Which MHL cable? - Xperia Z Accessories

Hi, i want to connect my Xperia Z to my TV and i bought a MHL cable, however this one doesn't work.
It's 5 pin but not an adapter. Just a cable one side MHL other side HDMI.
Anyone know which one works? The one from the sony website is a little expensive it's around €30,-
Thanks

For some reason (which I don't know), it needs extra power, I bought this a while ago:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181157935396
and works like a charm! Doesn't work with USB-OTG, only power plus screen.
Alstu !

This one http://docteur-gsm.com/fr/sony-xperia-z/90207-cable-adaptateur-hdmi-mhl-sony-xperia-z.html works perfectly for me.

Thanks all i bought the one from ebay.

Hello all,
Would this cable work?
ebay.com/itm/Hot-High-Speed-15M-1080P-Micro-USB-To-HDMI-HDTV-Adapter-AV-TV-Cable-Newest-/390623341707
I like that it's long enough to keep my phone in hand without having to be close to the TV.
Thanks

do these work for z1 too?

Ordered from ebay and will come next month. Thanks dude.

Root?
Dumb question time.. I read on some of the ebay pages selling the cables saying something like 'do not support the phone has root rom' - does this mean rooted phones won't work?

Startech Not compatible
I just purchased Startech Passive 3m MHL Cable. I tried it on two different TVs and it was not funtioning for my Xperia Z. Fortunately I have reciept and can return. Thanks to the other posts, Skiva looks like the best options. Other adapter systems fail during gaming, as they flicker OFF during gaming movements. Maybe now with the Sony Z, i should just get the Dualshock 3 and avoid that issue all together.

Nexus One Desktop Dock?

I Know the phone is old but I think I want a dock. Whats a good one to get besides the one thats available by HTC in their market? I'd like to not spend THAT much money on a dock
Same request by me!
Heres some of the Docks for the Nexus, although personally I like the HTC OEM Dock.

Thanks. Are there any other ones that look "better"
Also whats this I hear about OEM dock charging thru some other means rather than the usb pin?
Yes, If you look at the bottom of your N1, you see those golden pins. These are used to charge the device with the OEM dock. I have it on my nightstand and I love it. I should add a stereo to my bedroom so I can also stream music with it.

Compared to my G1 dock, and the wife's Captivate dock, I've got to say that the "connectorless" charging on the HTC dock is just awesome. Yes, the dock is pricey, but being able to (literally) drop the phone on the dock rather than carefully seat it is really great. Need to grab the phone, no "hold the dock with one hand and pull the phone with the other"...just grab the phone.
There are complaints about the phone vibrating in the dock and losing connection, but that hasn't happened to me, and the benefits of docking with the gold pins is huge IMHO. I strongly encourage the OP to consider the HTC dock (unless there's a 3rd party dock that uses those pins, but I don't think there is).
Spend the extra money and go for the HTC OEM Dock. You won't regret it!

Totally agreed...
I have recently purchased the desktop dock and its well worth the extra money because of blue-tooth connectivity. FYI This works whether the phone is docked or not.
What ok really dislike about the dock is that as soon as you remove the phone from the stand it will interrupt the bluetooth connection and switch sound back from the hifi to the phones lousy loudspeakers. Even if you just pick it up to read iure were a text. When you drop it again the phone turns on bluetooth again and tries to reconnect with the dock which takes about 40 second in total. And totally unnecessary! As far as I understand when I take the phone from the dock not the dock but the phone turns off its bluetooth therefor it's only a question of cellphone implementation. But I haven't found a tweak yet that changes the phones dock settings. If anyone has ideas on how to solve this inconvenience i4 be glad to hear them. But beside that the dock I is stylish and useful...

Just pair the nexus with the dock in the bluetooth menu...then play your music

for example if i have an Aukey QC 2.0 wall charger and plug into the Sony dock stand, will the QC 2.0 still work?

Hey there, have been using this site for awhile but decided to register to answer your question as a first post haha
I've been looking for a good dock for the Z5 as well since I've used the Z3 with its magnetic charging dock... which was really nice.
Currently I'm using a charging dock from Devilcase, they make great aluminum bumpers for the Xperia line as well! (I am not affiliated with them in anyway)
Just google Devildock or the sort and you'll be able to find it.
It is a bit costly, but it's definitely high quality and supports QC2.0 (or whatever charging cable you use actually! Since you can "mod" the charging dock")
I got one here locally for $3 and this thing works well + looks great on my desk!
Hope that helps!
Mine got something like this link. Work just like a charm. Got it from ebay about 7 bucks.
You could pull footer component to make phone-stand wider. It will make this stand compatible with my Z5+case.

