Hello,
I used to use my Nexus 5, with Android 5.0 to stream Music to my Win 8.1 Pc using Bluetooth. I just paired the two devices, my Laptop would open the Windows Media Player and I could stream Music or Audio in general to my Pc. Since then I upgraded my Pc to Windows 10 and my Nexus to Android 6.0, now when I pair the two, my PC regocnizes that the Nexus has an adcanced audio-service, but on my Nexus I can't allow the audio streaming in the Bluetooth settings, also I can't send Files from my Nexus to my Pc, but it works the other way around. In Fact the only service my Nexus allows is the sharing of contacts. Has anybody an idea how I could fix this?
Thank you in advance
i'm having the same problem!!!! it sucks!
Same here.
Android 6.0 stock on a Nexus 5 and a Windows 10 Pro on a XPS 15.

My HD7 can't recognise other phone bluetooth when i try to transfer some vid to my Hd7.Looks like WM7 is the same as Iphone.
Wp7 doesn't support Bluetooth file transfer
Sent from my Focus using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
why on earth htc/wm wants to follow iphone
how bout other model is it the same?
It's WP7, not wm7. Windows Mobile allowed for bluetooth file transfer. Windows Phone does not. It's just not part of the Windows Phone design plan to allow bluetooth file transfer. If that is a deal breaker for you, get another phone with a different OS.
Of course, there are other ways to transfer files besides bluetooth.
For video, though, you can only get video off the phone by connecting to Zune.
With the Mango update coming this fall, you will be able to send video via MMS.
This is just the way the OS works.
Since the storage on Nexus 7 is so low, I was hoping I could store stuff on my Galaxy S3 and stream videos from the cellphone's memory to the Nexus 7.
Is it possible to do this through Bluetooth/Wifi without using the internet and what would be the best apps available to do this?
Thanks.
Since my laptop died I've been using my nexus 7 exclusively, things have been okay but I'm stuck with my iPod I want to add new music and remove some of the old stuff, is there any way to manage my ipod using my nexus 7 without having to store my music library on my nexus as there's too much in terms of file size to do so? Any help would be great as if I can sort this my nexus 7 will have done away with my laptop.
There is no iTunes variant for Android of any sort (I've looked for it for quite a while.). As such there is no way to manage your ipod via your Android device.
Also, this is the TF700 board, not the Nexus 7 one.

Okay thanks for clearing it up, and sorry for the post on the wrong board. Shame it can't be managed with something like winamp
I still use itunes to manage my music but I also use doubletwist to sync that itunes library and playlists with my android devices. You basically import the itunes library into doubletwist and then it is able to sync with android. I use it for my android phone and tablets flawlessly.
Hi,
I use ITunes on a Windows laptop together with DoubleTwist. Both computers and smartphone are on the same WIFI network and can see and pair each other.
My software versions are:
Itunes 12.0.1.26 (currently latest version available)
DoubleTwist for Windows 4.0.4.19767 (beta)
DoubleTwist for Android 2.5.5 (2e28932)
Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S5
Windows 7 x64
I purchased AirSync to be able to stream music from ITunes (running on my computer) to my smartphone which is hooked to a Bluetooth sound system.
The problem is that when I start syncing my music, it literally copies my library to my smartphone. Having a large library of music (>100GB), copying music locally on the smartphone is not an option. I would like the music to stay on the computer and access the library from my smartphone remotely over WIFI.
The streaming process looks like:
Laptop -> Smartphone -> Bluetooth audio system
Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Christophe
Answer from DoubleTwist:
"Hello,
I'm sorry but at this time, our streaming feature require the songs to be local to the Android device. Our app is not able to act as a bridge between your computer and your sound system. This is a feature that users have requested so we're investigating it for the future roadmap.
Feedback like yours helps us to prioritize our future development plans. I've sent your comments on to our product manager.
Thanks."
Do you know any solution doing what I'm looking for by any chance?
Thanks
Christophe
Hi. I have Nexus Q, Nexus 10 and some more phones that i can in theory use as a chromecast. But i can't find any app, that working as chromecast receiver. On Q and 10 i have cm10 (or can install 11) and when i install cheapcast, my Galaxy Fold 3 and latest chrome on pc can't find it. All i want, is broadcast youtube/just music/video and sound from mobile to some cm10 device.
How can i convert old phone into chromecast?
