Kyocera Hydro XTRM USCC-C6721
The viruses are manifested as system apps and cannot be deleted/uninstalled. I have wiped the phone in recovery mode, factory reset it, removed the sim card, tried rooting it in various ways... At this point I have to make myself give up and ask for help before I go nuts!
Framaroot finally started reporting success, but I've tried 5 or 6 different versions at least twice each (all attempts and different versions successful), but upon rebooting/restarting, the phone is not actually rooted. It's not rooted before restart, either (root checker). Other options have failed (kingoroot, Cydia Impactor, etc).
I've read a million forum threads and websites, tried for hours and hours, but I'm still not getting anywhere.... I have seen mention of flashing/roms/scripts but I don't know anything about that and need better instructions. Please help!

How can I bring my Droid X2 from Verizon back to how it was when I got it from the store??
I rooted my phone using MotorolaOneClickRoot.exe "pete's motorolla tools"
I removed bookmarks and I removed two or three verizon stock apk like Blockbuster and Slacker. Also allowed super user permission for apps like barnicle wifi tether and a screenshot program. I have done nothing else.
I recently got the request to upgrade to 1.3.380.MB870.Verizon.en.US but I can not upgrade.
Attempt #1
I factory reset the hard way. Hold power plus volume down... The phone boots back up and I still have Superuser icon showing but everything else is different. I realized at that time I would have to unroot but I could not remember which program I used to root my phone.
Attempt #2
I ended up installing gingerbreak and used the unroot uption on that program to unroot my phone. It said successful. I tried to install the update and it failed. I factory reset the phone and it failed. IDK why but I attempted to root the phone again using gingerbreak after that... but gingerbreak would not root my phone again, it just sat there doing nothing for an hour and 30 minutes.
Attempt #2
I searched more and found the program I originally used. I loaded it up and clicked the unroot option. It unrooted my phone sucessfully. I attempted to upgrade and it failed again!
Attempt #3
I ran the temporary root that came with MotorolaOneClickRoot.exe . Thinking maybe gingerbreak messed up some files and I needed to restore them for the unroot to work properly. The temporary root was not what I had used the first time so I'm thinking maybe I should have done the permanant root... I then unrooted the phone again. After that, I factory reset again and attempted to upgrade the phone. Still fails.
I havn't removed or modified any sytem folders. I simply deleted bookmarks and Blockbuster and other useless stock apps. I've unrooted and factory reset but blockbuster and the stock applications never come back...
I can't upgrade my phone and I need some help. I can't remember what came with the phone by default so IDK how to manually set it back. Please, how can I resolve this? How can I bring my phone back to how it was when I got it from the store??
I want that ugrade.
Notherwise fully aware if we have a forum for your device but if we do....head in over to that place and look fir the "stock ROM" for your device.
First thing is first....you need ti remove root...not familiar with device so don't know is stock Rom will restore root.
Another option is to go to the first thread on this forum and ask Samuel.....he might be able to help.
Cheers and good luck mate
I don't want to restore the root. Honestly I never really used the super user features for anything other than screenshots.
I have no roms or anything. This is just 2.3.3 with the root enabled. I did lurk around and find a link to VRZ_MB870_DTN-14.8.sbf but I'm not sure if that is what I need to do? Will an SBF restore my phone and applications so I can upgrade again?
Update to my previous post. I searched around like I should have in the first place.
I used RSDLite 5.3 to flash my phone to VRZ_MB870_DTN-14.8.sbf. Which was android 2.2.2
I was then able to update the phone to version 2.3.3 and then finally 2.3.4 official OSA over wifi.
Hello, I just bought the skyrocket a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to go back to Cyanogen in this phone. I previously had a Motorola Backflip and rooted it just fine. With this phone, I have been having issues. ADB gives permission denied, the one-click root .bats say all the files are read-only when it tries to move them to my sd card. Any ideas? I have been looking around this forum and others for a day or so now and have tried everything I've seen. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled SDK and USB drivers, tried several different rooting methods, but it seems to all come back to ADB permissions. Does updating to 2.3.6 cause this issue? Store guy automatically started the update for me as soon as I got the phone. :X
I have tried to UNROOT my Verizon Note 3 (SM-N900V) 4.3/MJE using Kingo, but Kingo shows that I am NOT rooted and doesn’t provide the “Unroot” option as it should. I used Kingo to root my phone, and I haven’t installed any custom ROMs or recoveries other than upgrading to SuperSU Pro and installing Xposed Installer.
