Hey guys,
I need a CWM flashable file of Indian GB modem. I just want to flash modem, I'm already on the stock Indian ROM.
My cell has been USB Bricked, so I am not able to use Odin to flash anything. I have restored CWM backup of my country's stock ROM [India]. But the modem is still XXLQ3 from the ICS. I want to change it to stock Indian one.
I tried following couple of tutorials to make such files in Galaxy S2 section. But they didn't really work for me. So can any dev or anyone who knows about this can make me a CWM flashable Modem of Indian stock ROM?
Here's modem.bin from Indian stock ROM if anyone needs:-
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3s9jvbrnqt2k2i0/modem.bin
I want to get my cell repaired ASAP. So please, try to make it as quick as possible.
Thanks in advance.

Anyone, including yourself notice any benefit just flashing the modem until NE9 is updated onto roms?
Thank you for this.
Confused a little. So i shouldnt flash the full ne9 tar if I am on ncg retail/ricks rom? Seems like it would save some steps (I.e. flashing, rooting, reflashing kernal, etc.).
And I should I follow the guides to upgrade to ne9?

Currently on the new ota update the Bootloader was not revisioned so we can go back and forth between NCG and NE9 Firmware/Full Tars.
in the future Verizon/Samsung will most likely Increment the bootloader making downgrading impossible

I can confirm this, I just flashed the NE9 tar and flashed back to NCG to root and then back to NE9 with no problems.
Excuse the noob here...
So you can't just Odin the NCG file, take the OTA, reroot and install safe strap?

no safestrap doesnt allow any partitions to be updated other than data or system. its a festure to rprevent bricks because of our locked bootloader.

you could but that would be more work. if u currently have ne9 or ncg installed arleady and safestrap just flash ne9 rom of choice and then flash the ne9 firmware only tar via odin

So why do you have to flash the ne9 firmware if your already on ne9. That's where I'm getting confused. Thanks for any help.

Thanks sir. I'm actually not on it yet. I'm just trying to understand the concepts here. It seems I keep seeing people say to flash the firmware even if your on ne9. Or maybe there was a problem getting root on ne9. Idk. I guess I'm just old fashioned and think taking the OTA is best lol. But I think I get it now and what you have supplied us with here is actually easier and works. Thanks I'll try it.
I'm running NCG/Xposed with update and security notifications frozen via TiBu. Has anyone noticed any benefit to using the new modems? Which line in Odin should be used to flash the modem?
FYI
Flashed the NE9 modem on my Dev edition. Baseband still says NCG after trying twice. Used Odin 3.07 first time in 'phone', and Odin 3.09 second time in 'AP'. Left Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked.
Third time I followed the battery pull instructions and it worked! Thanks for that disclaimer!!!!
So under About Phone it says my Baseband Version is NE9 but it says my Base Rom Version is NCG.. Which Odin Stock Full Tar file do I download and flash? I'm on Alliance of course but I have to return my phone to Verizon and want to make sure nothing looks sketchy.

So I flash the NE9 Full Stock Tar and now my Lockscreen and Status bar wont show up? What is happening :crying:
Has anyone tried to flash the INT version system.img to LS996?
I remember flashing G Flex1 with any tot or KDZ without bricking the phone.
I wanted to know if any mod or standard user has tried to flash any variants system.img or rootedsystem.img to LS996.
Would be interesting cause when I crosdll´d the Flex1 (ls995) I had to flash back only boot and modem imgs to make things work.
If someone has a spare phone or wants to try it out it would be cool to let me know!
Thanks in advance.
I have a SM-J327T from tmobile and I have an idea for root but I need the stock sboot and stock system files in an odin flashable format.
