Komoot - Samsung Gear S2

Hi,
did anyone already try Komoot on the S2?
TIA,
Tom

Hmm... obviously nobody tried it yet. It is supposed to be available, but i can't even see it in my gear store.
Here are some images of the app on the gear s2:
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/414823815655832544/
Do you see anything about komoot on your gear s2 store? Maybe i can't see it because i don't use a samsung phone?
TIA,
Tom

Its becouse you dont have a Samsung device. Same here but ioüenedthe store on my galaxy s4 wich i use asmp3 player and there it is. I just connect my watch back to my honor 7 so i cant try.

Oh well... Could anyone extract tbe apk and upload it here? Edit: Don't know if that made sense... Is there a way to extract apps from Gear Store and sideload it to the s2 yet?

There is a new app called filemaster. Sadly i cant install it without a samsung device.
Maybe this solve the ürobs soon

Filesmaster let You upload any file to the smartwatch, but unfortunately as far as I checked You cannot install app with it.
You can try with Debug mode in Settings and using sdb commands over WiFi.

I have borrowed samsung Note 2 from my sister for a while to install a few paid apps. I installed Filesmaster too to manage my media files. I copied
a movie from phone to watch on my S2 in the tube. Very useful app, though expensive - $3. However, this app can manage files, transfer between phone and play.

But as soon you change your phone to non Samsung what happen? In my mind ypu have to reset the watch and all apps are gone...

how to get an how to install..
did anybody find out if the komoot app can be installed on a non Samsung device? in the settings of the g2 is the option to install apps from other sources than Samsung Apps. Does anybody know for to get the komoot file and how to install it on watch?.. I assume there is a way for that.

I contacted the Samsung support how to get all apps also on Non-samsung Devices. I will let you know if they respond.
Michael

Update:
The Samsung support was fast. They say that the app is currently not available and they are working on it. They did not answer if it is available on Samsung Smartphones.
I also just worte the Komoot team if they know more abour that issue.
I will keep you posted.
Michael

So I connected my watch to a Samsung S6 of a friend today and found komoot in the gear store. That sucks. I give up on this topic for now.

Good news everyone!
Komoot wrote, in 1-2 weeks from today the app will be available for all phones. I'm happy now!

Looks like it is still not available for non-Samsung phones

[APP][4.0+] WiFi Direct

So I finally got a Nexus 7 and first thing I wanted to test was the WiFi Direct sharing with my Galaxy Nexus. I was kinda disappointed when I saw that neither the stock Gallery app nor any of my installed file managers offered a WiFi Direct sharing option.
So I took a look at the APIs and made my own WiFi Direct sharing app (after that, I saw that a similiar app is already available here on XDA).
I got it working between my Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7 and I guess it should also work on most other devices (unfortunately, WiFi Direct is really broken on some WiFi drivers).
You can get it from the PlayStore here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.wifidirect
The latest version is attached to this post
Awesome always wanted this so sad don't have another android device but will try this on my Nexus S

only if that computer runs Android and supports wifi direct ^^
How's the testing going for this? I'm shocked more ROM developers don't try to bake this functionality into their releases. My SGSIILTE Skyrocket had Wi-Fi direct baked into the stock Samsung OS, but as soon as you flash to CM10 or something else you lose that function completely and it's no longer in your wireless settings.
I installed your app and will test with my wife's SGSIII tonight.

Thank you so much!!
I own the Nexus 4 and in the playstore I cant download your app (not available in your country -> Germany). Thanks for sharing this, great for exchanging music and videos when hanging out with friends
Not to necro this thread, but we are building an app that does exactly just that. The app is called Drop, and it is a simple, fast, and secure way to share files with people/devices in proximity over WiFi Direct. We are going into a limited Private Beta soon, so if you're up for the challenge, (and running Jelly Bean) then sign up at www.get-drop.com. Seats are limited, and we have a rolling enrollment, so check it out.
Hey,
Why did u take it from the play store.
I really like it. This is what I was looking for. A very simple method to share. No fancy UI or anything. Less then 100KB. Perfect!
Thank you!
I hope u keep maintaining it...:good:
EDIT:
Unfortunately nothing happens from N5 -> N4. I see the toast "sending xyz"... and that's it

Voice Input problem with Gear S2 Classic, Please Help!

Hi. I've recently purchased Gear S2 Classic, updated to the latest firmware and smartphone apps/plugin/service.
I am facing a strange problem with voice recognition. S-Voice App on the watch works 100% perfectly, and can easily recognize and transcript my voice. However, in all other apps, when I try to use voice input (like when I reply to a message), nothing happens! as if I am not even talking. The problem also happens in Voice Memo app on the watch, where I can record my voice but the option to convert my voice to text doesn't work. I checked the audio recording quality on my smartphone and it was fine and clear. The watch's microphone is working alright, but for some reason anything except S Voice App cannot use voice-to-text input.
To recap: The problem is NOT S-Voice. it's voice input (which may rely on S-Voice, I know). But S-Voice app itself on the watch is working just fine all the time. My issue is limited to using voice input (voice-to-text) in other apps.
As for the internet connection. I tried both 4G and WiFi (24Mbps broadband), through Bluetooth and also directly connected the watch to home WiFi.
Any idea? Please Help!

Same here. Worked in the beginning then stopped. Sent an e-mail to Samsung support but no reply yet. Speech-to-text-recognition on the Gear should be independent from S-voice app on phone, no? I had the latter disabled already when speech to text still worked with the Gear.

