Thanks to @touch of jobo for the tool (http://jobiwan.net:81/bootsplash-m8) used to create a new updated splash screen, expecially for the Google Edition M8.
Having a full converted M8 to Google Play Edition using @graffixnyc's RUU means you have 100% a GPE phone with all the partition in the device flashed as the original phone in your Internationl variant.. one of those partition is the bootsplash screen, that one that comes before the bootanimation.
The official GPE device has the black screen with the old white Google logo and it's never updated during OTA's or RUU flashes so we are stuck with the old one.. for a fancy update i just made a new bootsplash zip that has the new Google Logo (2015 with the new font and color) inside so you can flash it from a custom recovery
It will survive every OTA and will not affect any kind of stock flash, it's not a part of the android system but it's a bootloader part that will never be checked flashed or updated, is safe and personally tested on my m8 GPE.
I also made a stock bootsplash zip to revert back to the original Google logo in case you want to go back to that.
Feel free to share! Credits goes to the devs
I have already made the new splash screens last month and posted them Here (Updated Link).

Hello XDA! I was surprised to find out no one has ripped the boot animation from KITKAT yet. So I downloaded the Nexus 5 System Dump (posted by Android Central member Jerry Hildenbrand. Thanks Jerry  ) And ripped the bootanimation.zip from the system/media folder. Tested and works just fine on Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201, stock ROM, rooted (I installed it using JRummy's ROM Toolbox Lite app. I know there are other ways but this one is the easiest.), but it SHOULD WORK ON ALMOST ANYTHiNG (if it doesnt, plz tell me) WARNING: THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE .ZIP SO DO NOT FLASH IT IN RECOVERY. If you dunno how to install boot animations, just use JRummy's ROM Toolbox app. So yeah. if you wanna know what it looks like it's almost exactly the same as the Google Edition phone boot animation (Google logo shows up, then goes away, then 4 circles crash together and then continuosly spin. It's awesome.) but this one does NOT have Google logo in the beginning. And of course the post wouldn't be complete w/o the usual warning that If something gets screwed up, it's not my fault or XDA's fault.
DOWNLOAD the bootanimation.zip file by clicking here.
Thanks but there are many threads with the boot animation on XDA. I got it on the first day in the Apps section.
Sent from my 4X HD via XDA Premium
now i want to try it.
but how to change it back to stock animation?
do i have to search for my current rom's bootanimation.zip?
Hi all
I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition I9505. I've couldn't resist temptation and I've deleted my system partition using twrp recovery (stupid me). After flashing the last stock Lollipop 5.0.1 firmware available for this phone (I9505XXUHOD7_I9505OXAHOD7_DBT), the stock "Deep Black" wallpapers for home screen and lock screen are nowhere to be seen. I guess they weren't installed by default.
I've searched for the respective files with Root Explorer (the best €3.79 ever invested) - (fhd_01.jpg, fhd_02.jpg, fhd_03.jpg, fhd_04.jpg, fhd_06.jpg, fhd_07.jpg, fhd_08.jpg, fhd_09.jpg) - are all included in this firmware (under /system/csc/DBT/system/wallpaper/drawable/, but for some reason they are not available under "Wallpapers-Home&Lock Screen" and I must browse to the gallery and select them manually.
Does anyone know how to make them available? I've really like to have my stock "Deep Black" I9505 back.
And where are the stock ordinary Lollipop home screen and lock screen contained. I've also tried to decompile framework-res.apk, but unsuccessfully. They're not there.
EDIT: After flashing the first Deep Back fw build I9505XXUHOB7/I9505YBTHOB7/I9505XXUHOB7, my home& locked screen returned to normal. Lesson learnt. The other questions remain opened.
Thank you

Marshmallow?
1. I noticed that in the OP it said M8 GPE so is this ROM a port of sorts of the marshamallow GPE ROM of the M8 or does it just have some inclusions from that ROM? If it's the former then this is freaking amazing!
2. Since this ROM is based on Skydragon does that mean that the installation instructions from Skydragon apply to this ROM? Such as needing to be S-OFF. I am S-ON so that's why I ask.
3. If it does require S-OFF can I just manually flash the boot image like in santod040 M7 GPE ROM to make it work?
It sadly doesn't boot. I'm stucked for 30 mins in boot loading screen.

