My HD7 can't recognise other phone bluetooth when i try to transfer some vid to my Hd7.Looks like WM7 is the same as Iphone.
Wp7 doesn't support Bluetooth file transfer
Sent from my Focus using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
why on earth htc/wm wants to follow iphone
how bout other model is it the same?
It's WP7, not wm7. Windows Mobile allowed for bluetooth file transfer. Windows Phone does not. It's just not part of the Windows Phone design plan to allow bluetooth file transfer. If that is a deal breaker for you, get another phone with a different OS.
Of course, there are other ways to transfer files besides bluetooth.
For video, though, you can only get video off the phone by connecting to Zune.
With the Mango update coming this fall, you will be able to send video via MMS.
This is just the way the OS works.

OK, so I'm currently working on getting this to work on my captivate. Not sure if it will or not, but I am hopeful. I will edit this post with a walk thru if I get it to work. But for now, I will start with two links I found that leads me to think this may be possible.

BTW, if this has been done before and I am just trying to reinvent the wheel, please point me in the right direction. I couldn't find much about this when searching
OK, so not much of a walkthru other than to say it does work.
First you have to put your phone into media player mode which is done in settings\application\usb Settings
Note: the phone does not seem to like to connect to the PC unless you are at the touchWiz homescreen. I had to clear default settings on Launcher Pro to get back to touchWiz for it to get into its media player mode.
Once you do that it should install drivers and show up as a syncable item in Windows Media Player.
After that, if you have a zune pass and have downloaded music with it in the zune software, it will show up in windows media players library.
I was most interested in syncing the zune channels that update once a week, so I moved those playlists to the phone, pressed sync and it worked.
Now if only I could get the zune playlists to show up in something like media monkey where syncing is a bit easier than with windows media player (my opinion of course).
Basically all it shows is that our captivate(and I'd assume all galaxy s varieties) will play DRM'd WMA files that fall in the realm of the windows plays for sure category. Good to know if you use subscription music through zune or have other uses for that.
This doesn't work with i9010. It says more sync rights are needed.
Unfortunate as I was hopeful after it worked with my N8.
Any thoughts for getting this to work on Armani S?

Any way of getting this to work with CM7.
I guess you need to be able to mount using MTP as opposed to USB storage.
Is that doable?
Sent from my Armani S i9010 (CM7)
The links in OP point to the support of PlayForSure type of DRM which maybe supported if you use Windows Media Player to sync in MTP media player mode. However, Zune pass uses Zune DRM, not PlayForSure DRM. Zune DRM will only work on Microsoft Zune players and WP7 phones. Not to be confused with purchased songs in Zune. Purchased songs no longer have DRM in them.
Now CM7 is another story. I not sure if it even supports PlayForSure DRM at all.
Well I have the Nokia N8 and that can play Zune pass content when transferred via MTP.
So I guess the question is can we enable stock Android to mount as an MTP device?

Any app available that can mount AOSP builds as MTP?

i would like to ask if is there any app for use my htc hd 7 as a web cam ?
No i dont think so -.-
It wouldn't have been possible before Mango to do this, but now I believe Camera and port access is available so perhaps an app will be on the way in the following months? It would never be able to run in the background however.
You could send the video stream to the PC from an app on the phone. Getting the PC to recognize the stream as coming from a webcam would require writing a driver, though. This is possible but not trivial.
hope the title can describe what i am trying to figure out....
My current setup is this:
1. My windows machine and mac both have plex installed.
2. I can use my iphone with the plex app to airplay media from my computer straight to my apple tv, i dont need to have anything synced directly to my iphone's internal storage. It just uses the stream from the iPhone and computer
I am getting rid of my iPhone to get an android phone, but i want to keep this capability...
any suggestions?

anything based on ITunes or apple software is a pita to make work on android.
hi, just buy a cheap ipod touch 4g and use that it has the same capabilities and you will then be able to buy a high end android phone without any drawbacks
If you want to stream from android to apple tv there is an app that does so. Check http://9to5mac.com/2011/05/09/android-can-now-airplay-to-ios-devices/ for review.

One thing i really miss from my time spent with iPhone is airplay, used it everyday.
Since jumping on to WP7 i have searched hi & low for a streaming solution and haven`t found one yet.
So my question, is there any video/music streaming option for Mac to WP7 out there?
That might actually be worth developing. Bear in mind that WP7 users who run OS X PCs are going to be an extremely niche market, though. There are two ways that I can see to do it, though:
* Write a WP7 app that acts as a client for a current streaming service on OS X / iTunes. Make sure the stream can be decoded on the phone and that the service recognizes the app, but neither should be too hard (WP7 already recognizes most of Apple's codecs).
* Write a WP7 app that acts as a client to a dedicated media server app. Write that dedicated media server app, for OS X and possibly other platforms. The server would take care of ensuring WP7 compatibility. You'd need Apple dev tools (which is expensive, for somebody who currently owns no Apple hardware) and knowledge of writing good server code, though.
For HTC phones, you can download "Connected Media" from the HTC section of marketplace. Although not the greatest player, it does allow you to play non-DRM music and videos stored in your library (no streaming) to DLNA receivers. I use it to play to my Linksys Extender of my Media Center every once in a while.
@spokanedj: I think the OP is looking for the other direction, streaming files from the PC (Mac, in this case) to the phone. I'm guessing the goal is working around the limited storage on the phone for people with a really big media library.
I enjoy watching tv-shows when laying in bed, so yes im only interested in streaming.
I saw on https://www.emitapp.com/ that wp7 app coming soon.
I used emit on android, it wasnt perfect but i did the job
As in topic - I need to move photos and videos from my old Lumina 800 to Android/Windows 10 phone or PC. Is there any way to do it? I can't use Bluetooth because you need to download special app form marketplace called 'Bluetooth sharing' and as we know marketplace is down for many years so I can't download it. I also can't use Zune because it requires Windows Media Format SDK which can be installed only on XP (I'm using win 10 on both PC already).
