My Nexus 5 is running Cyanogenmod 11 and seems to be working just fine. However, when I get a prompt to install a Cyanogenmod update, the phone reboots to recovery, attempts to install the update, and fails. I have found that this seems to be caused TWRP showing 0 MB internal storage and not being able to mount Data. Again, the phone works fine except for this weirdness.
I should also add that it does strange things after I reboot from recovery. First, the Phone app continually stopped, then was fine a while after. Then Google Play Services was constantly crashing, so I uninstalled the updates and it started working. And finally, Cyanogenmod gave the initial setup screen the last time I rebooted from recovery, though it only went through language and time zone.
As a final note, I don't really know a whole lot about Android in terms of the more advanced things, so try to keep any suggestions relatively noob friendly. Thanks.
Please can you open the zip you're flashing and get the updater-script from meta-inf/com/Google/android, rename to a .txt file and upload here?
I think cm updates are using wrong /sdcard location.

Here's a log.
Should also mention that, since posting this thread, the details of the issue seem to have changed. TWRP now shows the proper amount of space rather than 0MB and is able to mount all partitions. At this point, installing the update just fails for some reason.

Gents,
This didn't take much effort, but I wanted to provide it since I think others can benefit from it.
The updated mods are available at http://android.linuxkidd.com/edify/ due to the size restrictions of attachments here at XDA. These are compatible with both the older Clockwork Mod versions as well as with the new 3.0.0.x which only supports Edify scripting.
I have flashed and verified the aosplock.zip to be 100% functional.
The remaining files have been modified in the same way, but were not tested. Any reports regarding errors received during the flashing process are desired.
NOTE: Original credit for these mods go to Dameon87 and were downloaded from his google code site, then modified with the new scripting.
All available mods:
Code:
297411 Jan 13 20:44 aosplock.zip
4644739 Jan 13 20:44 huluflash.zip

7692093 Jan 13 20:44 sprintapps.zip
1453370 Jan 13 20:44 stockemail.zip
Installation Instructions
----------------------------------
* adb reboot recovery
* Flash the Zip file(s)
* Reboot
If you don't get any errors during the flashing of the Zip files, then all should be fine. If for some reason, the desired outcome is not obtained, please post to this thread. However, keep in mind... I simply updated the installation script for the add-ons. I did not create the add-ons. Hopefully, someone from the community can help figure out where things went wrong.
Enjoy!
LK

Nice! I'm stoked on this.

I'm still running di18, still on rfs, rooted with baked snack and app2sd (the whole paritioned sd card thing). I wanted to try out the hulu. Flashed with cwm, nothing failed...but I can't find it anywhere. Is the app2sd messing it up? Its not in system/app, system/sd/app, or system/data

These mods are specifically targeted at DK28 ROMs, so your milage may vary.
Aside from that, there won't be anything noticable on the device. But, if you browse to Hulu ( make sure you have Plugins turned completely ON, and not 'On-Demand' in the browser ), you should be able to watch Hulu content.

tried the hulu flash but when i opened it, there was a message that said that hulu is working on providing streaming to mobile phones and that its not supported on my phone as of now? it was after installing the huluflash
I am on Quantum Rom v2.7.0.DK28 via CWM 3.0.0.5. I just attempted the hulu flash mod and it doesn't seem to work. I did make sure that flash updates were uninstalled, auto updates turned off, plugins set to always on, and Dolphin browser HD User Agent was set to Desktop.
There was no error during the flash. I got:

On another note, I also flashed the AOSPLock, but my lock screen did not change upon reboot. Anything else that needs to be done (like the Hulu install)?

Hi!
I've a big problem...
My nexus 5 configuration: TWRP recovery - Root privileges - Android 4.2.2
The smartphone notified me the availability of Android 4.3.3. I accepted and the package has been downloaded. The phone has rebooted, but there was no trace of the installation. The phone is divided into TWRP recovery.
I rebooted the system from recovery. The system is still Android 4.2.2 and tells me that the system is updated. In fact he says "last update check xx.xx" (where xx.xx is the hour).
Do you have suggestions on how to proceed?
You're my only hope!!

