So as we all know Samsung don't include a USB-C to 3.5mm Jack adapter in the box ??*
So I tried to use the one that came with my Huawei Mate 20 Pro and get an error saying this device isn't compatible ?
Anyone brought an adapter yet that works?
I use the Hidizs sonata one and it works perfectly.

Works great with my Bose QuietComfort 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones
Same problem here its because of the missing DAC chip as far as i was able to dig deep in to it.
I purchased a shotgun usb-c microphone and when i connect to it its just recording crayz noise.
I tested on my girlfriend oppo find x2 pro and its working fine.
Anyone knows some external microphone what is working with the ultra?
Posted this in a different thread but might be relevant here.
^^^ I agree completely. I guess free is free but if anyone has decent to high quality earphones or headphones please do me a favor and buy a cheap $15 and under high quality USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter DAC. It is worth it. I just bought and tried these per the knowledgeable audiophiles at head-fi and other Note 20 ultra owners here and they're the best $13 I've ever spent. The overall sound quality of my Note 20 Ultra with my Audio-Technica ATH-CKR90iS sound amazing. For a second I wish I still had my pre-trade Note 9 and its internal DAC to directly compare but even from memory it's not even close. It reminds me to a lesser degree the SQ of my old LG V20 but these earphones weren't around back then.
I'll compare them to the Samsung freebies when they arrive but I'll be shocked if they'll be able to keep up let alone match or exceed them. I'll more than likely end up selling them and recoup the cost of the DAC essentially making them free..
Edit: Forgot the link. Look at the 2nd review for a technical breakdown of the internal components and sound quality to get a better idea of how unbelievably good these are..

Yeah that's what I use, lol highly doubt it has a Burr Brown high res DAC in it though.
It's pretty wimpy too as far as it's puny thin cable that lacks good strain reliefs.
Samsung keeps falling short on the HQ audio side... this is getting to be a nasty habit. Lots of storage for HQ audio files but crappy throughput... brilliant
If you're going into a good reciever/amp with wav files (HDCD) or higher the best plan be to keep the signal in the digital realm, not use a crappy dongle DAC and use the amp's DACs instead.
of course audiophiles will want more but for everyday use the samsung dongle works just fine.

You need a adapter that specifically supports note 20.
U GREEN sells a couple of variation of such dongle. Find one that says support note 20 and you are good to go

Hello guys,
apparently something happened to my earphones. I'm guessing my roomies messed with it and busted it. I can see that there's a hole in the right earphone now.
I'm in search of an earphone which is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S. Sure I can get loads of better ones off play/Amazon. but I wanted to get the one which is compatible with my phone.
can anyone suggest me some in-ear earphones with volume adjuster or perhaps link me to original one?
thanks.
Look here
There are few other threads discussing about headphone compatibility, do a search.
As I have said in the first thread, I'm using a Nokia AD-54 with my own pair of headphones. IMO thats the best way to get highest quality. Because you can connect any high quality 3.5mm headphone.
P.S: For me Samsung's bundled pair sounds pretty bad, any $30 aftermarket head/earphone will sound way better.
I did a search already, but I found few more questions instead of answers,
the thing that nothers me is the polarity (mic/spk/gnd/gnd) thing, I wonder how many headphones/earphones support that..
I dont want to invest into something that doesnt work with my phone..
do the following two work?
http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/home...onal_headphones-headsets_dj-headphones_502103
http://www.jbl.com/EN-GB/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?PID=REF250BG&accT=1&tsT=0&ovT=1
I've found something for you (I expected it, to be true):
-Every normal Headphone does Work (without Heaset functionality, understandable)
-iPhone-compatible Headsets do not work on the Galaxy
Oh and in a Review about the Galaxy someone used several Headphones, all of them are working. For Example there were Sennheiser CX300.
thanks, i'll go on earphone hunting now, and will let you know how it goes.
cheers!
also these seem to be cheaper: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=34645994#

Link to Sennheiser site is broken. I'm not sure about the other one either. Some say Sennheiser MM50 works, but I havent tried.
As for using a regular 3.5mm ear/headphone for music, everything works. I am using several different standard 3.5mm earphones and headphones, but remember, when you receive a call you have to disconnect the headphone to talk, built in mic disables as soon as you plug in the headphone. Its annoying, thats why I use the Nokia AD-54 adapter and a Bluetooth clip when walking outside.
urbanears
If you do a Google search for Urbanears, they do a range of headphones that will work as hands free with the SGS. I have some of the over the head ones and there pritty good. They come with a variaty of headphone jack addapters for diferent phones and have an inline mic.