In fact installer and build number are unaltered.
Same install methods apply if you are S-ON.
It's lollipop as is the M8 UI which adds the following features:
Lockscreen DT2S
Statusbar DT2S
Clear all recent apps
No search bar in recents
Centred statusbar clock (optional)
Right Quick Settings pulldown

Cheers Liam. Involved me getting some things working and adding good tweaks and apps. I've not built from source and probably never will as I personally couldn't commit that sort of time. Best part has been discovering the great open source apps and alternatives out there, which I still am.
ROM won't boot?
I followed the installation instructions written in the OP but, after leaving my phone for 20 minutes it would not boot. I then forced a restart by holding down the power button as elementalx sometimes get's ROM stuck on a bootloop and after doing that and letting it reboot for 10 minutes nothing happened. I also got a bootloop when I flashed the ROM only no elementalx. When I say bootloop it's the booting animaiton not the htc logo.
BTW in the aroma installer for elemental x kernel I selected the stock voltage instead of "Undervolt (850 min)" or any other one because undervolting could produce some boot failures. Every other setting is selected to stock.
I am using TWRP 3.0.0 recovery could that be the issue? It flashes other ROMs fine so the recovery is not corrupted.
I will attach a logcat later on so you can see what happens. Not at a computer at the moment.

The ROM is lollipop but it has addittions from m8GPE. Were you able to get it to boot? Cause I have been having difficulties.
Did you try to flash boot.img? (worked for me)

People who are having issues to boot, Are you using latest GPE firmware? I couldn't boot our rom without it so should be the same case here

ROM Booted!
I flashed the boot image provided through fastboot and then I flashed the ROM only and it booted perfectly. I only waited for around 4 minutes so it was very fast. I am S-On. Flashing the boot image definitely works
I will now try to flash the ROM plus kernel at the same time. Will edit this post in around 10 minutes.
Edit: Ok so I tried to flash kernel and ROM at same time after flashing boot image and the ROM booted perfectly. Weird thing is though that after I wiped data, cache, system, dalvik I flashed the ROM again with and without kernel (before first boot) without flashing the boot image and it worked perfectly as well. I don't know what was going on with my phone last time I tried to flash were it got stuck on bootloops. This is very strange as I haven't changed my firmware on my phone since last time I tried or done anything differently in my flashing procedures.
Well for how weird this experience was, I am very glad that I am able to use your ROM so I can provide feedback and also be able to enjoy it.
I figured out a way to get Android 7.0 on my Moto X Pure XT1575. These are the steps I did to get it working. I restored my moto x pure to stock android 5.1.1 then took all the OTA updates to the latest OTA version to Android 6.0. After I reinstalled TWRP and Installed the Moto X Style OTA update extracted from the XT1572 version. It worked perfectly fine except for dialing out in the U.S. I fixed this by installing the Band 12 OTA Modem update for the Moto X Pure. After that everything worked fine and everything is really fast compared to other roms. The only thing that does not work is Android Pay because I unlocked my bootloader but you could fix this buy just installing the stock bootloader and locking it. If you go to about device it says it is a Moto X Style but that is because you're basically running Moto X Style 7.0 OTA update. I made a TWRP backup of it and you can download and restore the backup to your device. This is meant for the Moto X Pure XT1575. This will work! This is my first ROM/Back Up post and I hope this works if it does not please leave a comment. I highly recommend to make a backup before you try this.
Make sure to fully wipe wipe your device before you restore the backup. Make Sure to rename the "Your Serial Number Here" folder to the Serial number of your Moto X Pure into the TWRP backup file you downloaded. Put the Backup folder into your TWRP folder on your device the directory should be this: TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR SERIAL NUMBER/1970-01-02-06-22-57_NPH25.200-15. Then go to TWRP on your device and tap restore then the "1970-01-02-06-22-57_NPH25.200-15" restore this and it should work. It also will use the Pixel bootup screen instead of the moto boot screen. Feel free to flash your own boot screen.
Download the backup here:

