I've been noticing an interesting problem of late with my Note 5. As most of us do, I put my phone in my front pocket when it's not in use. Since the camera now activates with a double press of the home button, I'm getting the camera activated quite a bit, which is draining the battery. Has anyone found a solution to keep this from happening? Just curious.
Shut off double tap or add a case so home button is recessed
BADASS NOTE 5 & 4 & LG G4
Go into the camera settings and turn it off

I don't know why I didn't see that option when I looked for it the other day. Silly me.

The button is so freaking sensitive. Camera took 186 pictures of my ceiling last night while I was sleeping because the pillow on the seat barley touched it. Last night I put my feet on the table and from the vibrations the camera turned on and took pictures. One point it came on and I switched to video camera to see what it's doing, and with out pressing the button the video camera would start and stop recording. I got the phone yesterday :-( I put on the pattern lock to stop it somehow but the screen still turns on and I know from my G2 that it will kill the battery no matter what you do on Android. Any help?

oright cool, thanks guys. Thought it was the whole "phone built around the camera" concept that they thought it was a good idea to be able to take picture quickly. Thanks guys.
Yeah, there's definitely something wrong with your phone.
One of the MyTouch 4Gs issues is one of it's features..
you can activate the camera, even with the screen locked by holding down the shutter button. Sure it's good for those quick shots, but it's giving you an issue.
However to have a button that sensitive is not normal, please return it and get yourself one that works.
OP, just to be clear, which button are you referring to when you say, the camera button?Do you mean the silver one on the bottom right side of the phone?
Yeah I hardly touched it and it would start the camera. I'm back to using my G2 till T-Mo loyalty sends me another new one. Thanks for the help guys.
Hello all,
Just got the SmartWatch 1 for a good price. I'm enjoying the notifications and call screening a lot.
But I can't wake the watch.
Double tapping does not work.
Having the phone on all the time while it's moving will drain the battery in 3 seconds flat.
The one where you are supposed to move the watch horizontally and the display will turn on is a joke. It simply doesn't do a thing.
A friend got his too and we have the same issues.
Other than turning it on with the power button, is there a ay to "fix" the double tapping thing?
Any help will be appreciated!
Mine does the same thing intermittently. No rhyme or reason to it. Mine was a door prize at XDA Devcon

It's strange. Yep, it'll sometimes wake up and most of the time it won't. But I have better luck tapping the strap, as someone suggested. So. Weird!
Still. This looks to me like one of the greatest stupid things ever. I mean, it doesn't do much - but in a single day, I now wonder why nobody invented it before. It rocks!
This thing is an error.
Double tap to wake function only works if the watch goes to sleep when its on the default clock screen.

I have used the power button double tap to wake up the watch and it still displays the last app that was showing.
I've done this with a few apps now.
Dear xda community,
Since I received my Nexus 5 more than a week ago I am experiencing something which keeps me thinking.
Sometimes when I want to pick up my phone to check something, the screen will wake up without me touching any buttons. Is this supposed to happen?
What's happening quite often because of that is: I want to pick up my phone -> grabbing it -> screen awakes -> but since I am pushing the power button myself half a second later -> screen turns dark again. This is a little annoying from time to time...
I tried to recreate this incident but it just happens every ~30th time. While doing this I keep attention not to hit a button accidentally.
Any Ideas whats going on? Bug or feature? Are you experiencing something similar?
Thank you and best regards!
Same thing happening with my Nexus 5. Screen opens on picking it up. It happens on randomly.
I cannot see any pattern though.
Could be a faulty power button switch? Making a connection under the movement?

It will wake up if the surface you put it on has a magnet in or near it. It's the hall effect sensor that does this, used for a cases that wake up the device when opened

Are you using a Custom rom?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
There are some custom ROM/Kernel combo's which give the option to wake the phone by double tapping the screen. However this isn't present in stock. As some have already said the phone will wake if placed near a magnet, if I put my N5 on top my iPad it wakes when I pick it up. If none of these apply its probably faulty.
My lock button started getting flimsy for a few days after I got my phone. First it would get every other button press and then it stopped working all together. Then the fingerprint sensor went out on it.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Now the phone battery died and it won't power on.
FML
Well I think i found a way to get it to boot!
1 Press and hold power button.
3 Remove battery.
2 Slap that battery back in and boom the phone boots!
My finger print sensor has been inconsistent

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not:
During initial setup, I chose the minimum edge sense force, because it still seemed to take a pretty good squeeze.
Yesterday, at one point, the sensitivity went off the charts. It took maybe 1/10th the normal force to activate it. I think the phone was pretty hot from being outside and shooting some 4k video.
The other thing I see happen seems lag related. The short squeeze to launch camera works very fast most times. But on occasion, it takes a while to get the camera up and running. Once or twice, the lag has made a short squeeze register as a long one.
Also, it seems odd to me that a long squeeze to launch Google assistant (screen off) gets trapped at the lock screen and requires a fingerprint scan / pin. Not very convenient.

The edge sense does not work . Turn it off . My jeans triggers it, pretty stupid
The phone is crazy hot. Yes.
I'm keeping it on. Hopefully, they will improve it. It's very useful in my eyes.

It's a little handier turning on flashlight at night by just squeezing rather than turning on phone, pulling down notification bar, and selecting the light. I find it useful.

I've had no issues here yet (touch wood)
Even after bumping up the force level, my ability to launch the camera from a sleeping phone is hit or miss.
Quite often I'm giving it a short press, but it doesn't register the release. I feel it vibrate the second time, indicating a long press, but then it prompts to release the edge sense to take action.

Could be an issue with how he phone handles waking up from Doze...
Where should we report things like this in hopes of them being fixed? Does HTC have a dev site?
