F2FS Option in TWRP Missing - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My favorite ROM (AICP) just added support for f2fs and I wanna give it a try after reading some good things about it. When I went to change the file system the F2FS option was not there. I read a thread saying to push mkfs.f2fs to /sbin but it is already there. I have the latest TWRP 2.8.7. Does anyone know the problem?

I flash ktoonsez twrp 2.8.6 and the option is there! I'd like to have the bug fixes introduced in 2.8.7 though so after I convert I'm gonna try to update it and I'll repot back.

CWM 3+ / Edify compatible DK28 mods - Updated 13 Jan 2011

Gents,
This didn't take much effort, but I wanted to provide it since I think others can benefit from it.
The updated mods are available at http://android.linuxkidd.com/edify/ due to the size restrictions of attachments here at XDA. These are compatible with both the older Clockwork Mod versions as well as with the new 3.0.0.x which only supports Edify scripting.
I have flashed and verified the aosplock.zip to be 100% functional.
The remaining files have been modified in the same way, but were not tested. Any reports regarding errors received during the flashing process are desired.
NOTE: Original credit for these mods go to Dameon87 and were downloaded from his google code site, then modified with the new scripting.
All available mods:
Code:
297411 Jan 13 20:44 aosplock.zip
4644739 Jan 13 20:44 huluflash.zip
10191121 Jan 13 20:44 samapps.zip
11931285 Jan 13 20:44 samwidgets.zip
7692093 Jan 13 20:44 sprintapps.zip
1453370 Jan 13 20:44 stockemail.zip
Installation Instructions
----------------------------------
* adb reboot recovery
* Flash the Zip file(s)
* Reboot
If you don't get any errors during the flashing of the Zip files, then all should be fine. If for some reason, the desired outcome is not obtained, please post to this thread. However, keep in mind... I simply updated the installation script for the add-ons. I did not create the add-ons. Hopefully, someone from the community can help figure out where things went wrong.
Enjoy!
LK
--- NOTE: These have been updated as of Jan 13 to correct the installation script. Please report on the new format.
Nice! I'm stoked on this.
Umm this is weird...are there prerequisites for this?
I'm still running di18, still on rfs, rooted with baked snack and app2sd (the whole paritioned sd card thing). I wanted to try out the hulu. Flashed with cwm, nothing failed...but I can't find it anywhere. Is the app2sd messing it up? Its not in system/app, system/sd/app, or system/data

These mods are specifically targeted at DK28 ROMs, so your milage may vary.
Aside from that, there won't be anything noticable on the device. But, if you browse to Hulu ( make sure you have Plugins turned completely ON, and not 'On-Demand' in the browser ), you should be able to watch Hulu content.

tried the hulu flash but when i opened it, there was a message that said that hulu is working on providing streaming to mobile phones and that its not supported on my phone as of now? it was after installing the huluflash
I am on Quantum Rom v2.7.0.DK28 via CWM 3.0.0.5. I just attempted the hulu flash mod and it doesn't seem to work. I did make sure that flash updates were uninstalled, auto updates turned off, plugins set to always on, and Dolphin browser HD User Agent was set to Desktop.
There was no error during the flash. I got:

I just tried aosp lockscreen and samapps and both did not work. It said install complete but cw 3005 did not automatically reboot. It just said installation complete. I had to reboot manually and when phone started no change to lockscreen and samapps were not installed.

On another note, I also flashed the AOSPLock, but my lock screen did not change upon reboot. Anything else that needs to be done (like the Hulu install)?

FAQS
Q. Does this app support multiple zip queues?
A. As of version 5.2 it does
Q. Should I wipe/backup before installing?
A. The app is intuitive and allows for backup and wiping from the install option.
Q. Some of the features do not work, what should I do?
A. If you get a message that says it is not implemented, it is not a bug. That is for future releases. If you get a force close or other issue, please let us know.
Q. Will this work with other recoveries?
A. No. TWRP Manager is programmed to run on TWRP only
Q. My device is not supported by TWRP, is there anything I can do?
A. If you do not have TWRP running on your phone, this app will not work for you.
Q. Will this app install TWRP for me?
A. There are no current plans to have this feature. Goo.im already does this and we do not want to step on any toes.
Awesome job, the UI looks great also!
Good job JMZ!!!
Great job it looks better and is more functional than goomanager.

