching myself, since I've got a soft-bricked R1 (Father-in-Law didn't want it any more), and from the looks of it, reflashing AML8726-based tablets is done via a rescue-SD card, or using a manufacturer produced USB burning tool:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/41478-how-to-unbrick-your-amlogic-aml8726-mx-series-tablet-v20/
So it appears that the tools are out there, but I haven't had any luck finding the device-specific files that will help.
I don't suppose you manged to find a way to contact ESI's technicians without going through the support number?
There is a recovery mode i unbricked mine just a few day ago need help finishing it it's very unstable
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Free mobile app
Could sort of get mine to boot...
My r1 crashed while watching a video and when I tried to restart it was stuck on this pioneer loading screen. I noticed if i let the battery run all the way out I could then get it to load up... but was greeted with dozens of error messages. This program has stopped this program has stopped. Every two seconds another error so trying to get on to google play for a scandisk app was pointless. I chose to restart and... back to Pioneer loading screen :/
Anyone ever locate a stock recovery flash for this tablet? TBT-7R1-P can be flashed via adb and ImageBurnTool. I have 2 tablets that 1, I do have CWM installed but need to connect a mouse to navigate (using a usb mouse plugged inthru an OTC cable) and nothing to restore since I'd wiped it.

[Completed] Huawei G615 (U9508) softbricked or battery problem – How to flash?

Hi!
I desperately address you today to ask you for help with my Huawei G615 (U9508; 1GB Version so it’s not Honor2/U9508B, but shouldn’t make a difference).
Problems:
- Phone won’t turn on (seems to be a bootloop).
- Phone won’t charge.
- Can’t find many of the needed files for flashing. So I need working mirrors or would appreciate uploads.
History:
Early 2013: Bought, standard Android 4.0.4 version, rooted by myself.
April 2015: Updated/Flashed to official (?) 4.2.2 with EmotionUI 1.6, rooted afterwards. Since then (not sure, maybe it’s unrelated to the update), I had multiple, annoying error messages when Wi-Fi got (re-)connected, but ignored it for months for not finding a solution.
Indeterminate timespan: State of battery charged wasn’t shown correctly, phone shut off too early. Used app “Battery Recalibrator” to fix this, needed some attempts but finally worked.
16th Feb. 2017 (Day X): Accidentally dropped phone (1-meter drop height, good TPU/silicon phone case cushioned it; no visible damage to phone or battery, no software-crash). Phone continued to work normally. Charged it to 100% before sleeping.
X+1: Phone was 99% after waking up, then suddenly 12%, shut down on 10%. Showed 0% afterwards, plugging it in to charge didn’t help. Despite charging it says 0%, powering on (only possible when charger plugged in) leads to bootloop (Huawei Logo, Android Logo, Huawei Logo (because it restarts)). Decided to put the phone on the cool window board over night without charging it.
X+2: Tried again to turn it on, after many attempts it magically turned on. Worked for the whole day, I still tried to flash the phone to get rid of my other Wi-Fi error log problem (and to prevent other possible problems by doing a fresh new start), didn’t seem to work. Charged it to 100%.
X+3 (today): Phone was already powered off when I woke up. Still can’t turn it on.
What I also tried continually:
- Tried charging with different power adapters or directly from USB. Still 0%.
- Tried wiping cache, wiping/factory reset.
- Flashing it to official 4.0.4. and 4.2.2., seemed not to work because it was over after some seconds, but the SDROOT/dload folder is ~1GB (although it said it worked, see spoiler).
Spoiler
When in recovery and choosing “apply update from external storage”, and then “dload” it says it failed to mount /sdcard (E:; “no such file or directory”).
Then error to open /sdcard/dload (“no such file or directory”)
Then
“Install from SD card complete.
cust copying files.
copy cust files succeeded.”
But as I said, that's possibly not true that 1GB gets copied in some seconds.
Status now (as I remember from Day X+2 when it worked):
- 4.2.2
- EmUI 1.6
- Android system recovery <3e>
- USB-debugging should be turned on (not sure) and phone should be rooted (Superuser was still installed after wiping, but it said it needed an update, so it might not fully work).
- Kernel and other software stuff: Can’t remember, can’t turn on the phone. And don’t know what they all mean tbh, I’m glad I know a little about the differences of Android official and custom ROMs and what a recovery is (and that I may need the Chinese recovery for flashing I cannot find online).
Further Details:
I personally don’t think the fall caused my problems because it continued to work for the whole day and the drop was cushioned. What I suspected: It could be an extreme case of the battery charge status problem. The phone thinks the battery is still 0% although it’s not. So it shuts itself off. Or the bootloop is caused by faulty software/ROM, although I didn’t change anything before the problems appeared.
I’ve read through several manuals and now get some sense of the topic, but I still don’t know everything relevant. Also, most of the links to important files are dead.
In addition, a problem I have is that despite reading through lots of threads, they require me to have a working phone, but mine is stuck in a bootloop.
What I want:
A clear, new phone software. Doesn’t matter which Android version or if official or custom ROM. Just want a working phone without the Wi-Fi error, so a fresh new start, a clean flash.
So: How do I do it, and importantly, where can I find the needed files?
(Even though I might buy a new phone next month, I want this one to be fixed so I can gift or sell the phone.)
Software I already have:
HiSuite, HuaWei_USB_Driver.exe, Android SDK, dload-B115 (folder, should be official Android 4.0.4), dload-B703 (folder, should be official Android 4.2.2), cm-10.1-20131006-EternityProject-hwu9508.zip (CyanogenMod 10.1 from Eternity Project); already rescued my data, so I’m ready to wipe.
Software that might be missing:
Chinese recovery, fastboot mod (what for?), CWM (what’s this, what for?), TWRP (what for?).
Many thanks in advance!
EDIT:
As recovery mode (Power + VolumeUp) works and the phone can be on for hours when in this mode (as long as it's plugged in), I assume that it's not the battery but a soft/firmware problem.

