So I uninstalled the sideloaded Samsung Pay in anticipation of the next update, however I am unable to uninstall the framework that came with it. Also, when I try to access my "NFC and Payment" settings I keep getting a FC and I think the framework has something to do with it. I know I can just disable the package or do a factory reset, but I'd rather have it gone completely without resetting my phone. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

That might be the only way. I have not figured out how to either. I will probably just do a factory reset.

Did it allow you to register a card to qualify for the free case or charger from Samsung?

It did not. It says, "Your device is not eligible for this promotion" or something of that nature. I haven't tried it recently though, but I'm guessing it'll be the same.

factory reset does not eliminate this bc it auto installs as part of the root software.
Thank you. But the post you quoted was from about a year ago before Samsung Pay was officially launched and it was not a part of the root software at that time.

I have a similar problem too. I installed Samsung Pay Framework v2.7.27 before Samsung releases its Samsung Pay mini on Galaxy S6. Now both are there as Spay mini came automatically during OTA update. Neither Spay framework nor Spay mini works. In fact, I can't use Spay mini as it says I better use Spay framework as it has better functionality. NOW I AM TRYING TO UNINSTALL SAMSUNG PAY FRAMEWORK AND I CAN'T DO IT AS OPTION TO DO SO IS DISABLED! Anyone knows how to uninstall Samsung Pay Framework please??

OK so my husband lost his phone and doesn't have findmydroid installed - any way to ping it's location to see perhaps if it is even a pipe dream to recover it?
Report the serial # to Verizon.... They should be able to at least find it if someone else tries to use it.
Hindsight is a B, but next time download "AndroidLost".

No pre installation required
You didn't install AndroidLost on your phone? No problem! You can push the AndroidLost app to your phone from google market and initiate the connection to googles servers by sending an SMS with the message "androidlost register" to your phone.

I tried that with my gf's phone. The "new user" had already disconnected service so it was a no go.
Might as well try it, OP. I would do it asap.

Try Plan B from the marketplace. Using the web install option and hoping the phone is still on, you may be able to ping your phone and see where it is. It'll report the phone's location (if it can) to your Gmail after being installed remotely from the Play Store. The app is from the same people who make Lookout, a great app to install on your phone before you loose it so you can find it.
And if you find the phone you can call Verizon back and ask to have the phone marked as found and reactivate the IMEI. You can also ask them to reactivate the IMEI (if you've had it deactivated already) so you can install Plan B and try to locate the phone. I went through this exact issue with my dad loosing his Droid X. We didn't find it but we were able to reactivate its disabled IMEI for the purpose of trying one last time to find it, before marking as lost for good. Since the Galaxy S III uses a sim I'm not sure if IMEI deactivation is possible, but either way, good luck!

I know this is a bit off topic of the thread, I just installed Locate my Droid on my SIII but I have a Tab 2 wifi model that is of course equipped with GPS. Anyone know a solution for the Tab 2 that would have similar functions - Locate my Droid says it is incompatible with the Tab 2. I know it is wifi only so it would have to actually be online, but something is better than nothing.
Just got my Galaxy S III on Friday. It's on 4.0.4 right now, and I'm just checking to see if there's an update available and I get this message:
Service unavailable
Check for System Updates under Settings > About device when service is available
If it helps, I've disabled most of the Verizon apps that are included on the phone, but I don't think that would affect anything. *I enabled all of the apps that I disabled, but it's still giving me the same message when I try software update.
I also reset my phone to factory and it still did it.
If there wasn't an update, it would say something like "You are up to date" Right?
Thanks
Depends on which verizon apps. The software update comes from verizon.

Disabling stock software can definitely stop an OTA update from installing.
Ok, I re-enabled everything and tried software update again and it's still saying the same thing... :/
Can anyone help, is this a fault with my phone?
I want to find out before my 14 day return/exchange policy is up :/
Josh...my wife has a thunderbolt and is getting the same thing...her phone booted into boatloader today which I thought was funny since she is straight stock...its not your new phone its them.

I hope so! Would suck to not be able to update to Jelly Bean...whenever Verizon lets it come...
I'm in the same dilemma. I called Best Buy where I upgraded my phone last Friday and they said they've never heard of this. Chances are I might try to have them replace it with a phone that will update.

I think its their server. I just wiped clean all the way back to the original stock image and then tried to get the OTA, and was getting the same message. It worked on monday night...not sure what happened to them since. Oh well, I was going to make a nand backup of my phone with the OTA.

i have the same issue. i checked on my GNEX and no issue. move the sim to my S3 and cant check for updates.WTF...not sure what the deal is. i have gone as far as restoring using ODIN back to the ROM that was shipped with the phone and same result. I know i have had some odd issues with this phone...its been locking up, GPS causes the phone to reboot (not all the time tho). im ready to go back to VZW and swap it out. Im back on stock, NO ROOT,NO NOTHING, just pure stock.
I just recently started getting the same error too. You are not alone my friend.

