Moto Stock Camera vs CM12.1 Camera - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was curious, do we lose photo quality when using cm12.1?
I remember on my LG Optimus L90, the camera quality went sour after leaving stock, photos looked more blah and grainy.
Is that the same case on the Moto G 3rd gen?
I really love the camera on here and would hate to lose its quality aha.
Thanks in advance ?

You can test it your self, just take some photo's with stock cam and than switch over to cyanogenmod or any other rom
and take the same picturs. than just compare them

There was a port of stock Motorola Camera and Gallery app to CM12 in this forum somewhere and people say it give stock camera quality
EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/port-motorola-camera-gallery-to-cm12-t3201199

Hi, I simply installed from the play store the Motorola camera on the CM 12.1 and now on the unstable CM13.
I used Open Camera on the moto g 2013, but on the 2015 the Motorola camera has a better feeling. There also a lot of options with the debug button.

I couldn't make out any difference between the stock and CM image quality. Similar results for me. YMMV.

[Q] Better camera app for the stock JB rom while keeping the original. KitKat APK?

Hi. Is there any official or unofficial camera app or apk that can coexist with the stock Razr HD 4.1 camera app and that at the same time improve on its shortcomings (ie it's better)?
The Razr HD's camera app is sloooooooooow, and also takes ugly pictures in many conditions. I think it might a problem with the software and not the sensor, given how the Moto X and the Nexus 5 had picture quality problems before some updates fixed them. I would be happy with a KitKat camera apk that doesn't overwrite the stock one, or a 3rd party camera app.
The reason I don't want the original camera to be overwritten is that I'm about to travel, and I don't want to be messing with the phone at this point and risking having no working camera app whatsoever because of the thinkering. I don't know if the AOSP KitKat or Moto X apks that are in this forum would replace the Razr HD's camera (I think it is moto software, not AOSP), or create problems for other software. But I'm not sure, I have very little experience messing with android.
Thanks!

Beware, that file has A LOT of positives in virustotal: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/...3b3bb952143dd9a1e6efa5f597350936a35/analysis/
It really seems an ugly malware, if inconsecuential for the non china mobile users: http://www.securityweek.com/resilient-smszombie-infects-500000-android-users-china (IF it isn't an updated strand)

G Pro 2 vs G3 camera

I have search alot for an comparison between G Pro 2 and G3's camera, but havent find anything
Wounder if someone here know if there are any test on the web?
I've had both phones and I prefer the GP2 camera. Actually it was one of the reasons why I stayed on the GP2 and sold the G3. Images are more clear on the GP2 camera, especially in low light conditions, while in day light they look the same. Same thing for the videos.

The lollipop update makes video recording terrible especially in low light and interior conditions it,s grainy when with kitkat was wonderful, moreover the mode live effects is missed.

Ok, strange. An idea then is to skip the update and keep the phone running Kitktat?
Maybe using the Camera FV-5 can fix the solution?
Are the Camera FV-5 compatible with G Pro 2?

Panaroma shots taken on moto x play

Hi all,
I have attached a few of the shots taken on my Moto x play running Android nougat 7.1.1 on Resurrection Remix 5.8.0. I was always let down by the phone in 2 Dept. Camera -for no camera api2 and panaroma shots. Battery- not good with such a huge battery pack.
Today I took some time out, and tried to explore the camera apps with panaroma shots. And to my surprise, only one app made me rethink abt it.
I used snap camera, Moto z camera, cm camera baked in the ROM and finally HTC camera app.
Please let me know abt it, and share your thoughts.
Hit thanks if helped.
Cheers
Please provide link for htc camera!!!

I find taking a series of photos and letting Google Photos stitch them together works the best, the in camera panoramas are terrible and very compressed.
Clearly this cant been seen in a resized image but the full size version of this image is nearly 17,000 pixels wide.
How