I use these earphones and I can say that they are the best!! Great sound quality... Extreme bass clarity
Apologise for resurrecting this thread, but I want to confirm that the Nokia Adaptor provided with the Urbanears range of headsets do indeed work with the Samsung Galaxy S.
I ordered a pair of Medis, but when the headset first arrived the Nokia adaptor was faulty, I emailed them that the adaptor wasn't working, and they responded asking for my address so they could send out a free replacement (they did not ask for any kind of proof of purchase). When the new adaptor arrived, it worked like a charm, media button and mic became functional.
Yep, the urbanears nokia adaptor works perfectly

To operate the headphones you should turn off the microphone of the iPhone, because in the Galaxy S the pins are reversed.
A test when you insert the earphones, hold the microphone, you will hear the difference.!

That's not a hole dear. There is one upper layer of some kind of fabric thats been removed or got removed. Go to any samsung service senter they will replace it free of cost if in warranty your phone within three days.
Same happened with me but my left earphone of headphone wasn't working and this time they replaced it with the better one.. M njoying.

Urbanears don't appear to sell the nokia adaptor seperately, but you could always try emailing them.
I bought my Urbanears (black set of Medis) from a third-party site, but when I contacted Urbanears directly specifying that the adaptor that came with my Urbanears did not function, they simply asked for my address and sent a replacement adaptor out to me, they didn't verify that I actually owned a pair of their headphones. Theoretically, you could send them an email pretending to be someone with the same problem, though it would of course be harmful to their business if abused.
Just a quick question: i noticed, that if i am using the stock headset with an old ipod touch, i always have to press the button to get all the sound. Is there any way to avoid this?

Surely there are adaptors availably which are sold separately? I use a Sennheiser BT headset at the moment (MM200) but would like a pair of wired, good in-ear earphones so I have one less battery to worry about plus the sound quality is better. But the one thing I love about BT is the remote control buttons and there are very few options available for Samsung compatible wired earphones.
Can anyone recommend a good adaptor?
I bought myself a pair of samsung gtI9000 earphones from ebay for £4 :/.
works like a charm!

I've also found another set of adapters that might work: http://www.amazon.com/Native-Union-Adaptor-Blackberry-Phones/dp/B003NVM9HK, but given that the Medis is available for $USD50 I might just grab that and have a spare set of headphones.

Yes - use a rubber band to keep the button pressed
I use this adapter to make my NuForce NE-7Ms work with the SGS: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-354r3m-r2f.htm. In theory you should use this one since you're doing the reverse: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-354r2m-r3f.htm, but they should be the same. As I said earlier, it works well but is bulky and doesn't fit my cases without modding
I can confirm two headsets working (tested) with I9000. The first one is Sennheiser MM-50 Nokia (the Nokia part is important, as they do also them for IPhone), second are the Stock Nokia's E52 ones.
After ripping my original headset I'had bought the Sennheiser's headset and must say I am quite pleased with them.
Cheers
So there is no headset with Nokia ad-54 functionality...
I mean there is no way to plug in my earphones and control calls/music... Exept of soldering iron... it's sad.
so earlier today i received an email from huawei north america saying that there will be no us release fro the AM7 which means that im going to have to import one if i want one. i currently use a nexus 5 and am happy with it but the lack of expanded storage and a finger print scanner have made me want to upgrade. i was considering the 3GBram/32GBrom AM7 but due to its price/availability/compatibility it seems that i might go with the 2GBram/16GBrom version. i already have the device in my amazon basket ($540USD) but have started to wonder if i should. i have read on some other forums that huawei will be releasing the ascend mate 8 sometime in the summer and it might have usb type-c and other great goodies. so, my question is should i wait fro the AM8 or should i just buy the AM7? i would really appreciate input from anyone and everyone but especially those living in the US. thanks in advance!

