Hi I have now had my OPO for one year now. 3 months ago however I ruined my display due to water going in the phone, rest of phone was working fine. I brought in a new display and fixed it just yesterday. Phone's fine however I've run into one problem.
Phone charges really slowly. 5 hours for a full charge. It wasn't like that before. It used to take 5 hours only if I was using a 1A charger. But now even with OPO charger and a Sony 1.5A charger it takes the same. Previously it only took 60-90 minutes with the OPO charger.
I used the OPO Charging Current app and I'm only getting on average 300 mA while charging. Shouldn't I be getting around 2000?
help needed
Edit: I forgot to add, I was in CyanideL ROM before, thought it was a software issue, and instaleld BlissPop latest, but same on both
Guys help?
Bump for help :/

Same problem with me in each and every ROM. Never found any workarounds. So I just flashed AK kernel and increased AC Charging current to 2100mA using Synapse. Now it works alright but whenever I plug into charging I must check what current I am getting because sometimes even if I have increased it to 2100 it charges with 50-100mA. Simply reconnecting the chrger does the trick though. Also IF you dont prefer AK Kernel, latest Resurrected Kernel also has the feature, but you'll have to increase the currently manually at each boot using Terminal.

Hi All. I've been a lurker for a while but have never posted. I can't post in the beans thread until I hit my 10 post count. So here's the deal:
Verizon GS3
Unlocked bootloader
Rooted
Beans Custom ROM 10
Imo's .6 Kernel
I've run Beans version 8,9, and 10, and haven't really noticed these issues until recently. I haven't been able to fix them after trying and searching the forums, even though I've noticed a couple people with similar issues.
1) Slow Charges - I can go to sleep and plug my phone in, wake up 6 hours later and it still won't be fully charged. I could maybe get 50-60% charge. Phone will of course be off and in standby while charging. (have tried resetting battery statistics in CWM)
2) Fast charge doesn't work - I've tried opening the terminal emulator and typing in "ffc." It will tell me fast usb charging is enabled, but I will see no decrease in charge time at all. Someone on the beans thread mentioned going from 59% to 77% in 10 minutes on fast charge. I will make sure it's unplugged, run ffc, then plug it back in.
3) Overclocks won't stay. I'll run something like SetCPU and bump my max clock up to 1900 but as soon as I go to a different app or run a benchmark, I will come back and even though 1900 MHz is highlighted, 1512MHz will be the "max" setting. I've tried Antutu and quadrant. Antutu will tell me my clock is 1500 MHz after the test is run and I look at results.
4) Benchmarks suck. Now I know benchmarks don't necessarily mean anything, But it's a decent way in my opinion to compare how my phone is running to others, when they're running the same phone, rom and kernel. People running beans 10 are in the 5400-5700 range with Quadrant, while i'm in the 4000-4500 range. I ensure RAM is dumped and nothing is running while I do a benchmark test. (others are getting Antutu scores around 7500-7800, i'm getting 6600)
5) Occasional rapid battery drain. This one is a bit hit and miss, It doesn't happen all the time and I haven't been able to pinpoint a cause with it. But I will occasionally get very rapid battery drain, eg, I can just be surfing the web and lose 10% battery life within 10-15 minutes.
If anyone has any information on these, please let me know. I do apologize if fixes are common knowledge, but I have searched and haven't seen any. Although I've used droid for a while, my GS3 is my first dive into custom ROMs and the like.
Thank you for your time.
1. Any time my phone charged very slowy(turned on), all I had to do was reboot it. Now it seems different for you since you're charging it while its off. I've also found unplugging it and then plugging back in has helped when charging.
2. Never have used this so I don't know
3. Again not sure, 1500 mhz is fast enough for me lol
4. I say as long as your phone is running quick, responsive, who cares about benchmarks. They are meaningless.
5. Download either better battery stats(paid) or GSam(free) and see what is using up your battery
I haven't had any issues on Beans 10

I have this same problem and i don't think the Rom is your issue. I have mine rooted and that's all that I've changed.
Yesterday i had my phone plugged in charging for literally 8 hours and barely hit 60%
I got pretty pissed because I've noticed it for awhile. I ended up trying an old cell phone charger i had laying around. I think from the incredible. A different wire and wall plug. Within about an hour i was at 100%
Rapid drain i just have no idea. I use battery saving mode and still the battery lasts like 4 hours with light use. It's so frustrating. It looks like "android system" uses it all but i really don't know why. I've been tempted to wipe the phone and see it didn't seem to happen til i rooted.

