I am searching for gamepad compatible with nexus 6p. My requirements are
1)It should have 'wired mode'.
Means I should be able to connect and power up controller using type c cable. Like type c otg + gamepad's output cable.
I dont want to remember and charge one more device. Have plenty of'em already.
I dont understand the fascination of connecting via bluetooth for the devices which we keep 2 centimeters apart.
One more advantage of wired mode is that android natively supports gamepads. So the list of supported games will be greater than controller specific game apps (correct me if I am wrong).
Also I am gonna root my phone so even if games are not compatible, I can map the keys using different apps availble for that purpose.
2) It should have clip/mount/phone holder. So its easy to play.
So far I've found two solutions which checks above two boxes
1) Razer serval. But this is ridiculously priced at $80 and not available globally.
2) Another option is to buy a ps3 sixaxis controller and mount phone using gameklip.
Original gameklip costs $20 but aliexpress knock-offs are available for ~$5. There are some DIY methods for making clip but I dont want to go in that.
6p supports power out delivery. So another option is to use blutooth controller like moga/ipega and charge it simultaneously while playing via bluetooth.
Let me know your thoughts on this. Please suggest if there is any gamepad available which checks above two boxes.
Did you find anything? I'm looking for a controller at the moment as well...
You can use a PS3 controller on an Android device.
I went with the Moga power because it was on sale for $10.
You can get a clip and a USB-C to Micro USB and a PS4 controller and it will work. No root needed. But the clip and USB,cable will cost around $20 is you already have a PS4 remote.
But if you do not then the Moga is worth it since it cost less than a PS4 remote.

don't the volume buttons get pressed down when you use the holder?
I have a moga hero pro. Really easy to connect.
I use PC/Xbox wired controller if I need it. You just have to get a micro to usb c adapter

No. But then I use a rhino case and that makes them a lot harder to press. A little crap on rhinos side but then it's good for the moga, thanks mate, I was looking for a positive for them crap buttons.

I need to buy some of these. How is the USB type c to use otg?

I think I could design an attachment which could fit a case and use otg
Do you think it would affect the battery having it connected all the time?

Also, I'll be buying the m10 when it's released. Sorry but the HTC devices are just the pinnacle of android. Samsung just doesn't get it, neither does LG, Sony hasn't got a clue and nexus devices are limited to cm, aosp and Erm stock which is literally the same. Sense is a phenomenal OS when used correctly with the right mods. I simply can't find that functionality on the nexus. I'll be giving this phone away soon when I get my M10 which will be the phone to beat for the next year and a half. Minimum..

I got ipega pg 9037. It works very well with 6p. It is replica of xbox one controller so it is comfortable to hold. Only issue is volume button is getting presses by clip. So i use huawei clear case which levels the buttons. Problem solved [emoji106]

In terms of functionality, the Ps3 with six axis is epic. You can map it to screen locations, but for ease of use. The moga pro is second to none. Feels like a 360 pad. Dpad could use a tweak or two but beyond that it's robust and the battery is superb.
Scratch that, I simply can't get my Moga to pair

DIY
The wiimote is really the most painless option. Only trouble is that the handset and the controller are seperate. Thats easily fixed with some bolts (see frankenmote.jpg) and a pice of Acrillic with some rubber bands /see wiimote_n1.png).
I recommend a Drill press for drilling through the Wiimote. That way the holes go nice and straight through.
I guess in a pinch one could use nails or maybe some long woodscrews instead of bolts.

The nunchucks are now compatible too, it looks so beautifully in Super Mario Advance.
I just prop the phone against something and I get in a comfortable position. Then it's game on! I was very surprised at how responsive and reliable it is.
Would this work for other phones? X10?

My god I totally forgot about the Wii Classic control, this would be so much better then the regular Wii controller IMO!
Wii Classic Controller is the BOMB
I use this program with my nexus one and a Nyko Wiimote, and a classic controller pro. It is the best damn set up I have ever gamed with. The only controller I could see doing a better job is the dualshock 2.
So to sum up;
Off Brand WiiMotes do work (used at GS w/EDGE card is cheap)
Classic controllers are the most nostalgic and perfect way to play your old SNES games. Can't wait for Joystick control, and maybe some PS emulation!
Hi, I'm the developer of the WiimoteController.
Read the first 3 posts in my thread. You'll learn alot about what is supported and where.
If your phone is rooted, it's really easy to use the sixaxis app in the market to connect a PS3 controller to the phone using bluetooth.
Problem is, this phone has to be connected with sixaxis's "method 2" which means you can't also use another bluetooth device at the same time. Most wouldn't need to, but if you use bluetooth headphones this is a factor...you'll get audio from the emulator and music just fine, but you'll need to connect your headphones through the headphone jack instead.
Anyways, the other problem is you need to set your phone down in order to use the controller.
Enter the gameklip! Yeah I'm totally giving them a free plug, and it's not exactly new, but the current version of it is new, and since it's been improved a little and not mentioned here, I figured I'd make a post.
Just got mine in the mail today, works like a charm, even with my phone that is *NOT* rooted. Since my phone is not currently rooted I bought the wired version (same klip, just that it also includes the appropriate cable to connect the phone to a ps3 controller, it's basically a USB to go cable with the end being the 5pin mini instead of what other USB to go cables are.
It's worth noting the actual klip itself is identical from wireless to wired versions.
Since there is not a klip specifically for our phone (and I wouldn't think it would be likely for there to be one in the future, we buy the case mount version...basically the klip attaches to a case with that 3m adhesive. Sturdy enough, but don't use it as a weapon or anything!
Anyways, it works great in Snesoid and Nesoid without any rooting, and with *NO* other software requirement. All you have to do is go into the key settings for Snesoid, select the appropriate button you want to change, and press the button you want to do the action on your controller. All buttons works, and yes, even the analog sticks will.
Works great! It's a bit large to carry around since it's the size of a PS3 controller + a phone case on top of it, but I plan to just leave it at my desk at work as that's the only place I'd use it.
Anyways, if you sometimes get the craving for some old style games and don't want to spend all the cash for a PSP or something, I can say this works wonderfully. I am especially impressed with how durable the cable seems and the robustness of the packaging.
The one thing I will say is I'd really recommend getting a TPU style case....most of the hard plastic ones are too difficult to remove the phone from the case, and I'd be willing to bet the softer silicone style cases might be adhesive resistant.

