I have Gear S3 Frontier & S7 Edge. My S3 is working great with exception of Samsung Pay. Actually, I don't even know where it is because it does not show up either on my S3 or Samsung Gear App. I tried many times opening the Gear App and select tab Settings and where Samsung Pay should be there is only the S Health tab and Samsung Galaxy App tab. Please help i have updated both softwares and even tried uninstalling and installing to negative results.

Yes, you can use the wall charger that comes with the S7E. I even use it for headphones & other electronics and is ok. The fast charging function will work only with the devices that have this function. In rest, the charger will be a normal (very good) charger.
What about hangout and whatsapp?
Hi, I couldn't find anywhere such an info. This could be a potential reason for me not to buy this watch.
Is it possibile to directly start an hangout chat or a whatsapp chat directly from the watch? I mean can I only answer to a recieved hangout or whatsapp message I guess, but can I even send a new message directly from the watch?
I own a Huawei Watch and, at least for Google hangout, I can start a new chat directly from the smartwatch.

I work in a cell phone store. We have a gear watch by samsung with a green security thing.
Gear is discontinued and that demo is not on display. I was wondering if there is a way to use it as a normal gear. It has a preset screen that it shows that's it.

Well: if you are working in a cell phone store, then maybe your supervisor and/or Samsung will know; don't you think?
This is the Gear 2 section. You'll probably get better answers in the original Gear section where they have root and custom ROMs that will probably fix your situation. Maybe just a wipe and reinstall of the stock ROM is all you need.

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy grand prime (SM-G530H) and I bought Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 classic smart watch. I tried to download the Samsung Gear from the internet. I can pair the watch with my phone through Bluetooth well, but when I use Samsung Gear application to connect to my S2 watch, a message appears "Gear Not found".
please, try to help me to connect my phone with the watch, since I can't buy another phone nowadays, since I'm really broke. I just wanted to try out that watch and paid all what i had to get it.

Are you just rooted our have you installed a custom Rom? Also have you disabled any apps/services?

Well, my phone was rooted long time ago. I know now that Samsung Gear S2 is only compatible with Android phones with RAM bigger than 1.5 GB, but I'm sure there is a solution so that my phone can be connected to the my gear watch, since it's just useless now!

Try to pair the phone to the watch using the Samsung Gear app first, do not pair the watch to the phone under Bluetooth connections.
Also, there are files that many people remove when they are trying to lighten up roms. Your best bet is to backup your current Rom and flash a pure stock Rom. If you can't get things connected that way, you know it's a device compatibility issue

Hey guys I know it's unrelated but do you think there's an app that can emulate hard keys ie. Volume/Home, so I could like use it for the camera or some kind of camera app.
There're paid apps for it. But I have a non-samsung phone, I can't purchase any.

You may be able to do that with Task2 on the S2 and Tasker running on your phone. I use Task2 to set my phone on vibrate and to do some other things with it.

Do you know if Gear S3 will have all its functions paired with an Android that is not from Samsung?
Or is it only with a Samsung mobile that all functions are active?
I'm using mine with an iPhone 5S, with the Gear Manager Beta for IOS.

The S3 Frontier works flawlessly with my LG G5.
Exactly what does "limited capability" (from Samsung's web site) for calls, messaging, email, wifi sync mean? I have a Gear S3 with a Samsung S7 Edge, but am trying to convince a friend who has an LG V20 what a great watch this is... thanks for any info!

Well if you have the LTE version of Gear, you can make phone calls from the watch without a phone at all.

As long as your connected via Bluetooth to your phone, then yes it works just fine. I use mine with an LG G5 and it works fine.

What dialer/ phone app are you using? I'm able to receive calls on the watch but only the answer/ decline option, not the answer directly from the gear (talk through the gear)

Well I just tested the calling options:
With bluetooth on and connected to my LG G5, it dials it from my phone but uses the watch's speaker and mic.
With bluetooth off and connected via the watch's sim, I can make and receive calls using only the watch.
I am using the default dialer on both the watch and the phone. Hope that helps...
Have you tried it with a bluetooth headset on a phone not Samsung? I and many others have serious problems because the bluetooth headset disables the Bluetooth "call profile" of Gear !!!
So the use of gear excludes the use of bluetooth headphones including the car handsfree !!!

I have V20 and I receive texts as notifications only. They donot store or sync into the messages app. So no conversation stays on device for reply too. Only chance to reply is when viewing original notification. A new message can be sent via messages though. My biggest complaint.

This was my experience as well with my Moto Z. The messages app was gone after pairing to the Moto. At least on my S3 Frontier LTE, the text messages are a little finicky (delays in showing up, no notifications at all) so this was a deal breaker for me. I switched back to my Note 4.
looks to work well with some phones, but seems not for all of rooted roms :'(
and on my oneplus2 (stock rom) can't find the Gear S app !! (just the Samsung accessory and Gear S Plugin)....

I have an S3 and have been waiting for this app to get an update so I can use facer. I had previously received an error that the ph1 isn't compatible, but this morning I tried again and it works! I've been very impressed with how fast apps have been getting updates to work with this phone.
So for anyone using an S2 or S3 or just want the app, it now seems to be working.

I run it through the Samsung gear app. It use to say incompatible but now works fine. It's not in my app drawer, however, and samsung pay doesn't work yet on the ph1 to my knowledge yet.

Directly with the S3. You need special radios for it to work without nfc that the essential doesn't have.
Thinking of getting a gear s2 with a speaker in it. Can you confirm messages/calls work with the Bluetooth connection?
Anyone using Samsung Gear Circle bt headphones with this phone? Level U work fine (notification, music off when closed, etc. Gear circle does none of this
I just updated my Gear S2 to the new software and all the Gear S3 watch faces that were available in the store for the Gear S2 have now gone. Does anyone know how I can get them back? I have also checked my downloads in the store and they are not showing up in there either.

7 of the watch faces are now back on the store for me, currently though I am still missing 4 overall.
Same here... Just change to an s9 thought that was the problem... But i guess its a galaxy apps problem... Didn't find another way to get them...

I also changed to an S9+ from an S7E so it could be that I just thought it was the most recent update for the Gear S2. By the way one of the watch faces called Urban Classic is now back on the store but the other remain off for now.
mine have disapeared just from repairing as im on a s8 and rooted everytime i restart my device i have to repair any bluetooths and several times mine have disapeared

Just check and all the watchface are there again... just download them all...
