phone redated most picture on sdcard - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got a really strange issue:
somehow my phone changed the date of my taken pictures and whatsapp pictures saved on the SDcard. I dont know why or how that happened.
See the picture below/attached.

}
What is the best way to correct the dates? It would take a lot of time to change every single picture since there are around 150 pictures to be changed individually.
Is this maybe a mistake of the media cache??

I found out that you have to modify the pictures on your phone with an app.
I tried to copy the files to my computer, correct them and copy back to te phone. But once you copy the files to your phone the last modified date changes to todays date.

yes, this is beacuse of the MTP protocol (Media transfer). This is really annoying! It is impossible to copy files from computer to the phone and keep the date as far as I know.

Gallery Empty ".nomedia"

This is the first time this has happened to me and I figured I would share with XDA. Last night I was attempting to take a photo on my device outside in the dark. My battery on my device was only at 6%. When my battery gets low, my flash wont work on my phone. I thought I would be smart and turn torch on then go into camera and take my photo... Well needless to say, my phone power-cycled on. When my phone came back up, I went to my gallery to view the photo I took because it did snap. Well, all my photos were gone. Missing in Action.
Apparently when my phone power-cycled it dropped a file on my SD card called ".nomedia" This file was blocking my camera and my gallery from seeing photos on my SD card. What a shame. All I had to do was delete the.nomedia file. See image below to what it looks like.
*Edit*
After deleting this file and un-mounting my SD Card and re-mounting it, I could see the images in my gallery.
Cheers

After you deleted that file you were able to see the pics again?
Sent from a dream.

To install you need to be rooted, just copy mms.apk into system/app on root of phone, youll have to overwrite the original obviously, probably wise to make a copy if you want to go back. Once copied change permission to rw-r--r-- then reboot your phone and it will be changed with new smileys, apk is attached to post.
Nice, Screenshot in OP showing new smileys would be better
Edit- check post #4.
I have put a screenshot, can you not see it?

Something keeps making files in Download folder

I don't know what it is but something keeps making files called: AT0000X-X. And the X is a ascending number (see screenshot). It keeps making them!

I have already deleted them but when I checked back 10 minutes later they came back.
Is there an app/program to see which app is making these files? Or does somebody knows what the problem is?
I'm running the latest CarbonROM on Nexus 5
Thanks in advance
ATT stands for attachment. Its the same attachment over and over again. The -x signifies it is a copy of the same file. If you download image.jpg then you download image.jpg again, it becomes image-1.jpg etc.
Since it is ATT, an e-mail client sounds most likely. I take it you've done a full reboot?

I don't like Google drive. I use mega. Never had any issues. But then again I'm firmly against Google having so much control over my device.
When you delete it goes to trash. Look carefully and locate it. Empty it
Yep, it's probably in trash and needs to be emptied. But this will be done automatically after one or two months, nonetheless.
Also, if you deleted really many files, it can take quite some time till all of them show up in trash.
maybe google drive's cache ,try to format cache