Hi, i want to connect my Xperia Z to my TV and i bought a MHL cable, however this one doesn't work.
It's 5 pin but not an adapter. Just a cable one side MHL other side HDMI.
Anyone know which one works? The one from the sony website is a little expensive it's around €30,-
Thanks
For some reason (which I don't know), it needs extra power, I bought this a while ago:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181157935396
and works like a charm! Doesn't work with USB-OTG, only power plus screen.
Alstu !

Ordered from ebay and will come next month. Thanks dude.
Root?
Dumb question time.. I read on some of the ebay pages selling the cables saying something like 'do not support the phone has root rom' - does this mean rooted phones won't work?
Startech Not compatible
I just purchased Startech Passive 3m MHL Cable. I tried it on two different TVs and it was not funtioning for my Xperia Z. Fortunately I have reciept and can return. Thanks to the other posts, Skiva looks like the best options. Other adapter systems fail during gaming, as they flicker OFF during gaming movements. Maybe now with the Sony Z, i should just get the Dualshock 3 and avoid that issue all together.

So what makes it good? Serious question. I'm really interested but don't know much about it. Prices range dramatically but what justifies the higher price tags? (resolution? gameplay? build quality?)
Btw--this specific pair is on amazon for a little more money but a much shorter delivery time.
I second the Bobo Z4. Comfortable, adjustable lenses for spectacle wearers like me, and pupil distance adjustment, earphones.

It comes with a bluetooth controller. You plug the 3.5mm audio jack on the headset into the phone. Also you can find it for cheaper on eBay. I got mine for 29 USD.

I am thinking of adding a keyboard for my fire HD 10 tablet 2017.
I am thinking of two options.
1. Bluetooth keyboard
https://www.amazon.com/Arteck-HB030...pID=51K3rbjy8rL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
2. using my Logitech K400 keyboard. It has a unifying reciever. I am thinking of buying a OTG adapter reader.
https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Adap...qid=1519484873&sr=1-18&keywords=micro+usb+hub
I am thinking I can connect the unifying reciever to it, and that way I can use my keyboard, (which has an included trackapad) on the fire tablet.
My question is :
1. Will the unifying receiver K400 combo work?
2. Will the trackpad works (does it show an arrow?)
3. Should i just get the Bluetooth keyboard instead, and how the Bluetooth connectivity?, (no dongle , no mouse
4. Any Bluetooth keyboard anyone would like to recommend??
Thank you.
I got this for my dad's 10": https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GIZHR2A/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My review and pictures are under the review titled "Great value". I haven't had any issues with it (neither has my dad) and the keyboard feels pretty close to a full size layout.
I've been able to use a Bluetooth keyboard with a built-in trackpad with my HD 8 on 5.6.0.1.
I've also been able to use a separate USB mouse and keyboard simultaneously with an OTG cable and a USB hub. If the receiver works on another device (e.g. laptop), then it should work with an OTG cable.
If you carry around your tablet different places a lot, just go all Bluetooth if you can.
I'd suggest going Bluetooth as well. You can get cases with keyboards built in that connect via micro usb really cheaply, but they are more aggravation then they are worth. I bought one for my mom's 8" HD and I could instantly tell that bluetooth was the better option. I wound up buying a Logitech Type-V case for an Ellipsis 8 (because it was only $8 at Walmart), made some adjustments and so far so good.
I bought a Bluetooth XTREME keyboard at a National Wholesale Liquidators store in the NYC area a few weeks ago. They were about to be sold out. It was selling for $12, with no refunds. Took a chance on it, and it works perfectly with my 2017 fire hd 10. My tablet is attached to the FINTIE case.

Bluetooth keyboard.
I bought (in Lidls) a SilverCrest keyboard for £15 which works very well.
I don't think that the USB dongle would work, mainly because Android is using a VERY similar kernel to Linux (almost identical) which is why we have SuperUser hacks.
Linux requires the use of drivers to do really anything, but Android isn't Linux and doesn't have any native driver support.
Best bet is to use a Bluetooth keyboard, and don't worry there is literally no latency. It works amazing.

I recently got a new Logitech 9-10" Tablet Keyboard Case Universal Folio since I got another Fire HD 10 on Prime day. It's not worth the retail price or the $32 Amazon is asking for it since it doesn't fit the tablet perfectly- the grips will apply pressure to the volume or power switch. I put a few pieces of foam on the grips to prevent that from happening and it works well enough. I got it new for $18 from a seller on Ebay. They have 9 more if anyone is interested: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Logitech-9...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Not that I know of. I wouldn't be surprised if a generic equivalent was around for Android tablets but you will have to make sure of the dimensions.
I have the Logitech K400 and have the Unifying Receiver plugged into a OTG USB cable. My Fire 10 will not open the onboard keyboard with it plugged in, but neither will it record keystrokes from the K400. Not sure what the problem is.