What is a good VR headset for this phone? I am looking at this one in particular: http://www.amazon.com/PASONOMI-H-B-...ue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A2SBT3E4YYUGG8

So what makes it good? Serious question. I'm really interested but don't know much about it. Prices range dramatically but what justifies the higher price tags? (resolution? gameplay? build quality?)
Btw--this specific pair is on amazon for a little more money but a much shorter delivery time.
I second the Bobo Z4. Comfortable, adjustable lenses for spectacle wearers like me, and pupil distance adjustment, earphones.

What controller works best with this and the 6P? Do you plug the 6P into the headset, via the USB-C port, or just connect the headphone only?

Sharp Aquos S2 USB Type C to 3.5mm Audio adapter

Hi all,
I have a question regarding USB Type C to 3.5mm Audio adapter for Sharp Aquos S2 in particular and in general.
I want to have a spare adapter and bought one from JoyBuy but it doesn't work. Sharp Aquos S2 doesn't recognize it when a headphone attached. To be fair, Sharp Aquos S2 is not listed as compatible device. But what makes it different from one brand to another? I thought USB Type C is universal?
Anyway, I am considering to buy this one or this one. But now I need to make sure that it will work before I buy it.
Has anyone got any experience? Probably not many people would buy spare before the one comes with the phone broken. But I just want to keep a spare for peace of mind. Thank you.

I have purchased the Vention USB-C to 3.5mm and can confirm it works with the Sharp Aquos S2 FS810 4/64. You need to hold the microphone close to your mouth when speaking though, it is slightly muted.
Sound quality is excellent due to the inbuilt DAC.

3.5mm Jack Adapter

So as we all know Samsung don't include a USB-C to 3.5mm Jack adapter in the box ??*
So I tried to use the one that came with my Huawei Mate 20 Pro and get an error saying this device isn't compatible ?
Anyone brought an adapter yet that works?

Works great with my Bose QuietComfort 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones
Same problem here its because of the missing DAC chip as far as i was able to dig deep in to it.
I purchased a shotgun usb-c microphone and when i connect to it its just recording crayz noise.
I tested on my girlfriend oppo find x2 pro and its working fine.
Anyone knows some external microphone what is working with the ultra?
Posted this in a different thread but might be relevant here.
^^^ I agree completely. I guess free is free but if anyone has decent to high quality earphones or headphones please do me a favor and buy a cheap $15 and under high quality USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter DAC. It is worth it. I just bought and tried these per the knowledgeable audiophiles at head-fi and other Note 20 ultra owners here and they're the best $13 I've ever spent. The overall sound quality of my Note 20 Ultra with my Audio-Technica ATH-CKR90iS sound amazing. For a second I wish I still had my pre-trade Note 9 and its internal DAC to directly compare but even from memory it's not even close. It reminds me to a lesser degree the SQ of my old LG V20 but these earphones weren't around back then.
I'll compare them to the Samsung freebies when they arrive but I'll be shocked if they'll be able to keep up let alone match or exceed them. I'll more than likely end up selling them and recoup the cost of the DAC essentially making them free..
Edit: Forgot the link. Look at the 2nd review for a technical breakdown of the internal components and sound quality to get a better idea of how unbelievably good these are..

Yeah that's what I use, lol highly doubt it has a Burr Brown high res DAC in it though.
It's pretty wimpy too as far as it's puny thin cable that lacks good strain reliefs.
Samsung keeps falling short on the HQ audio side... this is getting to be a nasty habit. Lots of storage for HQ audio files but crappy throughput... brilliant
If you're going into a good reciever/amp with wav files (HDCD) or higher the best plan be to keep the signal in the digital realm, not use a crappy dongle DAC and use the amp's DACs instead.
of course audiophiles will want more but for everyday use the samsung dongle works just fine.

You need a adapter that specifically supports note 20.
U GREEN sells a couple of variation of such dongle. Find one that says support note 20 and you are good to go
