Hi,
My P6200, which was running the latest build of CM12, ran out of battery a while ago, so, I charged it up fully, seeing the battery charging icon, and took it off charge. However, despite the battery icon informing me that I have a full charge, the device does not boot in to recovery, ODIN, or system. It only boots to the charger icon.
Has any one else experienced this issue? My P1000 also died recently (but it won't even charge). My P1000 booted up fine!
EDIT: the tablet will now only start on a Samsung charger, and the battery icon appears, however, it does not charge; the battery icon freezes trying to load. Download mode works, but only on the charger (so no ODIN). Nothing else works.

I've charged it for many days.
I can't access the bootloader.

I have a nexus S 4g i recently bought used and it came with "original" battery. When i plugged it in, it turned on with not problems and showed a charging icon but after 20 sec it would say CHARGED and show the battery to be at 0%. It will not charge any further even if i power down and charge or use usb, wall chargers. I removed the battery and placed it in another samsung phone and it worked, it showed the battery at 90%. What can it be? the battery? since it might not be for nexus S; can it be the kernel? I flashed the newest netarchy kernel and that did not help. I flashed a new ROM that i think includes everything and it did not detect the battery.
Also, in the Status it says battery status is FULL and battery level is 0%
Help!
Looks like your battery controller or your phone controller is not working. Have you tried using the phone? How long does it work?
How can i fix the battery controller?
Phone turns off when i remove the power supply, however when i was flashing i got the android with a triangle behind him, i removed the power supply and it stayed one using the power from the battery.

If the battery controller it's no working then you can't fix it....you can only send it to a repair center, if the phone is under the warranty period they will repair free....
Have you tried wiping battery stats?

I did reset the battery thru clockwork

Tried a different battery or changed the rom?
Yes, tried different batteries and it did not boot up. Also tried 2 different kernels, and 2 different ICS ROMS and did not work. Unrooted it and locked bootloader to bring it to stock (2.3) and it did not work. It does stay on if the initial google logo freezes and i take the charger out, the screen stays on through the battery.
Let's hope it's not the phone controller...but I would recommend trying to use another battery first or try Mugen calibration app if you're rooted.
Fixed the issue after Samsung repair declared it to water damaged. I got it back, opened it up and looked for any water damage and cleaned this little spot by scrapping of the rust???.. and it worked..

Hi,
I have recently tried out a few ROMs with my Nexus S to try to get better battery life. I tried CodeName Android and then figured I would try Slim ICS afterwards. I completely wiped everything and installed Slim ICS.
I have observed the following:
- Battery was ~40% when I installed Slim ICS
- I used it until the battery depleted
- Plugged phone into the wall charger
- Started the phone shortly afterwards (~25 minutes) and it says battery is 100% and then the phone randomly shut off
- Phone has been plugged into the wall charger and when I try to start it now sometimes it boots completely and then shuts off. Other times it just shuts off before it finishes booting up. The few times it does fully boot up, it says the battery is 100%
I've read through many postings about calibration but at this point I am not even able to fully turn on the phone even when its plugged into the wall.
Is this expected or is something else going on? I've never seen anything like this when I had the stock ICS. Why would erroneously report 100% but then not even let me fully turn on the phone? Thanks!

Maybe a bad battery?

Battery is fine. I ended up letting it charge a few hours and it now fully boots up and battery is almost fully charged now.
Whats strange is at times, when the battery was close to empty, when turned off and plugged into the wall, it showed the battery as being completely charged so I don't think it was charging. I had never observed this behavior with the stock ICS.

If it happens again I would suggest taking it to a sprint repair

same problem
Even I have faced the same problem whenever I reboot keeping my pfone charging,
This is very normal,
just let the battery drain completely and next time charge it till 100% it will work perfectly,
It happens with me whenever I install new rom.
basically the battery indicator shows incorrect status also battery will drain very quickly later but once you finish installation just let your phone charge for 3 hours . Problem will get solved

Also, you could try clearing the battery stats in clockwork mod recovery

Thanks. So it sounds like its more of a generic issue with ROMS in general as I never observed this before putting on a custom ROM.
Phone sits overnight, fully charged battery discharges from 40% to just about empty. Only in this event will the phone boot and charge as normal. Stock current rom.
Now once its on it works as normal, except that once its booted it will not power off and reboot or power cycle and reboot until it has sat for some hours.
At this point it may show a black screen, show a grey battery, show a green battery with dots under it. Unable to get it into bootloader mode without a jig.
Jig may or may not work without pulling and replacing the battery.
Flashed stock bootloaders with Odin, same thing.
Any thoughts?

Oh I did, same thing. Battery works fine in another phone.
Hey guys, I've got a bit of an issue with charging. I'm running Cataclysm ROM with FK r35 kernel with minor downgrading setups that worked perfectly well for me. So yesterday I left my phone on charge over night and woke up to find the charge stuck at 74~76percent and phone was at room temperature. Charger was plugged and in the About section it says AC charging. So I figured maybe its the kernel so I switched it off and kept it charging, but its still stops going above. When using the phone the battery charge reduces normally. Any suggestions? I thought maybe the battery's internal cycle is not in sync but there's no option to reset it.
Edit: atm I'm trying to completely drain the battery and let it charge again. Hope that will solve it.
Try a battery calibration app.

yeah, let it drain down the power it off and back on.
when you say you switched off the kernel, i'm assuming you mean you either flashed the stock kernel back or dirty flashed the rom.

i would do this as well. let it drain far enough to where android shuts it off, and then boot the device up into bootloader and/or recovery. keep it on here until the device truly hits 0%(android shuts it down at 1% i believe). then plug it in and let it charge up completely

Sorry I wrote it wrong. I meant I switched off the phone and tried charging it. ATM ive turned it on and its been charging for the past 1.5hours and its still on 16percent. Its charging extremely slow and in System Monitor app it shows that charging will complete in 3hrs39min...btw I'm using the stock charger and cable that came with it.
My phone is stuck to 0% of battery, no matter how much i charge it, it still remain at 0%.
It doesn't show up the battery charge icon, even if it's off, but the charging works because i feel the phone and the charger warm, but the led of charging doesn't show up even if the icon of the battery in navbar changes.
I already tried i clean flash, and now i flashed the last factory image, but the problem isn't gone.
There's another problem, when i shut down or i reboot the phone, it seems to die. It doesn't power up, but after some attempts keeping the power button pressed for much seconds, it finally turns on. Same for fastboot mode.
How did i arrive to this situation? I was running los14, i installed substratum, i applied 4 or 5 themes and there was no problem, till when i had a bootloop. So, i went in recovery and flashed the rom to fix the problem, but when i pressed "reboot", the phone shut down and died, and problems are begun.
One years ago i changed the battery, i still have the old one, should i try to change the battery?
Yes, try a different battery to see if that helps.
I changed battery but nothing seems changed.
It's really strange, the phone runs well anyway, i'm writing with it right now..
It's like the phone can't reach battery status. There's no app that is able to get info from battery.
Actually, something changed; when the phone is off and i plug it in charge, it shows a battery with a question mark
Sounds like the battery charging circuit