me too, it will bring so many great benefits. it seems that once type-c rolls out some hardware manufactures will be discontinuing the use of the 3.5mm headphone jack which means usb audio out. FINALLY!!! my nexus 5 apparently plays audio through its micro usb port but i dont have lollipop installed so i haven't tried it. the first manufacturer to implement this will probably be apple....... damn it! even thought they didnt create the idea they are just gonna take the credit for it just like with apple pay! so long as the 3.5mm jack dies and we all get better longer lasting audio ill be happy. i have had to replace the damn audio jack twice! i do love my music!

lol, well you better get ready because they are going to be extinct. from what i have read the audio will be much better and will give a boost of innovation to the headphones market. there are some videos on youtube where some people use the their micro usb ports to stream beautiful high quality audio. there are many websites that measured the audible quality of 3.5mm jack vs microUSB. new phones will be able to charge while using the type-c to listen to music so im not worried one bit! i just cant wait to get some great high def earbuds and phones. as soon as apple implements this everyone will want to do it so you might as well get ready.

no , no mate.. audio jack will persists some time stream ? I am streaming video wirelessly i dont use cable only if i transfering large amount of data from pc to phone vice versa or firmwares.. and with 3.1 it will be megafast.. but obviously if u hve some kind of dock with decent speakkers then of course it will be via connector . but on the go or in plane etc.. defo HP jack ..
if u remember old phones with dial pad buttons 5 -8 years back been using charging connector for headphones.. and once smartphones released they automatically made HP jack.. otherwise they would keep it via charger port .. but they didn't ..
Hey all. The LeEco Pro3 is my first phone without a headphone jack, and I'm really curious about one thing: the included USB-C 3.5mm headphone adapter. The build quality doesn't seem particularly great so I'm guessing it'll break quite easily (I hope not).
Now, I stuff my phone into my pocket all the time with the headphone adapter connected, and it's always stuck at an angle. Unfortunately it has to be like that for me to fit it into my pockets, otherwise it dangles out and stays unprotected. I travel in bad weather (live in Canada), so I absolutely need everything to stay inside my pockets or my electronics will get wet. Sadly, the headphone adapter gets bent every time.
So I'm wondering... how long did your headphone adapter stay alive? When did it stop working? Is it still working? And can anyone recommend me other USB-C headphone adapters that work with LeEco phones? I do have a spare original LeEco adapter to use if mine breaks (from the Le2) but I'd rather buy other ones instead.
Thanks!
Mine lasted a week or so.. but i knew it was going to break fast so i bought 6 more type c to 3.5 adapters from aliexpress at 1 usd. the only problem is that the channel pan is inverted but meh.. it was 1 usd so i can't ask much haha . my recommendation is to buy a lot of cheap adapters and use them freely without the constant fear of having just one and trying not to break it
A week? Wow. But yeah, I recently replaced the OEM adapter which looked like it was about to break. Horrible build quality on these. Does the OEM one have a built-in DAC, and do all headphone jack adapters come with one? IDK.
I bought the VOXLINK adapter thinking it would let me charge and listen to music at the same time, but when doing so, it produces a static noise over audio, so it's impossible to enjoy music unless you're listening to a loud and heavy song that muffles the static well.
Why is it so hard to find a decent USB-C headphone jack dongle. Especially with phones ditching the poor headphone jack left and right.