Yeah guys those definitely aren't normal results. I would full wipe and try again.
I have actually exclaimed at the speed in which the battery charges on mine. And get around 12-14 hrs with moderate use. But I'm on synergy.
I will say there seem to be some bunk batteries getting shipped with the S3. I work as tech support for Asurion, and that's an issue I have seen more than once. And these are people that have no idea what rooting.. Or even android is. So any rom or kernel combination can be ruled out.

I flash the CM 10 Nightly build on my GS3 VZW and my battery dies but not just in the regular way. I have had my phone on the charger all day at work and instead of it charging it has been dying to the point of where it's close to zero. When I try to cut the phone off & charge it that way instead of it charging it just keeps rebooting itself. I've tried whipping every thing & i'm getting the same results. My next step is to change the roms itself & see if that does anything. I love the rom but without a battery it's no good to me. Any suggestions..?

I would go back to stock rom to see if it works, i had a similar problem and had to get my phone replaced because the battery was dead and wouldnt charge. Idk if it was something with the rom or not.
the same thing was happening to me and i thought it was the rom and/or kernel, turned out that the ac charger broke 3 weeks from when i got the phone so it wasn't charging anything
Over the time that I've owned my GS3, I've finally began to notice that it takes longer and longer to charge my S3 and it discharges pretty quickly too. Anyone have a solution to this?
NOTE: I've pulled my battery already, wiped the cache and dalvik cache, reflashed my ROM twice, flashed 3 different ROMs (which were known for battery life and let them settle for 2 days), fixed permissions, etc. I even wiped my battery stats in case that was the issue too. Still takes about 4 hours to charge my phone through a wall outlet.

Try an alternate charger?
I've noticed this as well as much as I charge my phone it will never charge anymore while using it, instead I'll lose battery little by little. I'm starting to thinking it's either the phone getting old of the battery or the mf1 rpm but if someone has mb1 and can confirm that it happens to them as well then that's knocked off.

I thought I was the only one with the battery draining issue. Lol. I think it's just the phone. I'm using the MK1 modem and it never happened in the past and now Ir's beginning to happen to me.

Finally found the cause of the problem. It wasn't the cable, but rather the connector that had the issue. I tried a connector from an LG phone (don't know which model) and it's charging my phone perfectly fine now. Mods, please lock this thread because the problem's been solved.

Batteries don;t last forever, you failed to mention how old your device is, but a Lion battery has about max, 500 cycles before its garbage. It may not die all at once, they start deteriorating and lose capacity an start to get hot when they charge. Batteries are cheap. If yours is getting old and tired, Try a new one.
There are also some apps out there that can tell you the condition of your battery.

If it really matters, the phone itself is around a year old at this point in time. Normally, I would accept that to be the case, except I've seen reports of the S3s having charging problems due to something that has to do with the charger.
Problem's already been solved though. Switched my OEM Samsung charging adaptor with an LG one and it's all good (still using the stock Samsung cable though since there no problem with it)

Few days back, my phone died even if it showed that battery has about 20%. Since then, my phone dies always near 20% charge state. Before it does, screen is flickering a little bit.
But so far I've observed, my phone runs about 1 hour and it still shows 100%. After that, it starts to drop. I've tried some calibration, but it never worked.
Do you know, how I can repair this or it's a subject for official repair? I would've tried to buy new batteries, but since it's OPO where batteries cannot be changed, or can be, but it brakes warranty so...
Thank you guys, appreciated.
How old is your OPO? What ROM did you use? Any custom kernel / details etc?
My OPO works fine on CM11 nightlies, stock kernel but rooted.
It's max 5 months old and I've never experienced such an issue. Down you have screenshot. I'm running stock ROM and everything. Hope it will help

I think you have to send it back to 0ne+ and take your warranty claim.
greetings
Same issue Here!