[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.6.0.0 for Evita

First off All Credit for this Recovery goes to Team Win who does Amazing work in writing recoveries and in keeping our Devices alive.
Well i Didnt see a thread for this but TeamWin has Released Recovery Version 2.6.0.0 for the HTC Evita and i thought i would start this Thread letting everyone know that it was Updated. If You are interested it can be downloaded from http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/evita/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-evita.img
What's new in 2.6.0.0:
Special Note: If you are running a custom theme, some of the changes in 2.6.0.0 will likely not be visible with your custom theme.
Can encrypt a backup to prevent theft of private data from your backup files
Updated graphics / icon courtesy of shift
Updated exFAT to latest commits
Fixed a problem with Samsung TouchWiz decryption
Update SuperSU binary
Fixed saving of backup partitions list
Fixed saving of last used zip install folder
Fixed backup of datadata on devices that use a separate partition for datadata
Fixed some issues with the advanced wipe list (android_secure, can now wipe internal storage on data/media deivces and wipe data on the advanced list no longer formats the entire data partition)
Fixed some problems with partitioning a SD card
Various other bug fixes and tweaks
Notes about encrypted backups:
Why encrypt your backups? -- Most people store their backups on the device. Any app that has permission to access storage could potentially read your backup files and try to harvest your data. Encrypted backups also provide an added layer of security if you move your backups to other storage devices or to the cloud. The encryption that we're using is probably not strong enough for enterprise level security, but should be strong enough to make it significantly difficult to get to your data.
Encryption is using OpenAES which uses AES 128-bit cbc encryption. If you happen to use a longer password (over 16 characters) then the encryption strength improves to 192 or 256 bits. Do not forget your password. If you forget your password you will be unable to restore your backup. We don't encrypt the entire backup. Encryption is very CPU intensive and can be fairly slow even when we spread the workload over multiple cores even on the latest high-end devices. To ensure that encrypted backups don't take forever, we don't encrypt any other partitions besides /data and in /data we don't encrypt /data/app (or other app related directories where apks are stored) and we don't encrypt dalvik cache.
Note to Mods if this is under the wrong Section please feel free to move to the Proper Category.

Yes, it should make it more stable. Let's not forget the TWRP is used on a variety of devices with Android versions from 4.0.x to 4.3 and the last version of SuperSU, 1.55, is supposed to be more stable on Android 4.3. Another important thing is the idea of the SuperSU in the TWRP recovery is to provide an easy way to root a ROM when one can flash custom recoveries. Consequently, one can root the ROM with a more stable version of SuperSU.
One more thing: why don't you use the official thread dedicated to the TWRP recovery for HTC One XL?

[Q] TWRP shows 0 MB Internal storage, cannot mount Data

My Nexus 5 is running Cyanogenmod 11 and seems to be working just fine. However, when I get a prompt to install a Cyanogenmod update, the phone reboots to recovery, attempts to install the update, and fails. I have found that this seems to be caused TWRP showing 0 MB internal storage and not being able to mount Data. Again, the phone works fine except for this weirdness.
I should also add that it does strange things after I reboot from recovery. First, the Phone app continually stopped, then was fine a while after. Then Google Play Services was constantly crashing, so I uninstalled the updates and it started working. And finally, Cyanogenmod gave the initial setup screen the last time I rebooted from recovery, though it only went through language and time zone.
As a final note, I don't really know a whole lot about Android in terms of the more advanced things, so try to keep any suggestions relatively noob friendly. Thanks.
Please can you open the zip you're flashing and get the updater-script from meta-inf/com/Google/android, rename to a .txt file and upload here?
I think cm updates are using wrong /sdcard location.