Link for the 6 adapters for $1?
I mean if you want a quality one. I'd buy Google's adapter
Mine died about 4 weeks after I got the phone. Bought a few adapters from xiaomi which look a lot sturdier. They were about 3€ per piece on Aliexpress.
Huh, interesting. Yeah, I have little faith in adapters that only use that soft rubbery stuff to cover cables. Google's adapter also uses that material, and it's really no good for longevity. My Voxlink adapter is still going strong, though it's way too bulky to use. So I bought a cheaper one that uses the same material for $1, and although it's slightly too long, it's sturdy. But I miss how small and compact the original LeEco adapter is.
Mine is still working, more than a year old now. Used almost every day.
Does the adapter that comes with the phone support headphones that have a 3 button control (Vol+ / Vol- / Play-Pause) and the microphone? I have ordered the phone but I am not sure if it will work with my Bose headphones that has the 3 buttons.

In case I need to buy a new adapter in the future, what is the best way to find one that will work for the Le Pro 3? I have read that some adapters work for some phones but not all. I have seen a lot of adapters that are listed to be compatible with the Pixel and Moto Z but it doesn't mention the Le Pro 3.
My adapter is perfectly fine after 8 months
Mine also works. I got the phone around November 2016.
Audio adapters, splitters or dedicated USB-C DACs known to work w/ Le Pro3?
Hey everyone, I know this thread has been inactive for two years, but has anyone tried more USB-C to 3.5mm adapters, USB-C splitters (audio jack + USB-C for charging and audio simultaneously) and/or dedicated USB-C DACs with the Le Pro3? I'm considering buying a sturdy audio adapter/splitter (like the ones from Ugreen or Baseus), or the DDHIFI TC35B, but I don't want to waste my money into something that will not work properly (or won't work at all) with the Le Pro3. From there, I ask you this question, I'd greatly appreciate if you could tell me of any adapter/splitter/DAC that's known to work with the LEX720/722/727.
Thanks in advance.
Maybe it's Stockholm syndrome.... But the included headphones sound.... AMAZING!!! my initial impression is that usb-C provides far superior sound... I can't wait for someone to do a actual comparison... Also I can't tell if it's true or not but Sam mobile claims that because they're usb-C and have a power source that Samsung secretly included active noise cancelling . Thoughts?
The headphone do sound great to be honest, also I'm surprise when I plugged them in there was a firmware update.

I didn't even try the included earbuds(usually never do). I have 3rd party 3.5 mm Hi-Res dongle which is pretty good.
If it takes firmware updates, then it reminds me of Essential phone's 3.5 mm dongle which also would update its firmware.

You solid check them out... They obviously do t compete with my over the ears... But they have to be the best sounding included earbuds I've ever used by a big margin
I haven't even unboxed my headphones yet, I'm still using the AKG's from my Note 9 with a dongle since I like the flexibility to use them with my notebook at work.
I wonder if they make a USB-c to audio dongle to make it compatible.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
I find the included headphones lacking in base and volume I'm no audiophile but the htc dongle I blight and my jvc xx earphones are way louder with more bass shame as I was hoping for the akg ones to be better this time
I like the old headphones better.
I too feel that the bass is better then the USB c version. I think they dropped the quality a tiny bit.
I don't know maybe I am OCD but I feel that old note 9 headphones are better then the new one.
I am not that bothered about it anyways. I wanna try the ear buds and just hope they are much better then the wired headphones when looking at the price.
Ps. I am not saying the new USB c headphones are bad in anyways just saying the old ones sound better in my opinion.

Hi, would you happen to know which USB C wired earphones would be compatible with a Samsung A54. Sorry if this answered elsewhere but I'm getting really confused as to which wired USB C will work and which won't ! thank you Mike

I know what you mean but I much prefer the old style "button" earphones that don't sort of intrude into your ears. Unfortunately they don't really make them anymore, they are about the nearest to it

I think Moondrop still makes Shiroyuki (Snow White) and Nameless, both are buttons, cheap, and decent sounding too, you might have to look for them ... Tho. They're so damn cheap not a lot of resaler carriers them anymore.
I also make my own button earphones They're pretty easy to work with imo, a pair of shell, a pair of drivers and a cable (w mic if you want) and just a couple solder joints.

They are both 3.5mm jack ones but you're right I could always solder button earphones on to a USB C lead.