I have the same issue here. Bought my One on August, running stock, suddenly since a few days ago the phone goes dead on 20% or 16%.
I hope there is a solution for this, different from "send it back".

I think you might get a faulty battery. This happened with my old galaxy note too. Changed battery and every issue is gone.
Got same issue since a few days, how to manage?
has anyone tries this https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/phone-switches-off-when-at-20-low-battery.157075/
27%
Same issue started happening with me too. Phone touched 25-27% mark and goes off suddenly. It was fine from last 3 weeks and from last 2 days, it is giving me this issue. I will try doing factory reset. Hope it works.
PS: I am on stock 38R without root.
has factory reset worked?
Reset doesn't work. It's software problem. A lot people having same issue.
Mine even worst. switched off about 35%. and lasted about 12 hours stuck on 100%.
I've done flash to stock 33R, 38R. clear everything. same. doesn't help.
Open up the phone dialer: type *#*#4636#*#*
This should bring you up to a "secret" settings page. Click on battery information. There you can check battery health!
Replied to a similar thread. I experienced the same issue where it stays at 100% for hours and died around 17%. Happened twice. What I did was turned off the phone and charged it full. Turned it on, waited a couple of minutes or so before unplugging. Had to make sure all apps in the background are up. So far it it fixed the problem for me.
Hope that helps.

I've tried out an apps call "Easy Battery Calibration" can be downloaded from playstore. for rooted devices only.
After using it. it seems okay right now. 100% no longer holds up few hours. drop 2% about 1.5 hours usage.
Looks neat. still waiting for the battery depleting .

Not really. Only did it when it died at17%. There may be some app updates that causes it. In my case I think the culprit is Gsam. Cause when it updated, it messed up the calibration. But then again, it could've been other apps that updated at that time too ☺

I faced this previously. Phone died around 40%. Install battery calibration app from play store. Calibrated my batt and all ok till date. Rooted and on fk kernel back then.
here's the fix. no need to install additional app. no root needed.
NOTE: do this at night, just before you decide to go to bed.
1. let the device turns off itself. no matter at which battery level.
2. while the device is powered off, charge it for at least 6 hours. do not interrupt the charging. do not turn on the phone. and do use the original charger and cable.
3. once the phone is charged for at least 6 hours. turn it on and use it as per your usual way.
4. repeat step 1 to 3 for another 2 times. then the phone's battery calibration will be fixed.
I see you are on 38R .. Have you updated to 44?

Working. Thabks.
Wondering what caused this nevertheless.
Another issue is that never before when the battery was enpty that i saw that screen with chinese words. Is that new?
So did I understand right? The 7 Pro should be able to charge from 0-50% in 20 Minutes. Also, charging speed shouldn't be decreased while using the phone (even "Gaming"), right? As well as the heat, which shouldn't increase according to OnePlus.
Well for me, nothing of this works. In 20 minutes, while my device is shut down, it charges only from 0-38%. And the phone is very hot too. It's even worse when I use and charge my phone at the same time.
Anybody else with these issues?
Are you using the supplier charging brick AND the wire that came with your phone? Using either one that is not from OnePlus will give you shower charging speeds. I'm not sure but might also be the reason is getting hot is the OnePlus brick has all the circuitry that keeps the phone from getting hot.
Now, if you are using the brick and cable that came with the phone, i would say if your on a custom ROM out kernel or have and Magisk modules installed, to go bad to complete stock. I'd backup all files to your PC, and maybe even use the fastboot ROM to reflash all the partitions cleanly. I'd do this before trying to send it back because this is not normal for your phone. My phone never gets hot, charges insane fast while using it as well.
My guess is something is defective but a custom kernel or modules could be causing shenanigans
Thanks for answering. Yes, I use the original wire and brick. I'm also on stock Oxygen OS, with only Substratum installed.
How much percent is your 7 Pro gaining withing 20 minutes?