Tried that already, but that only makes me reconnect everything ... so no improvement by that.
I also contacted Samsung support online and in person, and they told me it's possibly permissions-related (on the watch) and can only be fixed by an upcoming firmware update. However, their final definitive answer is still pending. They promised to contact me within a couple of days.
Hey,
I've recently talked to a Samsung tech and he said that this problem was a general issue with the Gear S2 at the moment (apparently server-related). There is no fix at the moment and they can't do anything. They've forwarded the problem (since it is already known) to the guys in Korea and they have to resolve this issue somehow, either with a software update or some server fix.
He furthermore told me that they don't even get noticed, whenever the Korean guys fix a problem, so I should just keep on trying the feature now and then.
Let's just hope, they won't take long
Update (2016-10-13): Works like a charm now, they seem to have fixed it.

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that Voice Input (STT) on my Gear S2 is now working again. I didn't do anything at all. I guess it was, in fact, a server-side issue that has now been resolved.
Let's know if it is working for you too.
Thanks to everyone for your contribution!
I'm hoping someone has come up with a solution. I've been experiencing this same issue for the past couple of weeks with my Gear S2. I've cleared out the cache history and I've even reverted to factory reset on the watch. Still, nothing. HELP!
I have a same priblem.. but even by cleare the cash nothing happend. It doesn't work yet.
Same here I have tried everything and it is so frustrating! One of the main reasons why I have a smartwatch is to be able to voice reply to messages.
Anybody found a solution yet?

Yes, you can use the wall charger that comes with the S7E. I even use it for headphones & other electronics and is ok. The fast charging function will work only with the devices that have this function. In rest, the charger will be a normal (very good) charger.
What about hangout and whatsapp?
Hi, I couldn't find anywhere such an info. This could be a potential reason for me not to buy this watch.
Is it possibile to directly start an hangout chat or a whatsapp chat directly from the watch? I mean can I only answer to a recieved hangout or whatsapp message I guess, but can I even send a new message directly from the watch?
I own a Huawei Watch and, at least for Google hangout, I can start a new chat directly from the smartwatch.
Thanks in advance, this is really important for me.

The Watchmaker works with my HW2 only after I flashed the English rom. I am now connecting both my HW1 and HW2 with the same phone. When I change the watch face in the app, both watches update with the same watch face.

Didn't realise but you need to install the app from the playstore (watch version) on your watch
Used watchmaker and contribution from Treasury to modify and personalize an LG watch sport watch face
Unlike Androidwear 1.0, you have to install the app ON YOUR WATCH from the play store. This is best accomplished from a computer. Once installed the app on your phone and on your watch should be able to communicate.

Watch face name is Portions, you can find it on facerepo.com, but you can also download from Play Store on your watch an app called Looks Android Wear Watch Faces. The second way is much better, because you can add complications directly from your watch.

The only requirements that I found was that you have to have your watch paired, watchmaker installed on phone and watch. Once you set Watchmaker as your watchface you should be able to send faces without any problems.

Sorry, but I moved away from that. Found the app "Looks" on play store (can't find it while looking for it on the phone, must look for it in the play store in the watch). It has the watch face you need and many other good ones.

Here WeGo - can't find it

I did a search, but most of this applied to iOS.
I'm using a Pixel 2 XL with a newly-purchased Gear S3 Frontier Edition (non-LTE), and I am unable to find the HERE WeGo app in the Galaxy Apps store. I'm in Canada.
Any idea on how I can get it?

Same here - can not find and install HERE wego (running Samsung Gear S app on iPhone). Got mine Gear S3 few days ago (seems Polish/Poland version, without LTE).
I'm from Brazil and here the app also disappeared from the store.
Same here! Used the Gear S3 + Here Maps successfully on my S8 for one day and yesterday switched to OnePlus 5T where Here We Go is not listed... Now thinking about ditching the GS3 for a Huawei Watch or something like that... Not reasonable.
Seems it might be limited to Samsung phones only.
I actually ordered a TicWatch E to try out Android Wear as no maps is a deal-breaker for me; especially for a $300 watch

Not a solution but let me share my experience on this.
I live in Saudi currently and my watch is on OXA CSC. I had Here app installed. I went to India on vacation and changed the SIM card in the phone also did a reset of the watch. After this noticed that Here app was not visible in the App Store. I returned to Saudi and changed back to my old SIM. Now I can see the app and installed it again.
So it may be region specific. I have a Nexus 6p.
Same issue here, no solution found yet.
Well.. i had the same issue after resetting my watch. i used to have it installed before so i went into the gear app and then into the samsung galaxy apps-> menu -> my apps -> all.. and there it showed up... Could install it without any problems.

Due to restriction of Samsung, the Here we Go app isn't available for non-samsung phones. @Chainsaw Enduro was very helpful in giving me the wgt file.
Download:
goo.gl/75axzA
See here for installinstruction: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/themes/swimming-apps-samsung-gear-s3-t3750444/post75687360
Big thanks to @Chainsaw Enduro
The only downside so far: the app on the watch can't retrieve Internet via Bluetooth, so it needs wifi (or hotspot) for initializing the route/download the map.
Thanks @halloarno
The instructions on the link didn't work for me. Here is what I needed to do:
1) Download SDB from Samsung at https://developer.tizen.org/ko/deve...nning-and-testing-your-app/sdb?langredirect=1
You will need Java SDK 8
2) Connect watch via wifi with debugging mode enabled
3) Use the following commands via the command line:
sdb connect xxx.xxx.xxx (IP address of watch)
sdb install wego.wgt
4) I kept getting the following error:
* The version of SDB client (2.3.8) and server (2.3.0) are different.
This may cause version compatibility problems.
It is recommended to use SDB server 2.3.8. *
But it still worked