I’ve watched dozens of videos on unrooting, but little without Kingo. Unfortunately at the end of these videos, they all show that the Knox warranty being voided (0 x 1) and some can’t remove the Custom Padlock screen. Just wondering if anyone has successfully unrooted and not having the Custom Padlock screen or Knox tripped.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, sorry if I didn’t post this right as this is my very first post or thread.
Easy Solution to Kingo Unrooting Found
I contacted Kingo about a week ago and gave them a decent donation along with my question. Unfortunately I never got any response back whatsoever. I’m thinking that they are really busy. So, I went ahead and took the leap and did the work successfully myself.
1. I uninstalled Xposed Installer through its own uninstaller. Then I removed it along with Titanium Backup, and the Pro version through CleanMaster with no problems.
2. I was able to uninstall SuperSU through it’s own “Uninstall” feature, then rebooted.
3. The first thing I noticed was the “Custom” and Padlock logo still on my screen at bootup, but the great thing was that I booted up without any problems.
4. I had discovered that the SuperSu Pro apk was still present through the phone’s Application Manager and was able to uninstall it from there.
5. Finally and fearfully, I rebooted one more time.
Everything booted normally again, and this time, the “Custom” logo and padlock were finally gone! I checked the Knox counter and both flags showed 0 x 0. Kingo had a problem with their servers in early February and I tried to root about 15 times over a period of about ten days or so. Suddenly one evening, I was able to successfully root within 3 or 4 minutes, and it really was a one click ordeal. Just be aware that you may not be able to unroot with their program. Don’t fear. Unrooting manually the way I did reveals absolutely no traces of a previous root or that the phone had been tampered with. I’m not sure that anyone who has flashed a custom ROM or recovery would have the same results though, so proceed with caution.
Before stating my problem I have already serched in other xda Posts but all that I was able to do it to identity my problem and know that my Phone is one of a kind
SO
after trying to install a rom on my device and after failing every time getting error 7 with twrp I tried deleting the device id check in the update-script but after doing that the rom still would not install.
After deleting everything on my phone (yes I deleted the system too) I tried installing the stock firmware from the official website but still no luck and in the update-script in th stock rom was too complicated
SO
i tried installing my rom by sideload but whenever I enter that my device would disapper
I have read different posts watched different videos tried different methods but nothing. The phone is old and if this will not work I will probably throw it from the windows but at this point, since I have been trying for almost 2 weeks, is basically a battle between me and my phone wich it seems I can't win
Thanks!!
Good morning. This is my first time posting here.
My father gave me his J7 Perx (for Boost) because he accidentally ran it over and whatever reason factory reset (phone still works). I have been trying with no luck to root this stupid phone because I am trying to recover photos that we need in an upcoming lawsuit. Evidently only way to do so is to root the phone to gain access to internal storage. I can't afford to pay someone to do this - which is why I am doing it myself.
I haven't rooted in years but over the past week I've literally spent hours combing this website - reading almost every thread I can find. I've flashed the stock 8.1 rom more times than I can count because no matter what I do the phone either wind's up not rooted or stuck as the "Samsung J7 Perx Warranty Set Kernel" screen.
My latest attempt was installing TWRP; wiping and formatting data; installling MAGISK through the SD Card and rebooting. This doesn't work. MAGISK is not installed; Root is not obtained and I am back at square one. I also found another thread that included a .tar file for the J7 which was supposed to have Super SU. I flash through ODIN and nothing works. This winds up making the phone not even boot up (stuck on the Samsung J7 screen). I think at one point I even tried a combination of: flashing stock 8.1 ROM; Installing TWRP; immediately erasing and formatting data; installing MAGISK; booting back into download; flashing that .tar file - and then I get stuck at no boot and wind up re-flashing stock.
I don't remember ever having this much trouble rooting a device and frankly, all I need to do is try and recover photos. What am I doing wrong? Why won't this MAGISK program install? Can someone give me a hand? I've combed through all those threads but can't seem to get a clear cut answer (wife is now getting angry at me for not paying attention to her this week).

I'm ready drive over the phone a second time. I can't feasibly understand why this won't root.