Found Mate 9 can I unlock it?

Hello guys, I'll begin by saying that I'm not english so if i make mistakes u have to forgive me. Yesterday, a friend of mine came to me by saying that he "found" a phone, which actually is a Huawei Mate 9 MHA-L29.
Now, he told me that he tried to return the phone to the police but it didn't have any SIM card in it and they just told him to keep it because they couldn't do anything. I was actually searching a good and cheap phone to buy and he told me that he can sell it to me at a nice price if i manage to unlock it, now the problems start. So when i turn it on, it hasn't any wallpaper and it wants the unlock Pin, which obviously is unknown.
Something like this happened to me a month ago with a P8 Lite which i factory resetted even if it had a pin and everything went fine.
With this phone tho, if i go to eRecovery (both buttons and start button) and press "Download lastest version and recovery" it makes me choose a wifi and then gives me "getting package info failed".
If i try Vol Down and start button, it takes me to the EMUI update i guess (I'm kinda new to these things so please understand my ignorance.) and tells me "System install failed".
Also tried to link it via USB to my PC and tried Recovery from HiSuite but i guess since the device is in "only charge" and i don't have the pin to change that, it doesn't work either.
Do you guys think is it possible to unlock it someway? I would really appreciate your help.
It could be the original owner who had lost the phone had contacted Huawei and had them disable phone, (making it useless).
debugging seems to be not enabled
password isn’t known
pin isn’t known
factory reset without removing pin/password before will not be successful!!!
as i know, this phone is fully useless for you.
BTW: bad for you, but good for all the people which have lost her phone.
If you would have the original box and bill, the HUAWEI service center can help.
Without this, you will get no help!
and at last...
How often do you think, people have "lost" her phone without sim card installed into it? Not often i think!!!
If it has the original software and recovery on it, chances are that FRP lock is still enabled so unfortunately, it's worth nothing. Maybe you guys can post it on some public ad sites and the owner will be found and give a reward.

Any chances of data recovery? (Galaxy S7)

Hi guys, I'm new to the community here.
I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930W8) for the past four years that I bought second hand. It had this issue where it would get stuck and force reboot while playing videos. I tried looking up the issue, but there seemed to be no one else having this issue so in the moment I just kind of gave up and learned to live with it. However, for the past week or so, the problem got really bad. It had started freezing up while doing even regular stuff like browsing the settings app or tapping on a notification. If I left it, it would either force restart itself, or I'd do it myself by pressing Volume Down + Power Button.
I had planned on making a backup on Sunday Night, but just my luck, the phone just sorta gave up and died in the evening. It crashed during a video call, and it just kept rebooting, getting stuck on lock screen, and rebooting again. It did this a few times before going completely unresponsive. No power button, no Power + Volume up + Home, no Power + Volume Down, nothing would work. After a few hours, I tried connecting it to my Laptop, and at first it wouldn't even respond there, so I left it.
In the morning, I tried plugging it in to the laptop one last time and lo and behold, as soon as I connect, the Samsung Galaxy S7 logo shows up. However, the phone keeps going to "Installing System Update" Screen, end up at "No Command", and shutting down. The only thing I can do at this point is take it into download mode, and exit download mode. Nothing else seems to be working.
I got most of the data off of my SD Card, but when I took it to the local electronics store, they told me the only thing they could do was Flash the software and reset the whole thing, and even that was not a guarantee that it would turn back on, and that my data would be lost. They said if I wanted to access my data, I'd have to go to a professional data recovery service and pay several hundred euros.
I've been doing some research online and it seems that it is very much possible to flash new firmware onto the device without deleting all the data on it. I just need the phone to turn on once to the point where I can unlock the screen so I can copy the data off of it. Does anyone know if this would be possible, or if trying to flash it would work? I'd really appreciate any guidance and help. As a student, I cannot afford to drop 5-600 euros on data recovery on top of buying a new phone. If there's any way to access and copy the data into a PC without turning on the phone, that would work absolutely fine as well. Like I said, I do not need the phone anymore, but I would really really like to be able to get the data still on it.

Hi booyakiller01, phone is recognized when connected to PC in Download mode ?
OP, sorry to hear that.
Data loss it something that happens to everyone, eventually.
Use the SD card as your data drive; put or backup all critical data here except for the Downloads folder (to create a security buffer).
Use ApkExport to backup up all your loaded apps and updates for a faster reload.
Backup any apps that allow it as well.

Hi @djibe89
The PC recognizes that there is a device connected but is unable to access the data or anything on the device. I tried flashing a new ROM, but I think I didn't have USB debugging enabled before it crashed, which is why that didn't work.

The future. Now you know why I always have a SD card slot ie data drive.
Even adding a data drive to my Dell e6400.
They have saved me a lot of time and trouble more than once.
Hopefully someone here will figure out a way to help you recover your data
Hi @booyakiller01, by download mode I mean, what happens when you power on phone by holding Home + Power + Volume- and release buttons when screen is on ?

Yeah play with it.
My 10+ got into a boot loop twice by a badly coded launcher. When around in circle a couple times but finally got it to load in safe mode. Recovered some stuff and reloaded.
You may be able to get it to boot into safe mode...

if its stuck on DL mode you can reflash the FW in Odin using the HOME_CSC which wont wipe your data. If it still refuses to boot and debugging isnt on, then its beyond my knowledge level of how to approach. also, sd to usb readers are stupid cheap