Just to let you all know I wound up having to get a new phone. The guys in the store all tried telling me that nothing was wrong with my phone, and that the update would come to me 'eventually.' Kept telling me I don't need a new phone.
I had only had the phone for 6 days, and the return/exchange policy is 14, so I demanded they give me a new phone. They said "The new phone's gonna do the same thing dude."
So I get a new phone, and the first thing it does when it's powered up and set up...."UPDATE AVAILABLE!"
I said "Gee, imagine that."
Don't take no for an answer.
Anyone know what controls updates? I cleared data for "sdm" which is part of the check but I don't know what else is. It's pushing and pulling data when checking for an update but always comes back with service unavailable. If this doesn't work when I the next ota comes out I guess verizon is giving me permission to root and install a custom recovery

Are verizon customers able to update via Kies or is that international only? That might be a way around this problem?

Anybody know the package name for samsung pay framework so I can freeze it with the debloater tool? Ever since I installed it, hoping samsung pay would work, my bluetooth connectivity has been horrible. I'm thinking that might be the problem.
It's not, I'm running the same with no drain issues. Sorry can't answer to what package it is.

My N5 has an unlocked bootloader but that's it. I was running a fully stock, OTA compatible 5.1.1 prior to flashing the factory 6.0 image using fastboot this afternoon.
That all went well but I tried to setup Android Pay just now and after I add my card and agree to the terms and conditions, I'm presented with the attached screenshot.
Any idea what's up? I've already killed and cleared the data on the Android Pay app and I get the same thing.
When that happened to me, I was rooted, but if you are not rooted then I am Not sure. Those who are rooted simply need to unroot authorize and then reroot
Just bumping to see if anyone else has this issue. I re-installed the app and i'm still getting the same thing.

But does it actually work at checkout? I've seen reports that it doesn't. Maybe if you disable superuser and then checkout?
I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that. I haven't tried to pay for anything using that yet. However, I have heard reports of bad behavior from the application from people who are completely stock
I'm getting the same thing. I was able to add cards that had already been set up in my google wallet, but now if I try to add a new cards I get the "unable to verify" BS. I cannot use the already added cards to make a payment either. It gives me a message about card XXX cannot be used at this time. I'm pretty pissed, I used google wallet quite a bit, now I can't use wallet, and google pay effing sucks.
Am I missing a post? All I can find is the posts for the 930F/FD.
I'm trying to get a handle on this whole 60% battery issue before it gets pushed to me. I know about the app that disables it for you, but honestly I'd rather have Root for ultimate say.
If there's not a ROM for the Sprint version, why not? (other than no one has made one)
I'm sorry if this has been covered in an older post.

Yeah. I have a fix. Download this .tar and put each part in the right box. Turn on OEM unlock and Debugging and flash with the latest version of Odin3_v3.12.4_4 . My phone now charges to 100% and the stupid recall nag screen is gone. The phone is 100% stock and unrooted still. You're welcome. Don't forget to hit that thanks button.

I will post if it works or not, I wish there was a way to revert to the factory firmware and not wipe the data. So I assume a simple restore really does not restore it to factory another words the updates are still there not the firmware it shipped with? I have to back up my phone and then I am going to give it a shot, if I get a fail message I hope someone here can help me figure out why and how to fix it.

My guess is the updates applied will stick. The method I mentioned previously works, I know it's a headache to restore data but it's worth it in the end.
Sorry guys, I've flashed this three times and the Samsung patch still over rides and in installs the 60% limit. Only solution is to root and I've not found anything that works yet.

Well we better get a custom rom quick because Samsung told me today that they will release an update that prevents the phones from being turned on as well as carriers are going to block note 7s from connecting to their network. We have to make our voices heard becaise today its the note 7, tomorrow who knows, I will never buy samsung again after being treated this way.
PS Disable samsung cloud because they are using it to drain your battery...

How dare they try so hard to prevent death/injury to you and your loved ones and damage to your property...
It's not like any of that would tarnish their image, right? Wait...
Yeah any lithium ion battery has the possibility to blow up, i dont care that you are a senior member, if you don't have anything useful to add the post, then get out...
We are looking for solutions so get off the soapbox, my Note 7 is at just as much risk as your phone.
To the OP, we really need a custom rom and root quick cuz it wont be long until we are blocked from the networks.

True that, however we will be powerless against the IMEI block, that's a cell tower thing, something we don't have control over.
I was successful in reverting to a previous update before the 60% one. I also found a previous version of the package blocker described in some of the posts I've read. All of which you can find via Google (Android central) or XDA.
Phone automatically tried updating, so I skipped ahead as fast as possible to turn on airplane mode. I then installed the already downloaded disabler, disabled the recommended packages and turned on the radio again.
(Note: Ensure that you de-encrypt your files before starting the process, I forgot to and lost some files.)

Can someone point me to the easiest free way to Root the Note 7, its a Sprint Note 7 so I can get rid of the 60% thing. Does Root allow you to stop the 60% battery limit? Does it allow you to stop all the dang warnings? I would appreciate it. I keep getting different threads about how to Root the Sprint Note 7 so if someone can post a link to the best thread on how to do this the easiest without messing it up. I really appreciate it, thank you in advance.

Unfortunately, there isn't a root option for us 930P users. There was something that we *could* have used, however that got patched a couple updates ago and we can't go any further back than the one that patched it (to my understanding).
If we have root access and the XPOSED module, then there certainly will be something we can do about it if you do a quick search in the play store... of course like the package disabler, Samsung will come hard at those apps too... Im lucky enough to not ever had to deal with the 60 percent update, hopefully I'm lucky enough that someone will release a rooted PHE or unlock key for the bootloader.