Nope. It was actually something in android itself. Had to change the default app install location from Auto to Internal using the terminal. Since the nexus 5 doesnt have and external SD, apps cant be installed on it but sometimes androids "Auto" install location doesnt work and tries to install apps into the external sd card. Thats why the app installs fail.

I used the TWRP app which downloaded and flashed the correct version for me automatically.
The app is however slightly confusing to use!
You need to click on the + icon to get at the options.
with little to no activity lately for the LGV20, specifically the H918 T-Mobile variant I decided to look into creating a TWRP flashable package for the recent H91810k release. these zips flash every partition included in the latest KDZ package with the exception of recovery to keep TWRP. standard disclaimer applies, you do all of this at YOUR OWN risk! I've tested this on my device after backing up and so far so good on the latest 10k release. please report back in this thread on whether it was successful or not.
NOTE: you can find the partitions that will be flashed in the updater-script. to be extra cautious you can back up all of the partitions that will be overwritten with the following: dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/{partition} of=/external_sd/backup/{partition}.img.
Instructions:
download H91810k.zip file listed below and put on microSD card
backup any data from internal "SD card"
boot into TWRP (requires TWRP recovery to already be installed)
create a TWRP backup of the device
flash zip from microSD card by using "Install"
flash your choice of root, either Magisk or SuperSU *Note: v12.0 of Magisk does not work with the LGV20 device in general and v11.6 is recommended.
reboot
profit!
Download:
H91810k
md5sum: ab181ec82315b656a7af48f0017f4e8c - version 1 with misc partition included (SORRY)
md5sum: 8ad07ae70c4299b3ea6e2bf747dbec1c - version 2 with misc partition removed
Flashing Process:
flash necessary partition images with the exception of recovery (to keep TWRP) from the KDZ
rename /system/recovery-from-boot.p to /system/recovery-from-boot.bak to prevent stock recovery from being installed on boot
wipes dalvik-cache and cache
BIG thanks to @McNutnut on guidance, as well as his script to put all of this together!
also thanks to @bullghost for the KDZ extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575)
@Tilde88 for the original updater-script template w/root (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/us996-nrd90m-modded-notsostock-rom-v5-1-t3526542)
First! This is sweet!
I just tried this and it works great. I prefer to use the stock rom and to get a rooted 10k that doesn't have any known security vulnerabilities is awesome. Some notes for others:
Copy SuperSU to the external SD card and flash it after this zip in TWRP.
Make sure to select all the partitions for back up in TWRP.
On the first boot after flashing, the phone will reboot by itself. This is probably normal. You will get an "Android is upgrading..." white screen. This is expected since the cache was wiped by the script. This will take a while to complete. Even when you get back into the system, an "Android is upgrading..." message will appear in the notification bar.
Clarification: The data on /sdcard doesn't get wiped, but it's a good idea to back it up just in case. The TWRP backup of the data partition does NOT include this stuff in the backup.
I had Busybox installed before, but I didn't have to reinstall it after the flash. I'm not sure why. I assumed that wiping out system would have required me to re-install Busybox. I guess Busybox doesn't get installed on the system partition?
Adblocking using apps like AdAway need to be rerun since the hosts.txt file will be reset.
Ignore the stuff under "Process" in the OP. It's explaining what the script does. You don't have to do any of that.
The script disables the updater software. You never have to worry about the next stock release causing you trouble!
I am having problems downloading this? I tried twice and it downloads but I cant find it?

pretty sure if that's the case then YOU did something wrong... the recovery image is NOT in this package at all so TWRP is left untouched.

You did something other than flash the rom in this thread. Maybe you're confusing this thread with this one? https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/t-mobile-lgv20-h91810k-kdz-t3618021
If that's what you flashed, you will definitely end up with stock recovery and no root.
I've tried to install this ROM but it skips through each of partition rather quickly and it never installs. I'm on H91810j with root and TWRP installed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yep, on microsd. TWRP 3.0.2-1

Can you provide more detail on what you did? You made a pretty strong statement that you lost TWRP.
Did you follow and flash what was written by the OP? Did you do flash something else after flashing what was provided by the OP? Or did you really have TWRP the whole time?
Not looking to cause an an argument but your 2 posts in this thread have made me hesitate flashing.
