Samsung Galaxy S4 will support wireless charging. And a the wireless charger will cost $59.99. The charger is said to hit stores in April.
The i9500 has extra connections for both NFC and wireless charging, only the i9502 or may be service provider models such as sprint or verizon may have them removed.
Will the wireless charging enabled battery cover (which will be required alongside the charging pad) add much (if any?) thickness to the phone?

I think it's best to wait for the actual release of the phone first, as the wireless charging has not been officially released or confirmed yet for the s4

Found an answer to my question here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OKgeZPyiHo
If it has the Qi standard, I think Lumia and N4's wireless charging dock might also work for GS4.

maybe it will support gs3 too.
(that sounds great)
Does anyone have an update on the Qi charging accessory? I haven't seen it available online anywhere.
This is what I found in a local hong kong magazine.
top price for transmitter, and bottom price for the receiver battery cover.
I bought a Palm pixie charging kit for my S3. Since the phone got stolen late last year, I still got the kit unused.
Gonna try it on the S4!

I'm really starting to worry about the wireless charging accessories for the S4.. Mentioned quite a bit in the leadup to device release, then suddenly quiet.. Deja vu - the exact same thing happened with the S3, and there's still not an official wireless charger available for that.

In some mobile accessories online shop I did see it, for example the PhoneHouse does sell it now since the launching day of the phone. At least in the Spanish PhoneHouse Shop

Sorry for the gap from the url, new in the forum.
Been looking for a spare charger for work and the s2 one is about £25.
Was in a retailer who had the s6 wireless charger £25 on a display stand tried my s7 which worked then thought try my s2 which worked perfectly soon as I dropped it on the charger.
In the past heard people say the s2 won't work with.
I bought one direction from Amazon works fine on everything except my s2, wondering if it's fake or the charger doesn't always work with the s2.
Anyone tried it on there s2 ?

Mine doesn't work either. It keeps going charging and stopping no matter what position I place the s2 on the pad.
Was your a standard charger or fast charger (new desktop style) ?
I ordered and testing a new style fast charger, that does not work also.
Went into two Carphone Warehouse tested the display standard charger, 1 worked 1 did not.
Interestingly though the S2 always works on the Belkin Qi charger
There was a thread on this a year ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/help/gear-s2-charger-compatibility-t3221837
The bottom line is that standard Qi chargers can be made to sort-of-work with careful positioning, but they eventually overheat the watch or just stop charging. You can get yourself a little charge from some standard chargers in a pinch, but the S2 is basically not compatible with any but S2 specific chargers (and there are 3rd party S2 chargers that are pretty cheap).

Mine is Samsung wireless fast charger (horizontal). I also tried the QiStone+ but same thing happened (nonstop charging and discharging right away) The watch got hot so I assume it may harm the battery life
I've been seeing conflicting information about wireless charging specs the S10 supports. Has anyone compared a 2.0 spec pad vs the previous Fast Charge models? I've been using the one below for my S7, not sure it's even worthwhile to upgrade. Any thoughts?

I have one. I also have the previous version. The new one - 2.0 is about 22-25% faster according to my observations.

Thank you, sir. Still waiting for TWRP/root on the S10e before I replace my rooted S7, but good to see there is some improvement in charging speed. I gave my spare S7 to a friend, so maybe I'll upgrade and give him my current pads when the S10e finally is onboard.
My fast wireless chargers work fine with my S10+. The Samsung ones from my S7 edge fast wireless charge my S10+. I have no need to buy more or new wireless chargers.
I saw a video on YouTube where the wireless fast charge 2.0 was 3 minutes shower than wired (yes WIRED) starting from 60% charge. Now, this is what the phone was telling him from the notification that pops up while charging, he didn't actually time it. Wireless fast charge 2.0 said 53 minutes until fully charged and wired fast charge said 50 minutes.

Thanks, that's encouraging. It's a letdown that Samsung has not improved wired charging, AFAIK since the S7. But since the vast majority of my charging is done via wireless, this looks like a worthwhile bump in speed.
I just got a Note 20 Ultra and the wireless fast charger I've been using (including on S20+) will not work. I get a notification that says: Fast wireless charging unavailable. This fast wireless charger isn't compatible with your phone, so you're charging at standard speed.
This is just all kinds of annoying because I have lots of third party wireless chargers and it seems like Samsung is pulling an Apple move by making people use their own accessories. Is there some way around this so that I can fast charge with the chargers I have? This is the kind of thing that pushed me away from Apple and Samsung is doing more and more of that same kind of crap. Not sure I want to keep this phone if I have to replace all my chargers too. Especially considering how expensive Samsung chargers are.
Figured I would try, do you have fast wireless turned on?

If so try toggling it on/off 3 times.

It's an update Samsung sent out, no more fast charging with 3rd party chargers, only genuine Samsung chargers can fast wireless charge now (So I've read)
Not true. You can still fast charge on third party chargers you just have to find one that works. I had to try different one till i found one that worked. Also look at reviews and see if anyone confirms it working on a note 20 ultra

Samsung may have tighten the protocols because of 3rd party chargers causing undesirable issues rather than malicious exclusion.
If the charger/cable meet the protocols they should work.
With the newer fast charging I just stick to OEM. With the wattage and heat on these phones it is better to mitigate any risk.
fast charging (~10W) is super old now and it's sad Samsung is so behind competition. Anyways, i have collected many Qi chargers in time and I can promise you: Note20 or recent Samsungs will rarely work with 3rd party chargers. No 15W, no 10W, just good ol' 5W (4+ hours). Frequently even 0 watts (including Samsung chargers!). It's like Oneplus charging - least compatible of all, and there's just one 3rd party cable and one usb tester that works. The charging wars continue. Samsung customer is always the loser. Samsung customer has to fight and pay a lot to get laughable "fast" wireless charging like it was 2017. Same with wired charging..
Bringing this thread back from the dead ..... not long got a Note 20 (refurbished) and starting to get annoyed at the way my car charger won't actually charge the phone - just maintain it's charge level. The same charger will charge a Note 9 and an S7 much faster. I've read that Sammie managed to put out an update to stop 3rd party chargers working so well and see pointers to chargers that will work but has anyone managed to figure out a software fix for the issue? As in any devs. managed to figure out how to get around the issue?

If the display is on it will charge slowly or not at all, fast charging will not engage. If too hot charging may slow or disengage.
If too cold fast charging will not engage.
All in order to protect the Li from plating or worse.

Not too hot or cold, nothing to do with the problem I'm seeing.
Hi everyone,
i've recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S21 and are having issues with my car's 10W QI wireless charger. Every time i place my phone on the charger i get the following error message:
"wireless fast charger is not compatible with your phone so you are charging at the standard speed" and pauses charge shortly after due to high temperature. My old phone, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, fast charged perfectly. And it can't be a matter of compatibility because both devices, charger and phone, are registered on
https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/
since they are both certified with QI standard.
I've done some googleing and it seems that this problem appeared after updating to One UI 3.1 since it worked perfectly with One UI 3.0. Samsung doesn't recognize this issue and many people think that its willingly blocking wireless fast charge with third party chargers. So what do you guys think? could it be? I bet that if there actually were a block, many people on this forum are skilled enough to remove it