Sooo... basically you are telling us you have done what dozens of other users have done, except you went through an unnecessary OTA chain process prior to doing it and then flashing an older modem firmware?
Not trying to burst your bubble here, and I mean no offense, but did you read any of the Nougat threads here? Pure users have been doing this, and telling others how to do it, since the first Latin America OTA's were released a month or so ago.
Unless I am missing some secret nugget of info here, which is possible I suppose.
Apart from creating more than one thread and abandoning one ("Test" - now magically evaporated) and then deciding to use a ridiculous font size (now corrected) you also post about something that is old news.

Stock Rom ZIPs for Verizon Orbic Wonder
Here's stock ROM zips for the Verizon variant Orbic Wonder. I wouldn't flash this on a vanilla Wonder if I were you, it might screw stuff up. One's a completely stock ROM and the other's pretty much just a normal stock ROM with some debloating here and there. Made using /system and /boot images pulled from a Verizon Orbic, and repacked into a flashable ZIP with SuperR Kitchen. By having this we can flash back to, now we hopefully feel a lot safer trying out and experimenting with other ROMs/mods for this phone. Also you'll need an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery to flash this too.
Since our only TWRP image for this phone is a dirty port from the E4 Plus as of writing this post, I had to remove the "ro.getprop" safety checks from the updater-script to get it to work and flash on the phone. This means that this can theoretically be flashed on any device, which would obviously break your phone if you flashed it on a non-Wonder. Be careful!
WHAT WORKS:
For the non-debloated ROM, everything
For the debloated ROM, everything except what's listed below
WHAT DOESN'T WORK/BUGS:
Some people that tested it reported Google Play crashings and Package Installer not being able to work. If this happens just flash pico OpenGApps in custom recovery and it should clear it right up no problemo
DOWNLOAD:

Jason has did an awesome job with these builds!! We're working hard towards that (LOS) LineageOS build or AOSP. Until then when i get free time I will be working on a Totally unique cooked, debloated, deodexed, Rom with xposed, kernel mods, custom Launcher, Themes and more! Mine is a bit different than Jasons. I have debloated it and done all the mods i just mentioned just havent broke it down in the kitchen and cooked it up yet. All in due time.

I installed orange fox recovery on my RC555L and after that the screen is getting messed up. I am attaching a video of exactly what happens.
After boot it looks normal, when I turn the screen off and back on it looks messed up. Any ideas?
I reinstalled the stock recovery from your downloads and it did not fix the problem.
Installing stock rom did not fix the problem. I used the one you provided. It boots fine just when I turn the screen off and on it looks like the picture below.

OF was a decent recovery but we never completely finished up porting it so that it ran without any hitches. My copy AFAIR ran great and with the Fox addons. I however ditched Fox for 2-3 or so of our other 12? recoveries we have for this devices. Try downloading Batak Recovery. We did this. See if it runs better for you. Depending on what you are wanting to do... boot image, install zip afterwards and go from there.

The Orbic Wonder is still getting around! Good to see. I almost had the kernel source from Orbic. If someone wants to try them i can share contact info I received speaking to a worker there. I also still have 4 or 5 of the Wonder handsets here waiting for if I ever get spare time. Enjoyed the phone when it first came out. Fun phone.. Still not a bad phone in today's world running stock or with Jason's working cooked Rom.
Im tring to root my orbic and i followed this video but when it got to the end and restarted its saying encryption unsuccessful and wont do anything else only thing i can do is get into red fox recovery can any one assist me? maybe reflash?