[H918] TWRP Flashable Stock Firmwares

with little to no activity lately for the LGV20, specifically the H918 T-Mobile variant I decided to look into creating a TWRP flashable package for the recent H91810k release. these zips flash every partition included in the latest KDZ package with the exception of recovery to keep TWRP. standard disclaimer applies, you do all of this at YOUR OWN risk! I've tested this on my device after backing up and so far so good on the latest 10k release. please report back in this thread on whether it was successful or not.
NOTE: you can find the partitions that will be flashed in the updater-script. to be extra cautious you can back up all of the partitions that will be overwritten with the following: dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/{partition} of=/external_sd/backup/{partition}.img.
Instructions:
download H91810k.zip file listed below and put on microSD card
backup any data from internal "SD card"
boot into TWRP (requires TWRP recovery to already be installed)
create a TWRP backup of the device
flash zip from microSD card by using "Install"
flash your choice of root, either Magisk or SuperSU *Note: v12.0 of Magisk does not work with the LGV20 device in general and v11.6 is recommended.
reboot
profit!
Download:
H91810k
md5sum: ab181ec82315b656a7af48f0017f4e8c - version 1 with misc partition included (SORRY)
md5sum: 8ad07ae70c4299b3ea6e2bf747dbec1c - version 2 with misc partition removed
Flashing Process:
flash necessary partition images with the exception of recovery (to keep TWRP) from the KDZ
rename /system/recovery-from-boot.p to /system/recovery-from-boot.bak to prevent stock recovery from being installed on boot
wipes dalvik-cache and cache
BIG thanks to @McNutnut on guidance, as well as his script to put all of this together!
also thanks to @bullghost for the KDZ extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575)
@Tilde88 for the original updater-script template w/root (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/us996-nrd90m-modded-notsostock-rom-v5-1-t3526542)
First! This is sweet!
I just tried this and it works great. I prefer to use the stock rom and to get a rooted 10k that doesn't have any known security vulnerabilities is awesome. Some notes for others:
Copy SuperSU to the external SD card and flash it after this zip in TWRP.
Make sure to select all the partitions for back up in TWRP.
On the first boot after flashing, the phone will reboot by itself. This is probably normal. You will get an "Android is upgrading..." white screen. This is expected since the cache was wiped by the script. This will take a while to complete. Even when you get back into the system, an "Android is upgrading..." message will appear in the notification bar.
Clarification: The data on /sdcard doesn't get wiped, but it's a good idea to back it up just in case. The TWRP backup of the data partition does NOT include this stuff in the backup.
I had Busybox installed before, but I didn't have to reinstall it after the flash. I'm not sure why. I assumed that wiping out system would have required me to re-install Busybox. I guess Busybox doesn't get installed on the system partition?
Adblocking using apps like AdAway need to be rerun since the hosts.txt file will be reset.
Ignore the stuff under "Process" in the OP. It's explaining what the script does. You don't have to do any of that.
The script disables the updater software. You never have to worry about the next stock release causing you trouble!

You did something other than flash the rom in this thread. Maybe you're confusing this thread with this one? https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/t-mobile-lgv20-h91810k-kdz-t3618021
If that's what you flashed, you will definitely end up with stock recovery and no root.
I've tried to install this ROM but it skips through each of partition rather quickly and it never installs. I'm on H91810j with root and TWRP installed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you have an external MicroSD card installed in your phone? Are you using that external MicroSD card to store the files to be flashed? What version of TWRP are you using?
Yep, on microsd. TWRP 3.0.2-1
OP says 10k, but you're on 10j?
Correct, currently on 10j

I would verify the md5sum of the downloaded file you have to what it should be, which is ab181ec82315b656a7af48f0017f4e8c

Hmm...the zip I downloaded has a checksum of 76bbccc0c9640d7f0005b529abf3873a and it uncompresses without issue!? Was there an earlier release?
Going to download again...

Can you provide more detail on what you did? You made a pretty strong statement that you lost TWRP.
Did you follow and flash what was written by the OP? Did you do flash something else after flashing what was provided by the OP? Or did you really have TWRP the whole time?
Not looking to cause an an argument but your 2 posts in this thread have made me hesitate flashing.
